National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (I) – 2010

The Union Public Service Commission will hold the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (I), 2010 on 18th April, 2010 for admission to Army, Navy and Air Force Wings of NDA for 125th Course and Naval Academy for 45th 10+2 (Executive Branch) Course commencing from 30th December, 2010. :

CONDITIONS OF ELIGIBILITY

(a) Age Limits, Sex and Marital Status:

Only unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January, 1992 and not later than 1st July, 1994 are eligible.

(b) Educational Qualifications:

(i) For Army Wing of National Defence Academy: - 12th Class pass of 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

(ii) For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for 10+2 (Executive Branch) Course of Naval Academy:- 12th Class pass of the10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics, conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

Candidates who are appearing in 12th Class under 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply for this Examination.

(c) Physical Standards:

Candidates must be physically fit according to the physical standards for admission to National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (I), 2010 as given in Appendix-V of Commission’s Notice for the Examination published in Employment news/Rozgar Samachar
dated 17th October, 2009.

APPLICATION FORM :

The Candidates must apply in the Common Application Form devised by the Commission for its examinations which can be purchased from the designated Head Post Offices/Post Offices (specified in Appendix-lll of the Notice) throughout the country against cash payment of Rs.20/-
(Rupees twenty only). Each such Form can be used only once and only for one examination.

In case of any difficulty in obtaining Application Forms from the designated HPOs/POs, the candidates should immediately contact the concerned Post Master or UPSC’s "FORMS SUPPLY MONITORING CELL" over Telephone No.011- 23389366/Fax No.011- 23387310.

FEE :

Rs.50/- (Rupees fifty only) through Central Recruitment Fee Stamp only. SC/ST candidates are exempted from payment of Fee. (OBC candidates are required to pay full fee).

Uttarakhand Judicial Service – Civil Judge (Junior Division) Examination – 2009

1. Applications on prescribed OMR form and on conventional type format are invited for appearing in a written examination which will be conducted by the Commission for recommending suitable candidates to the State Govt. for appointment on the post of Civil Judge (Junior Division).

The candidate may obtain ‘OMR‘ application form from any of the designated post offices, mentioned under Sl. No.-14 of the detailed advertisement by paying the requisite fee to the post office as mentioned in Sl.No. -13(1) and 14 of the detailed advertisement. The format for conventional type application is given in Appendix - 3 of the detailed advertisement.

In case of large number of applications for the post, the Commission may hold a preliminary written entrance (screening) examination under intimation to the Hon`ble Uttarakhand High Court and as per the direction issued by the Hon‘ble Uttarakhand High Court on 28-03-2008 in writ petition No.- 163(S/B) of 2007 Malik Mazhar Sultan V/s Public Service Commission Uttarakhand and others, the Commission will also hold a practical examination to test the ’Basic Knowledge of Computer Operation` of those candidates who are declared successful on the basis of the preliminary written entrance examination. The dates, time and venue of the examination, as decided by the Commission, will be intimated to the candidates later by means of Admission Card or Office Memorandum.

A candidate for direct recruitment to the post of Civil Judge (Junior Division) must possess (a) A Bachelor of Law from a University established by law in Uttarakhand or by other University of India recognized for this purpose by the Governor; (b) Thorough knowledge of Hindi in Devnagari script; (c) Basic knowledge of Computer operation.

A candidate for direct recruitment to a post in the service must be-
(a) a citizen of India; or

(b) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India: or

(c) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka or any of the East African countries of Kenya, Uganda and the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanzania and Zanzibar) with the intention of permanently settling in India:

7. Age:

A candidate for direct recruitment to the service must have attained the age of twenty two years and must not have attained the age of more than thirty five years on the first day of January of the year in which recruitment is to be made.

Provided that the upper age limit in the case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes and such other categories as may be notified by the State Government from time to time shall be greater by such number of years as may be prescribed.

Fellowship : The selected Indian students will be awarded a Government of India fellowship initially for one year only and is extendable on yearly basis as per rules of the Institute. Each eligible candidate with NET qualification for lecturership only either in Population Studies or its interdisciplinary subjects will be awarded the Government of India fellowship @ Rs. 12,000/- per month for first and second years and Rs. 14,000/- per month for the third year respectively. Each fellowship carries a contingency grant of Rs.10,000/- for the first two years and Rs. 20,500/- for the third year. However, the candidates without NET qualification for lecturership shall be awarded the Government of India fellowship @ Rs. 6,250/- p.m. for first and second years and Rs. 7,000/- p.m. for third year respectively with an annual contingency grant of Rs. 10,000/-.

