Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA)

Applications are invited for admission to the following programmes

Eligibility Criteria

For PRM:

A graduate from any discipline, with a minimum of 15 years (10+2+3) of education, having 50 per cent (45 per cent for SC/ ST/ PwD) aggregate marks at the graduation level can apply for admission. The percentage of aggregate marks is to be calculated as per the practice followed by the concerned university or institution.

Those who are in the final year and who expect to complete all the requirements of graduation before June 06, 2011 can also apply. Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply for PRM. There is no management quota for admission to PRM at IRMA.

For FPRM:

Candidates with anyone of the following;

i) Post graduation in any discipline from a recognized Institution with 55% marks. and 50% marks at graduation level; (ii) PRM from IRMA; (iii) Four-year professional degree (engineering, agricultural sciences etc.} with 50% marks and at least one year work experience; (iv) Five- year professional degree [medicine, veterinary science, architecture etc.] with 60% marks are eligible for admission to FPRM.

SC / ST / OBC / PWD candidates are eligible for 5% relaxation in the marks specified above. Candidates, who expect to fulfill the eligibility requirements before June 06, 2011,may also apply.

Application Procedure

An applicant can opt for one of the following options:

a) Apply online and pay through payment gateway.

b. Make payment at any branch of IMS Learning Center, after getting IMS receipt apply only through IRMA website by using IMS receipt number.

c. Take a print out of SBI challan available on IRMA website in the admission link. Make payment at any branch of SBl by using the challan. SBI would then issue a unique ID number. Use this unique ID number and apply online through IRMA website.

d. Printed application material (prospectus. application forms, etc.) maybe obtained from Admission Office, IRMA, Anand – 388 001 on payment of full fees.

Prospectus and sample question papers will be sent to the candidates opting for options a and c after their application is received at IRMA. It is compulsory for all applicants to send a hard copy of application form at Admissions Office, IRMA, Anand – 388 001, Gujarat. Those applicants, who are using option b or c, are required to attach IMS Receipt or SBI challan respectively with the application form

Fellowship: Every FPRM participant receives a fellowship of Rs.14000/- per month till they clear the Comprehensive Qualifying Examination and then Rs.16000/- per month and a contingency grant of Rs.20,000/- per year for a period of four years.

Selection Procedure:

A written test, common for all the above programmes will be conducted on November 14, 2010 Sunday (09:15 - 12:15 hr) at 27 centres across India. PRM participants arc selected on the basis of the written test, group discussion and interview. FPRM participants are selected on the basis of the written test, interview and presentation of an essay. Candidates with PRM qualification from IRMA applying for FPRM are exempt from the written test.

Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management (IISWBM)

IISWBM Invites application for admission to Two year MBA (Session 2011-2013) and Two year MHRM (Session 2011-2013) Master Degree Courses of CALCUTTA UNIVERSITY

Eligibility Criteria

Honours Degree or its equivalent in any discipline/ Graduate in any professional course (Engineering, etc.), LLB (5 years) of a recognized University. Those who will be appearing in such examination within June 2011 may also apply.

Selection Procedure

Through COMMON ADMISSION TEST (CAT) of IIMs. IISWBM uses CAT for short listing the candidates. IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme. To appear in CAT minimum 50% marks is required, in Bachelors.

Nizams Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS)

Applications are invited from the eligible Candidates for admission into Part-Time PG Diploma in Clinical Research Course for 2010 session.

Eligibility Criteria

Bachelors Degree in Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Life Sciences with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in qualifying examination. Eligibility Criteria


(a) A Bachelor’s Degree of a minimum of 3 years duration or its equivalent (under the 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 or 10+2+2+1 year bridge course pattern of study or any other pattern fulfilling the mandatory requirements of 15 years formal education) from a recognised university, in any discipline. OR

(b) Candidates who will complete all the requirements of their final year Bachelor’s Degree examinations by Saturday, June 11, 2011, are also eligible to apply to all the programmes, except the four programmes offered by the School of Health Systems Studies; provided they have successfully completed their first and second years, if the degree course is of 3 years; and the first, second and third years, if the degree course is of 4 years. Candidates applying for the M.A. Education (Elementary) programme should complete all the requirements by May 8, 2011. In such cases, admission to any of the Master’s Degree Programmes of the Institute will be provisional. If a
provisionally admitted student fails in the final year examination, the offer of provisional admission automatically stands cancelled.

(c) Candidates applying for the Master of Public Health in Health Policy, Economics and Finance; and Master of Public Health in Social Epidemiology Programmes should have (i) A Master’s Degree in any discipline, or (ii) A Bachelor’s Degree in medicine/para-medical courses.

(d) Candidates who are in their final year Bachelor’s Degree Programme are not eligible to apply for admission to any of the Master’s Degree programmes, conducted by School of Health Systems Studies, i.e., Health Administration; Hospital Administration; Public Health in Social Epidemiology; and Public Health in Health Policy, Economics and Finance.

