Master in Medical Science and Technology (MMST) – 2008 – 2009

Eligibility: A MBBS degree recognized by the Medical Council of India

Application procedure: MMST 2008 application can only be submitted by an ONLINE process by accessing the website of the institute during 4th Feb to 29th Feb 2008. The candidate should first pay the non-refundable application fee of Rs.1000/- (Rs.500/- for SC/ST category) by obtaining a Demand Draft in favour of “ IIT Kharagpur”, payable at any nationalized bank in Kharagpur, West Bengal.

The draft details are required while filling up the online form. Candidates are required to take a print of the Online Application Form after successful submission of data. The printed form with candidate’s signature and photograph and the DD must be sent by Speed Post so as to reach “The Chairman, GATE, IIT Kharagpur, Kharagpur – 721 302 by 7th March, 2008.

One-Year Post Graduate Diploma Course in Integrated Geriatric Care
The course covers topics like Gerontology, Public Policy and Planning, Clinical Geriatrics. Geriatrics Management, Psychology and Counseling, Research Methodology.

Eligibility: Essential: 45 % Marks in Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) from a recognized University or

Desirable: Preference will be given to the candidates

i. Having a degree in Sociology, Social Work/Social Welfare, Anthropology, Psychology, Nursing, Home Science and related fields.

ii. Holding certificate(s) of experience/training etc in the field of Old Age Care.

b) Age Limit: Not less than 21 years as on October 1, 2007.

c) Upper Age Limit: Should not exceed 45 years as on October 1, 2007.

Application procedure: Interested Candidates may send their application in a prescribed form given in the Prospectus which can be obtained from Old Age Care Division, National Institute of Social Defence, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. West Block-1, Wing-3, First Floor, R. K. Puram, New Delhi-110066 (Tel. 26106883) from 10.00 A. M. to 1.00 P.M. on all working days by paying Rs.50/- personally through Banker's Cheque, Indian Postal Order or by sending Demand Draft/Indian Postal Order for Rs. 80/-. The Draft/Pay Order/Indian Postal Order should be drawn in favour of The Director, National Institute of Social Defence, New Delhi-110066, payable, at New Delhi.




Desirous candidates may also download the application Form from NISD's website www.nisd.org.in and apply along with a Demand Draft/ Banker's Cheque/IPO of Rs 50/.

However, the candidates requesting for dispatch of the Prospectus should attach a Demand Draft/Banker's Cheque/Indian Postal Order of Rs. 80/- instead of Rs 50/- along with the form downloaded from the Website.

Reservation of Seats : 15% of the seats are reserved for the scheduled caste, 7.5 % seats for the scheduled tribe candidates, 27% for the OBC candidates and 3 % for the following category of disabled who mill be able to take up the job of care givers: i. Persons with hearing impairment, low vision fitted with appropriate aids/assistive device to enable them to function with normal hearing, vision, speech etc. ii. Persons with minor disability in one of the lower or upper limb that does not restrict their job of care giving if fitted with appropriate appliances or even without it.