Ph.D. in Engineering:

a] Candidates with a Master’s degree in Engineering / Technology with a good academic record or a Master’s degree by Research in Engineering / Technology with a good academic record.

b) Candidates with Master’s degree in Sciences with a good academic record and of exceptional merit where eligible, for the relevant Engineering discipline and with a valid GATE score or UGC / CSIR NET / NBHM or equivalent qualification in the relevant area tenable for the year of registration.

In the case of candidates with more than 5 years relevant experience after the Master’s degree, the requirement of a test score may be waived by the Selection Committee.

c] Candidates who have qualified for the award of Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology with exceptionally good academic record in an eligible discipline will be considered for direct admission to Ph.D. Programme as a regular full time scholar subject to the following conditions:

- a B.Tech degree holder of an IIT with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 on a 10 point scale or with a valid GATE score.

- a Bachelor’s degree holder in Engineering / Technology from any other University should be among the top 10 rank holders in the University and having a valid GATE score.

- a Bachelor’s degree holder in Engineering / Technology from a reputed R & D organisation and having a proven research record.

Ph.D. in Sciences:

a) Master’s degree in Sciences with a good academic record and having a valid GATE score or UGC / CSIR NET / NBHM or equivalent qualification tenable for the current year in the relevant area.

b) Master’s degree in Engineering / Technology where eligible with a good academic record.

c) B.Tech degree holder of an IIT where eligible with a minimum of CGPA of 8.0 on a 10.0 point scale or with a valid GATE Score.

Ph.D. in Humanities and Social Sciences:

Master’s degree in an eligible discipline with a good academic record or equivalent and having a valid GATE score or UGC / CSIR NET / NBHM or equivalent qualification tenable for the current year in the relevant area.

Ph.D in Management:

Masters degree or equivalent PG Diploma or Associateship in a relevant discipline, and a Bachelor’s degree with a good academic record OR Five year integrated masters degree/ dual degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline with a good academic record AND

Qualifying in national level examinations such as JMET / CAT / MAT / ATMA / GATE / UGCor CSIR / NET JRF or Lectureship or equivalent or international level post graduate admission examination such as GMAT / GRE or equivalent. OR

At least 5 years of managerial experience in lieu of the above examination. (This clause is only for Non-HTRA candidates)

Master's degree in Engineering / Technology with a good academic record or a Master’s degree by Research in Engineering / Technology in a relevant discipline are exempted from qualifying in National level examinations.

For Institute staff members / Research Scholars under QIP / Research Scholars under External Registration / Research Scholars working on part-time basis:

For Research Scholars in the above categories, the minimum educational qualifications are the same as prescribed for Regular (full time) Research Scholars in for admission to the Ph.D. Programme in the respective categories.

However, valid GATE score or CSIR/UGC NET / NBHM /JMET / CAT / AIMA / JRF or Lectureship or equivalent qualification as applicable for regular (full time) research scholars may not be required in these cases.

Minimum Educational Qualifications for M.S:

For Regular (full time) Research Scholars:

M.S. in Engineering / Entrepreneurship / Management:

a) Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology with valid GATE score or a Master’s degree in appropriate Sciences Management / Humanities and Social Sciences where eligible with a good academic record and a valid GATE score or CSIR / UGC NET / NBHM / JEMT / CAT / AIMA or equivalent qualification tenable for the current year in the relevant areas.

b) Candidates having Associate Membership of the following professional bodies will also be eligible for admission to the M.S. programme of their parent discipline provided they have a valid GATE score and have passed both part A and part B of the Membership examinations with a good academic record.

The Institution of Engineers (India) (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communications), the Aeronautical society of India, the Indian Institute of Metals, the Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers, the Institute of Electronics and Tele-communication Engineering and other professional bodies approved by the Senate from time to time.

College of Nursing AFMC Pune





B.Sc. (Nursing) / General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) Course - 2010

Applications are invited from FEMALE candidates for admission to 4 years B.Sc. (Nursing) Course commencing in Aug, 2010 at College of Nursing AFMC Pune and 3 & ½ years Training of Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery course commencing in Sept 2010 at various Armed Forces Hospitals.

