Eligibility Criteria


Faculty of Arts, Languages, Science, Education, Design and Fine Arts, Law, And Engineering

Any candidate who has passed the Master’s examination in the concerned subject with a score of at least 55% (50% for SC/ST Category) marks in aggregate, or have appeared in the final year examination of Master’s degree in the subject concerned from Panjab University or any other University (approved by the appropriate Academic Bodies of P.U.), shall also be eligible to appear for the Ph.D. Entrance Test.

For Business Management

Any candidate who has obtained Master’s degree with not less than 55% (50% for SC/ST Category) marks in the aggregate, from Panjab University or from any other University (approved by the Academic Council) in anyone of the following subjects: -

(i) Commerce or Management OR

(ii) Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Sociology, Psychology, Public
Administration, Operations Research, Social Work, Engineering and
Laws. OR

(iii) Any subject other than those mentioned in (i) and (ii) above provided that the candidate has either not less than 5 years’ work experience at the managerial (including administrative service) level or is a member of the Faculty in the Department of University Business School, Panjab University with not less than 5 years’ experience of teaching postgraduate classes.

(iv) Master of Finance and Control (MFC).

Provided further that candidates with qualification, mentioned in (ii) & (iii) above shall be eligible for enrolment only if the area of research relates to the Faculty of Business Management and Commerce.

The Prospectus (including application form) is available for sale from 8th July 2010 on cash payment of Rs. 1700/- (Rs.850/- in case of SC/ST candidates) in Post Office, Sector 14, Chandigarh only.

Application Form along with Admit Card can be downloaded from University Website www.puchd.ac.in . In this case attach bank draft for Rs. 1700/- (Rs. 850/- for SC/ST) drawn in favour of the Registrar, P.U., payable at Chandigarh, and two self addressed envelopes size 10”x4”, duly stamped for Rs. 22/- each.

The Indian Navy (IN)

National Testing Service India (NTSI)

The NTS-India invites applications from post graduates / researchers of any discipline of study for the award of 30 Doctoral, and 15 Post Doctoral fellowships (including two Doctoral and one Post Doctoral fellowships for North-Eastern Region) for the year 2010-11 .

The fellowships will be equally distributed among the three languages viz., Hindi,Tamil, and Urdu.

This is initiated with a view to promote research in the interdisciplinary area of testing and evaluation. The research topic may be in any discipline but with a component on testing and evaluation.

Eligibility Criteria

The applicant should have studied one of the above 3 languages under Part – I / Part II upto the graduate level. If the applicants are from other disciplines such as engineering, medicine, agriculture, management, etc., they should have studied one of these languages upto Higher Secondary level.

Note: The value of fellowship for doctoral research is Rs. 10,000/- per month with a contingency of Rs. 20,000/- per annum; for post doctoral research Rs. 12,000/- per month with a contingency of Rs.30,000/- per annum. The period of the fellowship is 2 years and may be extended by one more year based on a strict assessment procedure in deserving cases when the need arises.
