Eligibility:
1. M.Sc.(Biotechnology) Programme: Bachelor’s degree under 10+2+3 pattern of education in Physical, Biological, Agricultural, Veterinary & Fishery Sciences, Pharmacy, Engineering/Technology, 4-Years B.S. (Physician Assistant Course); OR Medicine (MBBS) OR BDS with at least 55% marks.
Only those candidates who have passed the qualifying examinations in 2008 or thereafter including those who are appearing in 2010 are eligible to apply. In other words, those who have passed the qualifying examination PRIOR to 2008, are not eligible to apply.
2. M.Sc.(Agri.) Biotechnology/M.V.Sc.:
Bachelor’s degree under 10+2+3/4/5 pattern of education with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade point average from any recognized university in the concerned subjects
3. M.Tech in Biotechnology
Minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade in any one: B.Tech/B.E. in Chemical Engineering/Biochemical Engineering, Industrial Biotechnology, Leather Technology, Chemistry/Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, B. Pharma, Chemical Technology, OR M.Sc. in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics, Biophysics, Microbial Genetics and Bioinformatics
For Anna University: Candidates with B.Tech/ B.E in Electrochemistry, Bioengineering and M.Sc. in Chemistry & Physics are also eligible. For West Bengal University of Technology : Candidates with M.Sc. in Bioengineering are also eligible. For Cochin University of Science and Technology: Candidates with M.Sc in Marine Biotechnology, Marine Biology/Aquatic Biology & Fisheries, Environmental Biotechnology are also eligible.).
Application Procedure:
By Post: To receive the Application Form by post candidates should send their request only to the Section Officer (Admissions), Room No. 28, Administrative Block, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi-110067, along with a Bank Draft (valid for six months) of Rs.260/-(for one set of Application Form and Prospectus). The Bank Draft should be drawn in favour of “Jawaharlal Nehru University” payable at New Delhi.
The request should accompany a self-addressed unstamped envelope of the size of 30x25 cms. indicating clearly on the top of the self addressed envelope the programme for which Application Form is required, i.e., “M.Sc. Biotechnology” OR “M.Sc.(Agri.)/M.V.Sc. Biotechnology” OR “M.Tech. Biotechnology”.
In Person: Sets of Application Form and Prospectus can be obtained personally on cash payment of Rs.200/- per set from any of the participating University as shown above. Please do not send your request through private courier services.

Courses Offered: Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR) invites applications for admission to the following programmes:
1. M.Sc. (Economics): This is a two-year programme commencing August 2010.
M.Phil./Ph.D. (Development Studies): These are interdisciplinary programmes commencing August 2010. The duration of M.Phil. programme is two years and that of Ph.D. programme is four years.
Eligibility: For M.Sc. Economics:
B.A./B.Sc. in Economics/B.Com./B.Stat./B.Sc. (Physics or Mathematics)/ B.Tech./B.E. with at least a second division for Economics discipline and first division for other disciplines. The applicant must have studied mathematics at the higher secondary level or should be able to demonstrate equivalent mathematical ability.
For M.Phil / Ph.D.:
M.A./M.Sc in Economics/ M.Stat./M.Sc. (Physics or Mathematics or Environmental Science or Operations Research)/ M.B.A./M.Tech./M.E./B.Tech./B.E. with at least 55% aggregate marks for Economics discipline and 60% aggregate marks for other disciplines. The applicant must have studied Mathematics at the higher secondary level or should be able to demonstrate equivalent mathematical ability.
Application Procedure: Application forms and prospectus may be purchased from the Institute Students’ Office by paying cash on a working day (Monday to Friday, 9.15 a.m. to 5.45 p.m.) or via post by sending a bank draft of Rs. 200 (non-refundable) payable to Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR) at Mumbai to the Admissions Office, IGIDR, Gen. Selection Procedure: Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in a written test and an interview. The written test emphasizes general aptitude, analytical ability and mathematical skills.
The test venue will be notified in the call letter. Based on the performance in the written test, short listed candidates will be called for an interview at IGIDR around the first week of July 2010. Second class return rail fare by the shortest route from the place of residence will be paid to the candidates interviewed. The decision of the selection committee will be final.

Eligibility Criteria: Bachelor's degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) from a recognized university.
Relaxation of 5% marks for candidates belonging to SC, ST and PD categories.
Application Procedure: A Bulletin of Information and application forms will be available according to the from 9th Feburary, 2010 to 8th March, 2010 on all working days at the University office from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm for Rs 50. These can also be purchased at select branches of Canara Bank in Delhi.
Application forms can also be downloaded from the website of the University. There is no provision for online submission. Completed application forms will have to be submitted along with a bank draft of Rs 200 for the first MA programme. An extra charge of Rs 100 will have to be paid to apply for each additional MA programme.
For SC/ST candidates the application forms will have to be submitted along with a bank draft of Rs 100 for the first MA programme. An extra charge of Rs 50 will have to be paid to apply for each additional MA programme. The bank draft should be made in favour of ‘Ambedkar University, Delhi’ and issued only from a nationalised bank.

The completed application can be submitted by hand at the University Office or sent by post or submitted at select branches of Canara Bank in Delhi.
