Application Procedure

Prospectus-cum-Application Formcan be obtained from the office of Deputy Registrar (Academics) on working days (Monday to Friday) w.e.f. 25.02.2010 (10.00 A.M. to 4.00 PM) up to 25.03.2010 on payment of Rs.600/- in cash or through Demand Draft or can be downloaded from the University website which should be accompanied by Demand Draft of the same amount or can be obtained through post by sending a Demand Draft of Rs.650/- up to 15.03.2010.

Demand Draft should be in favour of Registrar DCRUST Murthal, payable at Sonepat. In case the candidates are found ineligible or applications are received late, application fee will not be refunded. No enclosure is required with the application except Demand Draft (in case of downloaded form).
In case of eligibility in more than one discipline, separate application form is to be submitted for each B.Tech. discipline in which the candidate is interested for admission.
Admit cards for entrance test shall be collected in person from venue of examination one hour before the start of the test.

Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP)-2010-2011

Eligibility Criteria

The Candidate must have
i) A Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent in any discipline.
ii) A valid CAT /GMAT score
iii) Minimum 5 years of managerial/ entrepreneurial/ professional experience after graduation.
 
The programme is open to all nationalities.

Application Procedure: Candidates seeking admission to the one-year EPGP programme of IIM-Indore (2010-11 batch) either have to appear in the Common Admission Test (CAT 2009) or submit their GMAT score. The GMAT score should have been obtained between Jan 1, 2007 and March 31, 2010. They will have to send in a separate application form which can be downloaded from our website www.iimidr.ac.in . A separate advertisement will be released in due course indicating the date from which the application form will be available on the website.

The completed application form along with the processing fee should reach IIM Indore on or before 20th April, 2010.

The application processing fee is Rs. 3500/- for resident Indians and U.S. $ 110/- for other nationals and non-resident Indians. Please enclose a D/D for the application-processing fee drawn in favour of IIM Indore payable at Indore along with the application.

Candidates applying through CAT 2009 have to mention their CAT Application Form number in the EPGP Application form. Candidates applying through GMAT have to submit their GMAT score along with the EPGP Application form.

Selection Process
 
Interview: Interview of short listed candidates will be conducted at various locations depending on the number of candidates from that region. Short-listing of candidates for interview will be done based on a number of criteria like CAT /GMAT score, Academic performance, work experience etc as decided by the admissions committee.

Selection & registering for the programme:Candidates will be selected based on CAT /GMAT score, academic performance, achievements, performance in the interview, work experience etc as decided by the admissions committee. Selected candidates have to register for the programme in Sept 2010.

Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA)

Applications are invited from eligible candidates  of Karnataka including the wards of Jammu & Kashmiri migrants for registration for the " Common Entrance Test-2010” for admissions to first year Medical / Dental/Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga / Engineering / Technology / Architecture  courses for the seats to be notified by the Government in the Professional Educational Institutions in the state of Karnataka for the academic year 2010-11.

Eligibility Criteria
(a) For Medical / Dental courses, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC/ 12th std. or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and with English as one of the languages of study and have obtained a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate in the PCB group and should secure a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate in PCB subjects in the Common Entrance Test.
In case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes (Category-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B), the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 40% of marks in aggregate in PCB group both in Qualifying Examination and Common Entrance Test.
b) For Ayurveda / Homoeppathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga Courses, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th standard or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and with English as one of the languages of study and have obtained a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate in the PCB group irrespective of marks obtained in in CET. In case candidates belonging to Schedule Castes, Schedule Tribes and OBC (Category-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B), the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 40% of marks in aggregate in PCB group in the qualifying examination.
For admission to Medical / Dental / Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga courses, the candidate should have completed the age of 17 years as on 31st of December 2010.
(c) For Engineering / Technology courses, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th Std. or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Computer Science / Electronics / Biology as optional subjects with English as one of the languages of study and obtained a minimum of 45% of marks in aggregate in the optional subjects, irrespective of marks obtained in the Common Entrance Test.
In case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes (Category-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B), the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 40% of marks in aggregate in the optional subjects in the qualifying examination.
(d) For Architecture course, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th Std. or equivalent examination with Mathematics as a compulsory optional subject and obtained a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate in all the subjects in the qualifying examination (45% of marks in case of candidates belonging
to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes), and should compulsorily appear for NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) and get a minimum of 40% in it. (Including Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes)

Application Procedure: Brochure cum application form will be supplied through the schools / colleges located within the State of Karnataka in which the students are studying 2nd PUC or 12th standard examination upon submission of Demand Draft for Rs. 650/- to the Principals in advance, drawn in favour of "The Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority, Bangalore ", payable at Bangalore and Rs. 500/- for students belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Category-1.
The repeater and ex-students who have passed the qualifying examination within the State of Karnataka before 2010 should also submit the demand draft for the above said amount to the respective schools / colleges.

The Last date for submission of Demand Draft to the Principal of Schools and Colleges within Karnataka will be 03.03.2010.

The Karnataka candidates residing outside Karnataka (Horanadu, Gadinadu and other Karnataka candidates i.e, who fulfills the eligibility conditions) who are studying or who have studied 12th standard or equivalent examination outside the State of Karnataka, within the territory of India, can procure the brochure cum application form by "SPEED POST', by sending a self-addressed cloth-lined envelope of size 25 cm x 30 cm along with a Demand Draft for Rs.750/- drawn in favour of "The Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority, Bangalore", payable at Bangalore and a Karnataka candidate residing outside India can get the brochure cum application form by sending a demand draft for Rs. 5,000/-.

