Eligibility Criteria


For College of Veterinary Science:
A Master’s level degree in the respective discipline with a minimum OCPA of 7.00 (out of 10.00) or 70% marks or equivalent and with a minimum OCPA of 5.50 (out of 10.00) or 55% marks or an OGPA of 2.00/4.00 or equivalent in the B.V.Sc/A.H or equivalent programme.

For Animal Biotechnology: A Master’s level degree in the respective discipline with a minimum OCPA of 7.00 (out of 10.00) or 70% marks or equivalent and with a minimum OCPA of 5.50 (out of 10.00) or 55% marks or an OGPA of 2.00/4.00 or equivalent in the B.V.Sc/A.H. or B.Sc (Biotechnology/ Medical) or B.Sc (Hons) Biotechnology/Biochemistry/ Microbiology and Molecular Genetics or equivalent programme.

For Aquaculture: A Master’s level degree in aquaculture with a minimum OCPA of 7.00 (out of 10.00) or 70% marks or equivalent and with a minimum OCPA of 6.50 (out of 10.00) or 55% marks or an OGPA of 2.00/4.00 or equivalent in the B.F.Sc programme.

Application Procedure

Prospectus containing details about the admission procedure, reservation of seats etc along with application forms can be obtained from the office of the Dean, College of Vety Science, GADVASU, Ludhiana-141004 either by sending crossed bank draft for Rs 950/- drawn in favour of the comptroller, GADVASU, Ludhiana and payable at any scheduled bank at Ludhiana or personally from the office of the Dean, College of Vety Science, GADVASU, Ludhiana from 9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. on all working days on payment of Rs 900/- in cash

Prospectus and application forms will be sent under postal certificate and university will not be responsible for any postal delay or loss in the transit.

Eligibility Criteria:

Eligibility for direct candidates: Application must have passed the 10+2 examination of a recognized board with science i.e. medical group (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English)

Eligibility for in-service candidates: In service candidate must have passed matric with science examination from any recognized board and having diploma/certificate course in the concerned specialty (Lab Technician/Assistant, Radiology and OTA) awarded by DHS or DME in which the applicant intends to complete and having minimum 10 years experience in govt service in the Health and Family welfare department and Ayurveda deptt of Himachal Pradesh; or

Must have passed 10+2 examination of any recognized university/ board with science with 5 years experience in Health and Family Welfare and Ayurveda Deptt in the concerned specialty (Lab Technicians/ Assistant, Radiology, OTA) in which the applicant intends to complete

If the in-service candidate is not available or fail to qualify the seat shall be converted to the direct category and will be filled up as per reservation roster point

The prospectus containing detailed information regarding eligibility for direct candidates and in service candidates can be obtained from in academic branch of the Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla w.e.f. 08th November, 2010 onward at the counter on cash payment of Rs 500/-

The prospectus by post can be obtained by sending a bank draft to Rs 550/- in the name of Principal, Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla

Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST)

IIST Ph.D. Programme February 2011

Applications are invited from highly motivated candidates for admission to the Ph.D. Programme starting in February 2011 in the areas of Aerospace Engineering, Avionics, Chemistry, Earth and Space Sciences, Mathematics and Physics.

Eligibility Criteria

Master’s degree in the relevant area with first class or equivalent. However, outstanding candidates with Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with an excellent academic record and aptitude for research may be considered for direct admission to the Ph.D. Programme. Candidates with Masters Degree in basic science subjects must be NET qualified (JRF) to be considered for the Ph.D. programme.

Age Limit: Applicant should be below 28 yrs as on 19-11-2010. Age relaxation will be as per Govt. of India Rules.

Applicant should be an Indian citizen

Application form can be downloaded from IIST website www.iist.ac.in

Duly filled application form along with attested copies of documents mentioned in the application form should be sent to The Administrative Officer, IIST, Valiamala Post, Thiruvananthapuram – 695547 with the superscription “Application for IIST Ph.D. Programme”.

Application form should be accompanied by a fee of Rs. 250/- (Rs. 125/- for SC / ST candidates) in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of The Registrar, IIST payable at Thiruvananthapuram.

Selection Procedure: Selection will be based on a written test followed by an interview.

1. Candidates will be short-listed based on Academic records and other relevant criteria like research experience, National Eligibility Tests, etc.

2. All short-listed candidates will be required to appear for a written test in their relevant areas (Aerospace Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Computer Science / Control System / Physics / Chemistry / Polymer Technology/ Mathematics / Atmospheric Sciences / Remote Sensing).

3. Written test of two hours duration will be conducted at IIST, Trivandrum during 3rd / 4th week of December 2010.

4. The written test will aim to evaluate the basic understanding of the relevant subject area. The test may contain both descriptive and objective questions.

5. Candidates qualified in the written test will be required to appear for an interview the following day.

6. List of candidates eligible for written test and the dates of written test / interview will be displayed in IIST website by 25th November 2010.

7. Selected candidates will be intimated within a week of the final interview. Results will also be displayed in our website.

8. Outstation candidates will be paid to and fro sleeper class train fare by shortest route, or actual fare (whichever is lower) for attending the test / interview.
