IFS Main Exam 2014 Syllabus: General English

Candidates will be required to write an essay in English. Other questions will be designed to test their understanding of English and workmanlike use of words. Passages will usually be set for summary or precis.

IFS Main Exam 2014: Exam Pattern, Papers and Marks

The Indian Forest Service Main Examination 2014 consist of written examination and an interview test. The written examination will consist of 6 papers of conventional essay type:
Paper I - General English: 300 Marks
Paper II - General Knowledge: 300 Marks
Paper III, IV, V & VI - Any two subjects to be selected from the list of optional subjects set out below. Each subject will have two papers. 200 Marks for each paper
Total marks for written examination: 1400 Marks

Indian Forest Service Main Exam 2014 Time Table

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) New Delhi declared Exam Schedule for Indian Forest Services Main Examination 2014. Following are given the subject wise exam dates.

Date & Day: 22 November 2014, Saturday
Forenoon Session: 9.30 AM to 12.30 PM
Subjects: General English

Afternoon Session: 2 PM to 5PM
Subjects: General Knowledge

Indian Forest Service Examination 2014

The Indian Forest Service Examination / IFS Exam is organized by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) New Delhi for the selection of Forest Officers in various India Government Posts and Services. These services come under the purview of Ministry of Environment & Forests of Government of India. IFS Exam also sometimes referred as IFoS Exam so as to separate it from Indian Foreign Service (IFS). Graduate students from any recognized board or university are eligible to appear for IFoS Exam.