(e) Candidates applying for the Master in Habitat Policy and Practice should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Management, Physical Sciences, Geography, Planning, Law, or Social Sciences, with some inclination towards habitat related issues/sectors.

(f) Medical graduates should complete their internship on or before Saturday, June 10, 2011. Otherwise, their candidature/admission stands cancelled.

Application Procedure

All candidates are required to apply online through the E-application only, available on the Institute's website www.tiss.edu .

Candidates applying through the online mode should pay Rs. 800/- (if applying for one programme), Rs. 1600/- (if applying for two programmes) and Rs. 2,400/- (if applying for three programmes) by submitting a prescribed challan to any branch of the State Bank of India (this challan can be downloaded from the TISS website).

The portion of the prescribed challan marked for TISS should be sent along with the application and the portion marked for candidate should be preserved till the GD/PI gets over. The candidate will be able to download the challan once they fill up the complete details of the application form and before taking out a print of the filled-in application. Please note that the SBI will charge Rs. 50/- as their processing fee, which cannot be adjusted against the application fee.

For candidates applying online, payment has to be made only through the SBI, and the payment challan has to be submitted to the Institute along with the Application Form. If payment is made via demand draft, pay order or any other mode, the application will be rejected and no communication to this effect will be sent to such candidates.

Candidates from remote places where no Internet and telecommunication facilities are available can get OMR-based application form from the Institute by following the instructions given below:

(A) Please prepare a Demand Draft from any branch of the State Bank of India (SBI) drawn in favour of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, payable at SBI, Deonar, Mumbai (Branch Code 03109) for Rs. 800/- (if applying for only one programme), Rs. 1600/- (if applying for only two programmes), or Rs. 2400/- (if applying for three programmes).

(B) Please send the Demand Draft to the Assistant Registrar (Academic) of the Institute along with a self-addressed (A4-sized) cloth-lined or thick envelope with a postal stamp of Rs. 50/-, and a request letter containing details of address, contact number, etc. Requests coming without the postal stamp and Demand Draft will not be accepted.

Unemployed Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates, whose parent's/guardian's income is less than Rs. 1 lakh (Rupees one lakh only) are exempt from paying the Application Fee. They should apply online through the E-application, and if they are from remote places, they can send a request letter without the payment challan and stamped envelope, but with a request letter, a plain self-addressed envelope and copies of Caste and Income Certificates attested by any School headmaster or a Principal of College or a gazetted officer.

Requests received without the above Certificates will be rejected and no communication will be sent in this regard.

Eligibility Criteria

For MBA Full Time

Candidates applying for admission to the MBA full-time programme must have pursued at least a 3-year Bachelor's Degree programme after twelve years of formal schooling in any of the following disciplines. The minimum requisite percentage of marks in different disciplines is as follows:

Arts, Commerce or Social Sciences- 50%
Sciences- 55%
Mathematics or Statistics- 60%
Medicine, Engineering or Technology- 60%/ CGPA of at least 6 on a scale of 10 OR

Post Graduate Degree or IInd Degree examination after 10+2+3 scheme, securing at least 60%marks.

Relaxation of 5% marks in the minimum eligibility will be allowed only to candidates of the following categories (SC/ST/OBC/PH/CW).

For 3 Year Part Time MBA:

Candidates seeking admission to 3-year MBA programme should have passed a bachelor's degree examination of at least three years duration with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate. Relaxation of this criterion may be made for those who scored more than 55% marks in aggregate in their post-graduate degree or at least 60% in a Diploma in Personnel Management, Diploma in Sales & Marketing or Diploma in Administrative Management of Delhi University conducted by FMS in earlier years.

Candidates should have at least three years experience as an executive or an administrator in a commercial, industrial or government establishment after passing the Bachelor's Degree Examination.

Three years Full-Time experience shall be determined as on 1st August, 2011.

Candidates must be sponsored by his/her present employer.

For 3-year part time MBA (Health Care Administration) programme

Candidates seeking admission to MBA (HCA) programme should have passed a Bachelor’s Degree Examination in Medicine in the University of Delhi or an examination recognized as equivalent.

Should have at least five years of experience in Hospital Administration after acquiring the Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine.

Five years of experience shall be considered as on 1st August of the year of admission.

Candidate must be sponsored by his/her present employer.

Candidates applying to the programmes are required to visit FMS website (www.fms.edu ) and apply online. Applications will be received only through the online registration process.

Online registration opens on 6th September 2010 and closes on 15th October 2010

FMS Admissions Office will begin dispatching the Entrance Test Admit Cards for MBA (FT) and PhD candidates from the 2nd week of November 2010, and for MBA (PT) and MBA (PT) HCA candidates from the last week of December 2010.

All candidates applying to any of the FMS programmes are required to send back the acknowledgement form to FMS Office on or before 15th October 2010.
