IITs reveal JEE Cut-Off Marks

According to different sources as received news in my gmail email, the IITs reveal the cut-off marks

for admission on the basis of JEE – Joint Entrance Examination. This happens first time in the history of IIT JEE in near decades that student will know minimum cut-off marks in all three subjects, physics, chemistry and mathematics as well as aggregate marks in IIT JEE.

The minimum cut-off marks for IIT JEE 2012 in subjects are

IIT JEE 2012 General Category Candidates 10%
IIT JEE 2012 OBC Category Candidates 9%
IIT JEE 2012 SC, ST and PD Category Candidates 5%

The aggregate cut-off for General Category is 35%, OBC 31.5%, SC, ST & PD 17.5%

Admission to MBA (SEM)

Admission to the MBA (Software Enterprise Management) Programme will be made on the basis of the Common Entrance Test (CET) 2012. Students meeting the following criteria will be eligible to appear in the CET 2012:

Eligibility Criteria 1) B.E./ B.Tech with minimum of 60% marks or, 2) M.Sc(CS), M.Sc(IT), M.Sc(Electronics) with minimum of 60% marks or, 3) MCA with minimum of 60% marks.

Note : The Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply provided they are able to produce the proof of having acquired minimum prescribed qualifications at the time of counseling/admission or latest by 31st October 2012 (Wednesday) to their Concerned Dean/Principal/Director of their respective School/College/Institute where the admission has been granted*.

The final Merit List for admission will be prepared on the basis of candidate's performance in the Common Entrance Test (CET) 2012

SYLLABUS FOR CET-2012
Subjects of Common Entrance Test:-
(i) English Language & Comprehension
(ii) Numerical Ability & Mathematics
(iii) Logical Reasoning & Data Interpretation
(iv) Computer Science

Instructions for CET-2012:-
(i) The test paper will contain 150 objective-type questions in all. Each question will be provided with four alternative answers marked as (1), (2), (3) and (4). Out of these, only one correct or most appropriate answer should be selected and marked on the OMR answer sheet;
(ii) Each question shall carry four marks;
(iii) There will be negative marking for incorrect answers. One mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer;
(iv) The Test will be of two and a half hours duration and will carry 600 marks;
(v) The medium of the tests will be English only;
(vi) Candidates should bring a black ball point pen to the Examination Hall for writing/marking responses (darkening the ovals) on OMR answer sheet. Use of pencil is not allowed;
(vii) No requests for re-checking, re-evaluation, reassessment or scrutiny of OMR answer sheet will be entertained;
(viii) For those who are unable to appear in the test on the scheduled date for any reason, retest will not be held by the University under any circumstances. No refund of fee is permissible;

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
1. Application Forms: Examination Application Forms for any Level (O, A, B & C) can be obtained on written request by candidates from NIELIT, New Delhi, by sending Rs. 25/- per Examination Application Form through a Demand Draft drawn on any Nationalised Bank in favour of "NIELIT" payable at New Delhi. The request should be addressed to NIELIT and should clearly specify the level for which the Examination Form is required and complete address of the candidate. The envelope be super scribed as "Request for Examination Forms". Examination Application Forms can be collected in person against DD drawn on any Nationalized Bank for the appropriate amount in favour of NIELIT payable at NEW DELHI (Repeat payable at NEW DELHI only) from NIELIT’s own Centres/ Branches / Counseling Centres / Sale Counters outside Delhi the addresses of which are given in NIELIT website: www.nielit.in. The forms can also be collected personally against cash payment at NIELIT's counter at Head Quarters.

2. Filled-in Examination Application Forms are received by hand or through Registered/Speed Post only at the Office of the NIELIT at
Electronics Niketan, 6, CGO Complex, New Delhi – 110003.
NIELIT will not be responsible for any postal delay/loss in transit. The candidates should ensure that filled-in Examination Application Forms along with requisite fee and all other necessary documents reach the office of the NIELIT at Electronics Niketan, New Delhi before the closing date as specified above. Examination Forms received after cut-off date shall be summarily rejected and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained.
Taking into account the postal transit time, including any postal delays, Accredited Institutes, in their own interest, may decide suitable cut-off dates for submission of filled-in forms at their end by their students so as to ensure that the examination forms of their students are collected and forwarded to NIELIT, Delhi well within the prescribed cut-off date. Similarly, students submitting their Examination

Application Form through Accredited Institutes should ensure that their Examination Forms are posted in time, by the concerned Accredited Institute, so that the same reach NIELIT at New Delhi within the stipulated cut-off date, notwithstanding any postal delays that may occur in the process.

3. Accredited Institutes submitting Examination Forms in Bulk in the form of a parcel must superscribe the parcel with the Words"Examination Forms for July 2012 Examinations". They should also notify the date of dispatch of the filled-in Examination
Forms on their respective Notice Boards for information of their students. A copy of such a Notice should also be sent to NIELIT along with the bunch of Forms.

4. The candidates should read instructions given in the Examination Application Form for payment of the examination fee.

INCOMPLETE APPLICATION FORM WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES AND NO CORRESPONDENCE WHATSOEVER SHALL BE ENTERTAINED IN THIS REGARD.

