Eligibility Criteria:
For Higher Degree Programme: candidates obtaining a minimum of aggregate 60% marks in the qualifying degree examinations.
For Ph.D. Programme: M.E./M.Pharm./MBA/M.Phil of BITS or its equivalent with a minimum of 60% aggregate in the qualifying examination. Any Applicant with an M.Sc./ B.E./ B.Pharm or their equivalent degree with a minimum of 60% aggregate may be considered for Ph.D. admission but has to do prescribed additional course work.
Industries and R&D organizations collaborating with BITS can sponsor candidates to work for Ph.D. under the "Ph.D. aspirants scheme".

Admission to Under Graduate Programme in Engineering
Eligibility Criteria
1. Date of birth
For GE and OBC categories, only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 1, 1986 are eligible to appear in JEE-2011. SC, ST, and PD candidates who are born on or after October 1, 1981 are eligible to appear in JEE-2011.
The date of birth as recorded in the high school/first Board/Pre-University certificate will be accepted. If the certificate does not mention the date of birth, a candidate must submit, an authenticated document indicating the date of birth.
2. Year of passing Qualifying Examination (QE)
A candidate must have passed the QE for the first time, on or after October 1, 2009 or will be appearing in 2011.
Those who are going to appear in the QE later than October 1, 2011 are not eligible to apply for JEE-2011.
The qualifying examinations (QEs) are listed below:
The final examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by any recognized central / state Board, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi; Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi; etc.
Intermediate or two-year Pre-University examination conducted by a recognized Board / University.
Final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.
General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London / Cambridge / Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
Any Public School/Board/University examination in India or in any foreign country recognized as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
H.S.C. vocational examination.
Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects.
3 year Diploma recognized by AICTE or a state Board of technical education.
In case the relevant qualifying examination is not a public examination, the candidate must have passed at least one public (Board or Pre-University) examination at an earlier level.
Minimum percentage of marks in QE
Candidates belonging to GE and OBC categories must secure at least 60% marks in aggregate in their QE. SC, ST and PD candidates must secure at least 55% marks in aggregate in their QE.
The percentage of marks awarded by the Board will be treated as final. If the Board does not award the percentage of marks, it will be calculated based on the marks obtained in all subjects listed in the mark sheet. If any Board awards only letter grades without providing an equivalent percentage of marks on the grade sheet, the candidate should obtain a certificate from the Board specifying the equivalent marks, and submit it at the time of counselling / admission. In case such a certificate is not provided then the final decision rests with the Joint Implementation Committee of JEE-2011.

a Master’s degree in any discipline, with at lease 55 per cent marks (High second class) and at least 50% marks at Bachelor’s degree level
OR
a Bachelor’s degree with complete professional qualifications like CA, ICWA, CS with at least 55 percent marks and with minimum of two years post-qualification work experience OR
a B.E./B.Tech. Degree with at least 60 per cent marks with a minimum of two years’ post-qualification work experience.
Those appearing for the final year Master’s degree examination or its equivalent may also apply, subject to completion of all the requirements before the registration date, i.e. end- June of the current year.
Candidates who are in the final year of their Master’s Programme are eligible to apply. Such candidates, if selected will be permitted to join the programme provisionally subject to the submission of a certificate, issued on or before June 30 2011, from the head of the institution implicitly emphasizing that they have completed all requirements for obtaining the degree before June 30, 2011.
