Admission to Two Year Full Time MBA and Ph.D. Programmes 2012

University of Delhi- DU - FMS Eligibility Criteria

MBA : Candidates applying for admission to the 2-year Full-Time MBA must have pursued at least a 3-year Bachelors Degree programme after 12 years of formal schooling. The minimum requisite percentage of marks (in aggregate) in a bachelor degree in different disciplines

Arts, Commerce or Social Science - 50%; Sciences - 55%; Mathematics or Statistics • 60%: Medicine, Engineering or Technology - 60% / CGPA of at least 6.00 in a scale of 10.00. OR Post-Graduate Degree or 2nd Degree examination after 10+2+3 scheme, securing at least 60% marks. Candidates appearing for the final year examination of Bachelor’s / Post-Graduate Degree examination may also apply.

DOCTORAL PROGRAMME : Candidates seeking admission to FMS Doctoral Programme, are required to take the Common Admission Test CAT 2011 conducted by Indian Institutes of Management during October 22, 2011 to November 18. 2011. Work experience minimum of two years is mandatory for all candidates.

Candidates exempted from the admission test are required to apply to FMS on the prescribed form alongwith a demand draft of Rs.250/- drawn in favor of Registrar, University of Delhi, by 31st January, 2012.

Applicants can register themselves for admission to M.B.A. (Full-time) and Ph.D. Programmes through FMS website www.fms.edu by filling up online registration forms and by paying the requisite fee of Rs.750/- (Rs.200/- for SC / ST / Physically Challenged category) for each programme, during September 21 to November 30, 2011 .

Admission to M.B.A. (Full-Time) and Ph.D. Programmes will be based on personal interview, group discussion and CAT-2011 score Common Admission Test conducted by Indian Institutes of Management during October 22. 2011 to November 18. 2011).

A candidate may apply for one or more programmes of FMS.

Post Graduate Programme in Public Policy & Management (PGPPM) – 2012 - 2014

The Post Graduate programme in Public Policy and Management (PGPPM) aims at strengthening the public policy and managerial skills of future leaders and senior managers from the civil services; and professionals from social, infrastructure and private sectors.

This two year programme helps professionals engaged in public policy and management to tackle new challenges in the context of liberalization, globalization and rapid technology change; and continuing burden of poverty, social exclusion and crisis.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Open and Overseas Candidates

Candidates from other than government sectors should be graduates and ideal profile would be 5 to 7 years of work experience. He/ she should not be aged over 40 years as on June 01, 2012.

Open and Overseas candidates need to take CAT 2011 exam or should have secured GMAT/GRE scores between April 1, 2010 and January 1, 2012.

2. DoPT Sponsored Government Candidates

Group A Officers of All India Services and Central Services are eligible for the IIMB PGPPM subject to the following eligibility conditions.

• Length of Service: The officer should have put in at least 7 years of Group 'A' service.

• Age: The officer should not be more than 50 years on the date of commencement of the programme i.e. June 01, 2012 (53 years in case of officers belonging to Scheduled Caste Scheduled Tribe and OB Community).

• Earlier Training: The officer should not have under gone training programme of a duration of 12-weeks or more in India or a duration of 2-weeks or more abroad, in the preceding five years.

Ignou announces dates for online courses

NEW DELHI: Indira Gandhi National Open University ( Ignou) New Delhi has announced the admission dates for three of its online programmes on Friday.

These programs are offered under the chair for sustainable development are an appreciation programme on sustainable management of Ganga- a scientific approach (APSMG), a leadership programme on nutrition security and sustainable development (LPNSSD) and a leadership programme on Himalayan ecosystems ( LPHECO). The APSMG course is for a minimum duration of one and half months and can stretch upto eight months. The last date for submission of application forms is October 15, 2011.

TISS Entrance Exam 2011 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates can apply and appear for the TISS National Entrance Test for a maximum of three programmes.

(a) A Bachelor’s Degree of a minimum of 3 years duration or its equivalent (under the 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 or 10+2+2+1 year bridge course pattern of study or any other pattern fulfilling the mandatory requirements of 15 years formal education) from a recognised university, in any discipline. OR

(b) Candidates who will complete all the requirements of their final year Bachelor’s Degree examinations by Saturday, June 9, 2012, are also eligible to apply to all the programmes (except the four programmes offered by the School of Health Systems Studies) provided they have successfully completed their first and second years, if the degree course is of 3 years; and the first, second and third years, if the degree course is of 4 years. Candidates applying for the M.A. Education (Elementary) programme should complete all the requirements by May 11, 2012. In such cases, admission to any of the Master’s Degree Programmes of the Institute will be provisional. If a provisionally admitted student fails in the final year examination, the offer of provisional admission automatically stands cancelled.

(c) Candidates applying for the Master of Public Health Policy, Economics and Finance; and Master of Public Health in Social Epidemiology Programmes should have a (i) Master’s degree in any discipline, or (ii) Bachelor’s degree in medicine, paramedical and other four years programme like pharmacy, veterinary sciences, engineering and others.

(d) Candidates applying for the Master of Health Administration and
Hospital Administration should have (i) successfully completed their graduate degree in any discipline, or (ii) Bachelor’s degree in medicine, paramedical and other four years programme like pharmacy, veterinary sciences, engineering and others.

(e) Candidates who are in their final year Bachelor’s degree programme are not eligible to apply for admission to any of the Master’s degree programmes conducted by School of Health Systems Studies, i.e., Health Administration, Hospital Administration; Public Health in Social Epidemiology; and Public Health in Health Policy,
Economics and Finance.

(f) Candidates applying for the Master in Habitat Policy and Practice
should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Management, Physical Sciences, Geography, Planning, Law, or Social Sciences, with some inclination towards habitat related issues/sectors.

(g) Medical graduates should complete their internship on or before Saturday, June 9, 2012. Otherwise, their candidature/admission stands cancelled.

Notes: (i) In case of payment by cash deposit in SBI branch, please note that the SBI will charge Rs. 50/- as their processing fee for each deposit, which cannot be adjusted against the application fee.

(ii) If payment is made via demand draft, pay order or any other mode, the application will be rejected and no communication to this effect will be sent to such candidates.

Candidates from remote places where no Internet and telecommunication facilities are available can get a printed copy of the application form from the Institute.

Unemployed Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates, whose parent’s/guardian’s income is less than Rs. 2 Lakhs and Rs. 1.45 Lakhs, respectively, are exempt from paying the Application Fee. They should apply through the E-application, and if they are from remote places, they can send a request letter without the payment challan and stamped envelope, but with a request letter, a plain self-addressed envelope and copies of Caste and Income Certificates attested by any School headmaster or a Principal of College or a gazetted officer. Requests received without the above Certificates will be rejected and no communication will be sent in this regard.
