Any candidate who is citizen of India and has passed an examination for four years Degree of Bachelor of Engineering/Technology of the University of Mumbai or any equivalent degree is deemed eligible for admission to the post graduate programmes leading to Masters of Technology (M. Tech.) in specific branch in which the candidate has obtained the Bachelor’s degree.

Admission to Full Time and Part Time, M.E./ M.Tech./ M.Arch. / MBA (Infrastructure Mgmt) Courses offered by

University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE), Bangalore, Bangalore University, Bangalore;

Eligibility Criteria

For Admission to M.E./ M.Tech./ M.Arch./ MBA (Infrastructure Management) Course (Full-Time) : Course is open for

i) Candidates who have passed the prescribed Qualifying Examinations as specified in the brochure with not less than 50% of the marks in aggregate of all the semesters / years of the degree examination (cumulative sum of secured marks of all the semesters / years divided by the sum of the maximum marks). However, in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST and CAT-1, marks shall not be less than 45 %.

ii) Candidates who have appeared for the qualifying examination and expecting the result within the last date as prescribed by the PGCET cell.

For Admission to M.E./ M.Tech./ M.Arch. (Part-Time): in addition to the qualification prescribed above, the candidates must have worked for not less than three years (after qualifying examination, experience is considered up to the date of notification ie 17-5-2010) in an establishment and must be working in an organization situated within a radial distance of 40 km from the institution in which the candidate seeks admission. However, the employer has to fill-up the NOC duly signed by the competent authority which is in item No. 15 of the application form.

Application Procedure

Candidates shall download blank application form from www.vtu.ac.in or http://pgcet.vtu.ac.in and take a print out of the same on an A4 size paper only.

Candidates should submit the completely filled application form, to the PGCET Cell, either in person or may send by post / courier along with the following documents.

1. One set of attested photocopies (attested by the gazette officer) of all the relevant documents. Original Documents need not be sent along with the completed application form)

2. A D.D. for Rs. 600/- (Rs. 300/- only for Karnataka SC/ST & Cat- I, on production of documentary proof) drawn in favour of Member Secretary CPAC, payable at Belgaum .

3. A self addressed envelope of size 12” x 10” (without affixing any postal stamp) for dispatching the Brochure.

Admission Procedure

1) For NON-GATE candidates only: Written test will be conducted on 18-07-2010 (Sunday) from i) 11.00 am. To 1.00 p.m. for VTU, UBDTCE and UVCE M.E./M.Tech./ M.Arch./ MBA (Infrastructure Mgmt.) courses and ii) 2.00 pm. To 4.00 pm., for PG Department of Kuvempu University and University of Mysore M.Tech. courses, at various centers as specified in the brochure.

2) GATE candidates with valid GATE score are given preference for admission. They have to apply by downloading the application form along with prescribed fee; however they are exempted from appearing for the written test.

Eligibility Criteria

For M.Tech.
All the candidates wishing to seek admission should hold GATE score card of exam 2010. Candidates also should have passed B.E. / B.Tech. or equivalent degree in the respective branches of Engineering.

However, candidates will be eligible for availing assistantship (Stipend) only if the marks (GATE score) secured are more than or equal to qualifying marks in the category under which the candidate seeks admission.

Merit list will be based on the GATE score of the candidates.

Marks obtained in GATE 2010 by the candidates seeking admission to M. Tech. program in VLSI design and Computer Science & Engineering should be greater than or equal to the qualifying marks in the category under which the candidate is seeking admission.

The application form is available on web-site and can be downloaded. The completed application form along with attested copies of the documents and crossed DD of amount Rs. 500/- (non-refundable) towards processing fee, drawn in favour of The Director, VNIT, Nagpur payable at Nagpur, must reach the Dy. Registrar (Academic), VNIT, South Ambazari Road, Nagpur-440 010.