5. Registration is pre-requisite for appearing in Examinations under DOEACC Scheme. Candidates should keep this in mind while requesting for Examination Application Forms.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR PRACTICAL EXAMINATION
The Examination Form is applicable for both, theory as well as Practical Examination. Practical Examination Fee is Rs. 300/- for each Practical.
For 'O' Level - Practical Examination (PR) is applicable for those candidates who have applied or passed in all modules i.e. M1-R3 to M4-R3 or M1- R4 to M4-R4. In some cases, however, candidates who have cleared some of the modules as per 3rd revised
Syllabus and would now opt for 4th revised syllabus, would also be eligible to undertake the Practical examination in case they have appeared/ cleared four modules, taking into account the subjects of both the 3rd revised syllabus and the 4th revised syllabus. However the Practical examination based on the 4th revised syllabus would be applicable for all such cases.

For 'A' Level - Practical Examination-I (PR-I) is applicable for those candidates who have applied or passed Al-R3 to A4-R3 / Al-R4 to A4-R4. Practical Examination-II (PR-II) is applicable for those candidates who have applied or passed A5-R3 to A10-R3/
A5-R4 to A10-R4.

For 'B' Level - There are 4 Practicals in the 'B' Level Examination. Practical Examination -I (PR-I) is applicable for those candidates who have applied or passed B1.1-R3 to B1.4-R3 / B1.1-R4 to B1.4-R4. Practical Examination-II (PR-II) is applicable for those candidateswho have applied or passed B1.5-R3 to B2.5-R3 / B1.5-R4 to B2.5-R4. Practical Examination-III (PR-III) is applicable for those candidates who have applied or passed B3.3-R3 to B3.5-R3/ B3.3-R4 to B3.5 –R4. Practical Examination-IV (PR-IV) is applicable for those candidates who have applied or passed B4.3-R3 to B4.5-R3/ B4.3 –R4 to B4.5-R4.

For 'C' Level - Four (4) Practical Examinations have been introduced in the 4th revised syllabus of the ‘C’ Level Course. Practical Examination-1 (C-PR I) is based on C1-R4 & C3-R4. Practical Examinations – 2 (C-PR II) is based on C2-R4 & C5-R4. Practical Examination–3 (C-PR III) is based on C6-R4 & C7-R4 and Practical Examination -4 (C-PR IV) is based on C8-R4 & C9-R4.

*The filled in Exam Application Forms will also be accepted upto 10th May 2012 with a late fee of Rs. 100/- per form.

Entrance Examinations 2012 University of Hyderabad

1. The Entrance Examinations for various P.G. Degree Courses (other than those offered by the Sarojini Naidu School and M.Sc Mathematics, Statistics-OR, Physics, Health Psychology), M.Sc. (5-year Integrated ) courses in Sciences and M.A. (5-year Integrated) courses in Humanities and Social Scienes will consist of only a written test of 100 marks.

2. The entrance examinations in the case of MPA, MFA, and M.A. in Communication in the Sarojini Naidu School will consist of a written test and a practical test/interview.

3. The entrance examination for the M.Sc. Mathematics, Statistics-OR, Physics, and Health Psychology, M.Phil, Integrated M.Sc./Ph.D. Biotechnoogy; M.Tech. / Ph.D.
Materials Engineering, Nano Science and Technology and Ph.D. in different subjects will consist of a written test and an interview (after qualifying in the former). The written test will carry 75 marks and the interview 25 marks.

Admissions in M.Tech Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Information Technology, will be granted only on the basis of GATE scores in Computer
Science and Information Technology.

Admission in M.Tech IC Technology is based on the GATE scores in the order of merit in one of the following:

1) Electronics and Communication Engineering, 2) Instrumentation Engineering and 3) Physics followed by an interview for the short listed candidates. There is no written test for admission to this course.

Admission in M.Tech. Computational Techniques is based on the GATE scores in the order of merit in Physics or being qualified in UGC-CSIR NET for JRF followed by
an interview for the shortlisted candidates. There is no written test for admission to this course.

Admission in M.Tech. Bioinformatics is based on the percentile score obtained in GATE examination and followed by an interview. GATE in the following subjects will be considered:
Biotechnology – BT; Chemistry – CY; Mathematics - MA; Physics – PH; Agricultural Engineering – AG; Electronics & Communication Engg. – EC; Computer Science and Information Technology – CS; Chemical Engineering – CH.

The duration of the written test for all courses will be two hours.

Question Paper Structure

The question paper for the entrance test for all courses (except for Ph.D. in some subjects - please see the Chapter on ‘Schools of Study’ for further details) shall consist of two parts - Part-’A’ and Part- ‘B’. Part-‘A’ of the question paper shall necessarily consist of objective type questions preferably of one mark each for a total of 25 marks. The marks obtained by the candidates in Part ‘A’ will be used for resolving tie cases.
All the Schools/Departments/Centres will follow negative marking for Part- ‘A’ of the question paper. There will be negative marking of 0.33 mark for every wrong answer.
Those Schools/Departments/Centres, which may set the entire paper as “objective type”, may follow negative marking for Part- ‘B’ of the question paper as well.

Interviews for candidates short-listed for admission to M.Phil., M.Tech., and Ph.D. on the basis of written test and those exempted from written test (on the basis of UGC/CSIR JRF, RGNF/MANF, (NBHM, in the case of Ph.D. for Maths, ICMR/ ICAR/DBT Fellowship for Ph.D. in the School of Life Sciences), and ICMR Fellowship for Ph.D. in the School of Social Sciences, Integrated M.Tech./Ph.D. Materials Engineering, Nano Sceince and Technology, Integrated M.Sc./Ph.D. Biotechnology, M.Sc Mathematics, Statistics-OR, Physics, Health Psycology and the courses offered by the S.N. School are tentatively scheduled to be held between 5th July to 11th July
2012, in the respective Schools/ Departments/ Centres.

However, exact dates of the interview/practical test will be notified and made available on the University website for the information of the short listed candidates.
