One Year Postgraduate Diploma in Mineral Engineering

Eligibility

The candidates working in industries can apply under Sponsored category. Those of the applicants who are not employed in industries can apply under Non-sponsored category.

Applicants under both sponsored and non-sponsored categories have to fulfil the eligibility criteria as regards qualification, experience and age limit.

Final year engineering students can apply under non-sponsored category with grade score up to 7th semester. If selected, they will be provisionally admitted to the programme.

Their continuation in the programme will be subjected to securing required percentage/equivalent grade (depending on the cut off marks for screening) and submission of marks-sheet of their final result by October 30, 2010.

The applicant must have scored a first class in the qualifying examination. However the requirement of first class in the qualifying examination may be waived in case of sponsored candidates with at least three years' experience.

Qualifying Examination:

Degree in Engineering / Tech. or equivalent in Chemical, Mechanical, Metallurgical, Mineral and Mining Engineering from any recognized University / Institute.

Sponsored candidates with M.Sc. degree in Chemistry and Geology will also be considered.

Reservation:

Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PH etc. will be as per rules in respect of ‘non-sponsored’ candidates only.

Age:
The age limit for the ‘non-sponsored’ candidates will be 30 years and there will be no age limit for ‘sponsored’ candidates. The age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates (only in the ‘non-sponsored’ category) will be extended as per rules.

Application Procedure

Interested candidates should download the application form and send duly filled application, along with the application fee of Rs. 500/- (Rs.250/- for SC/ST candidates applying in non-sponsored category) and necessary certificates.

The application fee should be paid in form of a crossed Demand Draft drawn in favor of “PG Diploma in Mineral Engineering” payable at Bhubaneswar.

The filled in application, along with the application fee and other enclosures, should reach “The Program Coordinator, PG Diploma in Mineral Engineering, IMMT (formerly RRL), Bhubaneswar - 751013, Orissa, India.” on or before June 15 2010.

The Institute shall not be held responsible for any postal delay or otherwise.

List of enclosures to be attached:

- Color photograph (passport size) - 1 no. [in addition to the one on Application]
- DD towards application fee.
- Photo copy of certificates and mark sheets from HSC (10th) on wards.
- Sponsorship certificate for sponsored candidate.
- Caste certificate for non-sponsored candidate seeking reservation.

Selection is based on academic career & experience (only for sponsored candidates) of the candidate and also the performance in the interview.

Candidates, short listed based on the academic career only for non-sponsored category and both academic career and industrial experience for sponsored category, will be called for interview.

Admission will be based on final merit list, prepared based on academic career, experience (only for sponsored candidates) and interview.

The Institute will fix the intake from different disciplines as per the requirement.

The decision of the Director, IMMT will be the final in this matter.

Any legal dispute arising out of the admission to one year PG Diploma in Mineral Engineering program will be under the jurisdiction of appropriate courts of Bhubaneswar only.

Applications invited for MSc Operational Research and MA/M.SC Applied Operational Research Programmes

Eligibility Criteria

(a) Any Master’s Degree examination of the University of Delhi or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto with at least two papers in Mathematics/ Computer Science/ Statistics/Operational Research at graduation/ higher level. (55% marks in aggregate)

OR

(b) Any Bachelor’s Degree examination under 10+2+3 scheme of examination of the University of Delhi or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto with at least two papers in Mathematics/ Computer Science/Operational Research/ Statistics. (55% marks in aggregate)

Note:

1) The candidates who are appearing in the final year examination of the degree on the basis of which admission is sought are also eligible to apply.

2) Applicants who have graduated under the 10+2+3 scheme or an equivalent scheme are eligible for admission.

3) Relaxation of 5% marks in the minimum eligibility conditions will be allowed to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates.

Application Procedure

(a) Entrance Test fee:

As the Eligibility Conditions are same for admission to both the Courses M.Sc. Operational Research Part-I at North Campus and M.A./M.Sc. Applied Operational Research Part-I at South Campus, the candidates may opt for admission to both the courses. Accordingly, the Common Entrance Test fee would be as follows fro M.Sc. Operational Research and/or M.A./ M.Sc. Applied Operational Research:

Entrance Test Fee for General Category – Rs.800/-
Entrance Test Fee for Scheduled Tribe/OBC – Rs.400/-

(b) Mode of Payment:

Payment should be made by crossed Bank Draft in favor of “Registrar, University of Delhi” payable at New Delhi.

For obtaining the bulletin and application form by post, the Bank Draft only along with a self-addressed stamped (worth Rs.30/-) envelope (size 10”x7”) should be sent to the:

(c) Common Entrance Test

It will consist of written test, group discussion and interview.

(i) Written Test (80%) - It will be of 3 hrs duration with multiple choice questions.

(ii) Group Discussion (10%)

(iii) Interview (10%)

Based on the performance in written test, a consolidated merit list consisting of 3 times of the number of seats available for admission in each course would be prepared for group discussion and interview.