Selected candidates shall execute an agreement/Bond to serve in the Military Nursing Service (MNS) for 5 years, On successful completion of Nursing Training (4/ 3 & ½ yrs), the candidates will be granted commission in the Military Nursing Service, under the terms & conditions laid down for grant of such commission. They shall have to refund the entire cost of training in the event of withdrawal from the course, termination of training or refusal to accept commission in the MNS, if offered. During training they will be provided with free ration, accommodation, uniform allowance and monthly stipend.

Eligibility Conditions :

(a) Female candidates who are, unmarried/divorcee/legally separated or widow without encumbrances.

(b) Nationality - Indian

(c) Date of Birth -Between 01 Aug 85 and 31 Jul 93.

(d) Educational Qualification- Should have passed in the FIRST ATTEMPT the complete senior secondary (10+2)/equivalent examination from a recognized Board/University with Physics, Chemistry and Biology with minimum 50% aggregate marks as a regular student. Candidates who have appeared or will be appearing for final year of qualifying examination during the current academic session may also apply. The candidates finally selected for the course will have to submit proof of passing the qualifying exam before joining the course. Those who have passed such examinations as private students or with compartment in any subject are not eligible.

(e) Physical standards- Medical fitness will be determined as per Military Standards by Military Authorities. X-Ray examination of chest will be done.

Selection : Eligible applicants will be called for an objective type written test of 90 minutes duration covering General English, Biology and General Intelligence, likely to be held in Jan/Feb 2010, The parts of question paper pertaining to Biology and General intelligence will be bilingual.

Candidates as per merit on the basis of written test will be called for interview during Mar/April 2010.

Final selection will be based on combined merit subject to medical fitness.

Medical Examination : After the interview the recommended candidates will have to appear for medical examination before a Special Medical Board (SMB). Candidates declared FIT/UNFIT will be informed by the President of the Medical Board including the procedure for requesting for APPEAL/REVIEW MEDICAL BOARD.

Written Examination Centres : Bangalore.Chandimandir, Chennai, Denradun, Delhi, Danapur, Guwahati, Jabalpur, Jammu, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Secunderabad, Thiruvananthapuram and Vishakapatnam. The number of centers may change as per the number of candidates for the written test.

Note : If sufficient number of candidates are not available at any centre, the candidates posting for that centre will be allotted the centre of their second choice.

How to apply.

(a) Apply on plain paper A4 size as per the format given in the advertisement (to be typed in Block Letters). (b) Applications received after the last date, will neither be opened nor be entertained. (c) Applications received on newspaper cutting or its photocopy will not be accepted.

The list of enclosures to be attached (PHOTO COPIES ONLY) with the application are as follows:-

(a) Attested copy of matric/equivalent certificate showing DATE OF BIRTH. (b) Attested copy of complete Mark Sheet of Senior Secondary (10+2)/equi. exam. In case, subject codes and maximum marks are given on rear side, copies of BOTH SIDES are essential. (Candidates appearing in qualifying examination (10+2 / equivalent exam should enclose certificate to the same effect from the Principal of the School.

(c) Attested copy of Caste Certificate in case of SC/ST candidates. (d) Gap Certificate in case the time gap between 10th or 12th class is more than two years from concerned school/College that candidate passed complete Sr secondary exam in the First Attempt as a regular student. (e) Four copies of Admit Card on A4 size paper with passport size photo (without attestation ) duly pasted in the space provided. If the photograph is not properly pasted and is stapled/loosely affixed and gets detached while in transit/handling, the application of such candidate is liable to be rejected. (f) Four self-addressed envelopes (good quality) of size 27x12 cms with Postal Stamps of Rs. 6/- be fixed on each envelope: (g) An affidavit stating that you are issueless (in case of widows/divorcees) (h) Legal documents of the divorcee and an affidavit that the matter is not under consideration with the higher court. These documents should be neatly tagged.

Similar and recent Photo on the application form as well as on the admit cards should be pasted and not stapled. DGMS-4B will not be held responsible for loss of any documents while handling at any stage.

Note : The selection of the candidate for B.Sc (Nsg) / GNM course will however be subject to producing of the mark sheet/ certificate of the qualifying examination (10+2) or equivalent before final selection and meeting all other eligibility conditions.
