Candidates presently undergoing the course in the College and those who have completed the course but having arrears are informed to get the examination application from the college concerned.

Applications will be available in the first week of September 2010 at the respective colleges. All candidates should submit the application only through the Principal of the respective colleges with necessary fees. No application should be sent directly to the Controller of Examinations.

Candidates who completed their course in colleges coming under Zones VI to X (Salem, Coimbatore, Trichy, Karaikudi & Tirunelveli)
will have only a limited number of examination centres for the theory examinations and they have to write the examinations only at that centre. The examination centres for these candidates will be notified in due course.

Last date for submission of application to the Principal of the respective colleges is 14.09.2010.

University of Madras (UOM)

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to M.A. Degree course in Bharathanatyam under private study (two years) for the academic year 2010-2011.

Eligibility Criteria

A graduate in any discipline with 10 years of performance or 10 years of teaching or 10 years of teaching and performance prior or after the Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Dance or any other Diploma as equivalent thereto and those who have completed 30 years of age as on 30th September year in which the candidate submits the application.

The minimum period of attendance is 30 days in an academic year.

Indian Army (IA)

Applications are invited from unmarried, Male Candidates who have passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (Hereinafter referred to as PCM) subjects and fulfill the eligibility conditions prescribed in the subsequent paragraphs, for the grant of permanent commission in the Army after 4 years of Basic Military Training and Technical Training  thereafter with the terms and conditions given in the succeeding paragraphs.

Eligibility Criteria

(a) Nationality: A candidate must either be : (i) A citizen of India, or (ii) A subject of Bhutan, or (iii) A subject of Nepal, or (iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st of January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or (v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination provisionally subject to the necessary certificate being given to him by the Govt before declaration of result by SSB / joining training.

(b) Age Limit, Sex and Marital Status: Only unmarried male candidates are eligible for the entry. A candidate must not be below 16 & ½ years and above 19 & ½ years on the first day of the month in which the course is commencing i.e. the candidate should not be born before 01 Jan 1992 and not after 01 Jan 1995 (both days inclusive).

The date of birth accepted by the office is that entered in the Matriculation or Secondary School Leaving certificate or in the certificate recognised by an Indian University as equivalent to Matriculation or in an extract from a Register of Matriculates maintained by a University which extract must be certified by the proper authority of the University or in the Higher Secondary or an equivalent examination certificate. No other document relating to age like horoscopes, affidavits, birth extract from municipal corporation, service records and the like will be accepted. The expression Matriculation/Higher Secondary Examination Certificate in this part of the instruction includes the alternative certificate mentioned above.

NOTE 1: Candidate should note only the date of birth as recorded in the Matriculation / Higher Secondary Examination Certificate or an equivalent certificate on the date of submission of applications will be accepted and no subsequent request for its change will be considered or granted.

NOTE 2: Candidates should also note that once a date of birth has been claimed by them and entered in the records, no change will be allowed subsequently or a subsequent examination on any ground whatsoever.

NOTE 3: The Candidates should exercise due care while entering their date of birth in the application form. lf on verification at any subsequent stage any variation is found in their date of birth form one entered in their matriculation or equivalent examination certificate, disciplinary action will be taken against them under rules.

NOTE 4: Candidates must undertake not to marry until they complete their lull training. A candidate who marries subsequent to the date oi his application, though successful, will not be selected for training. A candidate who marries during training shall be discharged and will be liable to refund all expenditure incurred on him by the government.

(C) Educational qualification: Only these candidates who have passed 10+2 Examination or its equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 70% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are eligible to apply for this entry.

Selection Procedure
The selection procedure is as follows:

(a) Short listed candidates will be called for Services Selection Board (SSB) interview at Bhopal, Bangalore or Allahabad. Interviews will be held in Feb / March 2011 onwards.

(b) Duration of SSB interviews is five days excluding day of arrival. During their slay at SSB, Candidates are put through psychological Test, Group test and Interviews.

(c) Candidates will be put through stage- I of the selection procedure on the first day. Only successful candidates shall be retained for balance of the testing. Candidates who fail to qualify in stage -l, will be retuned on the first day itself, Stage I are psychologically originated test including intelligence test.

(d) Successful candidates at the SSB will be required to undergo medical test lasting 3 to 5 days less Sundays and gezetted holidays.

(e) Candidates recommended by the SSB and declared medically fit, will be appointed for training in the order of merit, depending on the number of vacancies available.

(f) One AC-III tier/AC Chair Car fare is admissible for the interview (to and fro) for the first time only.

The Indian Navy (IN)

Applications are invited from unmarried male candidates for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Executive Branch (General Service) of the Indian Navy for Jul 2011 Course at Indian Naval Academy (INA) Ezhimala, Kerala. Candidates to fulfill conditions of nationality as laid down by the Government of India.

Eligibility Criteria

Age: 19 & ½ to 25 years born between 02 July 1986 and 01 Jan 1992; both dates inclusive.

Educational Qualifications

Any of the following:-

(a) Science Graduate with Physics & Mathematics with minimum 60% marks from a recognized University.

(b) BE / B.Tech with minimum 60% marks in aggregate in any discipline from an institution recognized by AICTE.

(c) Science Graduates (Physics & Mathematics) from a recognized University holding NCC Naval Wing, Senior Division ‘C’ certificate.

(d) Graduate / Post Graduate in Operations Analysis and Operational Research/ Quantitative Methods with minimum 75% marks from recognized University.

(e) Graduate/ Post Graduate in Mathematics, with Probability or Statistics with minimum 75% marks from a recognized University.

Note: Candidates who have not completed their Graduation (i.e. appearing candidates) need not apply, their application will not be accepted.

Physical Standard

(a) Height & Weight: Minimum height- 157 cms with correlated weight.

(b) Eye Sight: The minimum acceptable vision standard for distant vision 6/12, 6/12 correctable to 6/6, 5/6 with glasses. Should not be colour/night blind.

(c) There will be no relaxation in physical standards.

Selection Procedure

(a) The candidates will be issued call up for Services Selection Board (SSB) based on their performance in Degree Course. If a candidate possesses higher qualification with better percentage, his higher qualification will be considered for cut off. Integrated Headquarters,
Ministry of Defence (Navy) reserves the right to shortlist applications and to fix cut off percentage without assigning any reason. No communication will be entertained on this account. SSB interviews for short listed candidates will be scheduled at Bangalore/ Bhopal / Coimbatore during Jan to May 2011.

(b) SSB interview will be conducted in two Stages. Stage l test consisting of intelligence test, Picture Perception and Discussion test will be conducted on the second day of arrival at SSB. Candidates who fail to qualify in Stage I will be routed back on the same day. Stage II tests comprising of Psychological testing, Group testing and Interview will last for 04 days. Successful candidates will thereafter undergo Medical Examination (approx duration 03-05 days).

(C) Candidates recommended by the SSBs and declared medically fit wilt be appointed for training in Order of all India Merit depending on the number of vacancies

(d) Change of SSB Centre for interview is not permissible under any circumstance.