Note: In all cases the decision of the Mathematical Sciences Courses Admission
Committee will be final and binding on the candidates.

Admission Ticket:

The Admission Tickets will be issued by post only. In case of non-receipt of the Admission Ticket, a request may be made to the Department with two copies of photograph and Serial Number of Application Form, not earlier than three days before the date of the Common Entrance Test date, for issue of a Duplicate Admission Ticket. The candidate will be required to show the Admission Ticket at the time of the test. No candidate will be admitted to the Examination Hall without the Admission Ticket.

Eligibility
A. B.Sc. Nursing (4 years) - only for female candidates:

a) The minimum educational requirement shall be 10+2 examination passed with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English or any other examination as equivalent thereto with at least 50% in aggregate.

Candidates appearing in April-May 2011 can also apply for the said exam, but they will be issued roll numbers only if they furnish the certificates from the respective Boards of their having passed the +2 examination (15 days by post or 5 days by hand) before the date of entrance test.

b) AGE LIMIT: Not more than 25 years and not less than 17 years on 1st September, 2011 i.e. those born after 1st September, 1994 and before 1st September 1986 are not eligible.

B. B.Sc. Nursing (Post-Basic):

a) Must have passed 10+2 or any other examination or its equivalent thereto.

b) Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife qualified from a recognized institute and registered with respective State Nursing Council as approved by Indian Nursing Council (I.N.C) or substitute registration in case of male candidates fully qualified for nursing of men, women and children.

In case, the candidate is in service, the application should route through the employer.

C. M.Sc. Nursing:

a) B.Sc. Nursing/B.Sc. Nursing (Post-Basic) or any other degree from the Institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council and PGIMER, Chandigarh as equivalent thereto with at least 55% marks in aggregate.

b) Should have minimum one year of work experience after registration as Registered Nurse & Registered Midwife by 15th July of the year in bedside nursing or public health nursing or in nursing educational institutions recognized by the Indian Nursing Council after B.Sc. Nursing (4 years) or before and after Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing.

c) Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife as approved by INC or substitute registration in the case of male candidates fully qualified for nursing of men, women and children.

In case, the candidate is in service, the application should route through the employer.

Application Procedure


Before applying, candidates are advised to go through the admission notice and the instructions given therein carefully and then fill in the application form enclosed/attached with this prospectus.

Application for admission to the course is required to be submitted on the prescribed form enclosed with the prospectus. The candidates shall submit all the documents (attested Photostat copies) in support of their particulars filled in the application form.

The candidate must write the name of the course carefully under the column ‘Name of the Course Applied for’.

The application complete in all respects accompanied with two self addressed envelop of 23x10cm. with Rs.10/- postage stamp on it and all the relevant documents should reach the Officer-in-charge, National Institute of Nursing Education, PGI, Chandigarh, either personally or by Registered post by 28.5.2011 for M.Sc. Nursing. and 10.6.2011 for both B.Sc. Nursing courses.

The applications received after the closing date will not be accepted.

The Institute takes no responsibility for any delay in the receipt or loss of application or Admit Card/Roll No. in transit. Incomplete applications will not be entertained and no correspondence will be made in this regard.

The fact that an application form has been supplied on a certain date will not be accepted as an excuse for the late submission of the application. The supply of the application form does not ipso facto make the receiver eligible for admission to the selection tests.

The candidate belonging to Scheduled Castes/Tribes are required to furnish a certificate from the District Magistrate/Additional District Magistrate/Collector/Deputy Commissioner, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Deputy Collector/Ist Class Stipendiary Magistrate, *Sub Divisional Magistrate, Taluka Magistrate/Executive Magistrate/Extra Assistant Chief Presidency Magistrate/Presidency Magistrate, Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar, Sub Divisional Officer of the area where the candidate and/or his family normally resides. Administrator/Secretary to Administrator/Development Officer (Lakshdweep Islands) in support of their claims.

The candidates must supply an English Translation of their caste certificate along with the application.

*Not below the rank of 1st Class Stipendiary Magistrate.

The applicants belonging to OBC are required to furnish a certificate as per instructions prescribed by the government of India.

No request for a change in category/subject applied for is entertained after the submission of the application to the Institute.

University of Delhi, DU announces admission test schedule for MSc programs, academic year 2011-13. However, 50% of the total available seats shall be reserved for DU students on basis of merit of marks obtained in B.Sc Hons examinations.

Admission test for admission to the following courses is being conducted to fill up 50% seats of total intake on the basis of merit in the entrance test for which entrance test dates are mentioned here-

On remitting a crossed bank draft of Rs 100/- for each course in favour of the registrar, university of Delhi, payable at state bank of India service branch, New Delhi (code no 7687). A self addressed envelope of size (25 cms x 17 cms) with postage stamps worth Rs 30/- attached should also be enclosed with the required to be addressed as indicated above. Draft must be purchased only from the branches of the state bank of India