The contents on the self-addressed envelope should be in English or Kannada language only. The cover in which the demand draft and self-addressed envelope are sent should be boldly super scribed with the words “REQUEST FOR CET-2010 BROCHURE" and should be sent to the following address of Executive Director by "Speed Post" ONLY. The KEA will not take responsibility for the envelopes sent through courier or given in person or through any other private arrangement and also for incomplete and insufficient address on the envelope.

The last date for submission of Demand Drafts by "Speed Post” will be 05.03.2010.
The Brochure will be supplied to the schools & colleges in Karnataka & also to the students who are residing outside the State of Karnataka on or after 10.03.2010.

For Ph.D. Programmes

Faculty of Applied Sciences:

(a) M Sc or M Phil in a relevant field or equivalent
(b) Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent

Faculty of Policy and Planning

(a) M Sc/MA/M Phil in a relevant field or equivalent.
(b) Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.

Full time students who possess a B Tech degree in the relevant field or equivalent are required to have a valid GATE score and a minimum CGPA of 7.5 on a 10 point scale or 70% marks.

For M.Sc. Programme:
A Bachelor’s degree in Science/ Engineering/ Commerce/ Economics/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Geography with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 6.75 on a 10 point scale or equivalent as determined by the TERI University, wherever letter grades are awarded, or 60% marks in aggregate (of all the years/ semesters of the qualifying examinations), wherever marks are awarded. For candidates with a bachelor’s degree in Economics/Commerce/Geography, a relaxation of 5% or 0.75 CGPA could be allowed.

For M Sc (Geoinformatics)
A Bachelor’s degree in Science/Engineering/Statistics/ Geography with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 6.75 on a 10 point scale or equivalent as determined by the TERI University, wherever letter grades are awarded, or 60% marks in aggregate (of all the years/ semesters of the qualifying examinations), wherever marks are awarded.

For candidates with a bachelor’s degree in Geography, a relaxation of 5% or 0.75 CGPA could be allowed.
M Sc (Plant Biotechnology)

For the Masters programme in Plant Biotechnology the minimum eligibility is a Bachelor’s degree in the Sciences, preferably the Life Sciences, with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate (of all the years/ semesters of the qualifying examinations), wherever marks are awarded, or a minimum cumulative grade point average of 6.75 on a 10 point scale.

M B A (Infrastructure)
Stream I: Bachelor’s degree with mathematics as a subject till Class XII.
Stream II: Graduates with a minimum of two years experience in any of the following sectors namely government, regulatory bodies, industry, research/academic institutions, donor/consultant organizations.
M B A (Business Sustainability): Bachelor’s degree with Mathematics and English as compulsory course till 10+2 or equivalent.

M A (Public Policy & Sustainable Development)
Graduates with a minimum experience of five years in any of the following sectors namely government, regulatory bodies, industry, research/academic institutions, and donor/consultant organizations.

Master’s in Sustainable Development Projects
To enter the programme, students must meet the following prerequisites.
An undergraduate degree (Honours or equivalent) in a related fi eld of study (environmental sciences, engineering, economics, social sciences, health sciences and law) from an internationally recognized institution, of 6.75 on a 10 point scale or equivalent as determined by TERI University, wherever letter grades are awarded, or 60% marks in aggregate (of all the years/semesters of the qualifying examinations), wherever marks are awarded Appropriate English language proficiency.

M Tech (Renewable Energy Engineering and Management)
A Bachelor’s degree in any branch of engineering or M Sc in Physics with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 6.75 on a 10 point scale or equivalent as determined by TERI University, wherever letter grades are awarded, or 60% marks in aggregate (of all the years/ semesters of the qualifying examinations), wherever marks are awarded. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) awards fellowships every year for pursuing M Tech programs, based on a written test. Candidates who get this fellowship will also be eligible.

M Sc (Economics) – with a specialization in Environmental & Resource Economics
3-year Bachelor’s degree in Economics (50%) or Mathematics/ Physics/ Engineering (60%) with Mathematics and English as compulsory courses till 10+2 or equivalent.

PG Diploma by distance learning (Renewable Energy programme)
A degree in Mathematics/Science/Technology or equivalent with minimum cumulative grade point average of 6.0 on a 10 point scale or equivalent as determined by TERI University, wherever letter grades are awarded, or 55% marks in aggregate (of all years/semesters of the qualifying examinations) wherever marks are awarded.

Application Procedure
It is recommended that applications be made online. Applications can be made on-line at www.teriuniversity.ac.in .

The requisite payment of Rs 1250/- can be made through credit card/ direct bank debit through a secure gateway. Payment can also be done by sending a demand draft subsequent to on-line registration.
On-line registrations will be open till 5.00 p.m. on 5 May 2009.

Alternatively, the application forms and the information brochure can be obtained from various centres across India (addresses are available on the University website) or from Registrar, TERI University, 10, Institutional Area, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi – 110 070, on cash payment of Rs 1450/- if collected personally or through post by sending a Demand Draft of Rs 1500/- drawn in favour of ‘Registrar, TERI University’ payable at New Delhi.

The completed application forms must reach the Registrar by 5.00 p.m. on 14 April 2009.
Application forms may also be downloaded from the University’s web site www.teriuniversity.ac.in , in which case a DD of Rs 1450/- must accompany the completed form.
