DU Admission Timeline 2012

The University of Delhi (DU) has announced admission timeline for Under Graduate College Admission 2012. On the basis of merit in qualifying examination the university will admit candidates in different colleges for study of pass and honors courses leading to award of bachelor degree. Following given DU Admission Timeline 2012.


Important Dates for General candidates


  • Notification of First Admission List by the Colleges June 26 (Tuesday), 2012
  • Admission and Payment of Fees (For First Cut off Admissions) June 26 (Tuesday) - June 28 (Thursday)
  • Notification of Second Admission List by the Colleges June 29(Friday)
  • Admission and Payment of Fees (For Second Cut off Admissions) June 29 (Friday) - July 2 (Monday)
  • Notification of Third Admission List by the Colleges July 3 (Tuesday)
  • Admission and Payment of Fees (For Third Cut off Admissions) July 3 (Tuesday) - July 5 (Thursday)
  • Notification of Fourth Admission List by the Colleges (if any) July 06 (Friday)
  • Admission and Payment of Fees (For Fourth Cut off Admissions) July 06 (Friday) - July 9 (Monday)

Important Tips

  • If you need hostel accommodation contact to concerned
  • For Sports and ECA quota contact individual colleges.
  • For admission in courses entrance test you would require applying in separate application form
  • University of Delhi offers non-formal stream of education through School of Open Learning. The Courses Offered are B.A(Prog.), B.Com, B.Com(Hons.),
  • B.A(Hons.) English and B.A(Hons.) Political Science


List of documents required at the time of Admission

  • Class X Board exam certificate
  • Class X Mark sheet
  • Class XII Mark sheet
  • Class XII provisional certificate/original certificate
  • Character certificate (Recent)
  • OBC (non creamy Layer) Certificate in the name of the candidate
  • Transfer Certificate from School/College as well as Migration certificate from Board/University are required from those students who have passed senior secondary exam from outside Delhi
  • At least Two passport size self attested photographs



School of Open Learning

  • Starting of Sale and Receipt of Applications 1 June ( Friday), 2012
  • Last date of Receipt of Applications without late fine 31 July (Tuesday), 2012
  • Receipt of Applications with late fine of Rs. 200 14 September (Friday), 2012


Non-Collegiate Women Education Board

  • Sale of hand Book of Information and receipt of 4 June (Monday) - 19(Tuesday) June , 2012 (10 AM to 3 PM)
  • Application at Board's office (on all working Days except Saturday and Sundays)
  • Sale of handbook of information at Teaching Centres For Sunday Centres: 3,10 and 17 June, 2012
  • For Saturday Centres: 2, 9 and 16 June, 2012

DU Colleges' Admission 2012

Finally it's admission time in Delhi University Colleges for study of under graduate courses leading to award bachelor degrees both general and Hons. DU is one of the top national university of India where students from different Indian states prefer to study. Here given admission schedule for DU Colleges' Admission 2012


  • Common Pre-Admission forms (OMR) will be available online and offline from 4th June 2012 till 18th June 2012 for General and OBC candidates.
  • OMR forms will be available at 12 Post office (Head Office) and 10 Colleges. The Post offices will sell and receive forms from 10.00am- 4.00 pm while colleges from 10.00 am – 1.00 pm.
  • The Cost of OMR form including Information Bulletin is Rs.100.
  • No college will sell their individual forms except for Sports and ECA admission category.
  • Online Registration will be for General and OBC Candidates only.
  • SC/ST candidates will have to register between June 4, 2012 and June 18, 2012 from 9.30 am to 2.00 pm at four Centre’s (Arts Faculty (North Campus), South Campus, Rajdhani College and Shyam Lal College.
  • PH candidates will be registered at office of Dean, Students Welfare from June 4, 2012 to June 18, 2012.

    In view of (i) the recent Judgment by the honorable Andhra Pradesh High Court, setting aside the Government resolution No. F1-1/2005-U-1 A/846 dated 22nd December 2011, providing reservation of 4.5% of seats to the candidates belonging to OBC(NCL)-Minority community and (ii) recent guidelines received from MHRD, all candidates are hereby advised to take note of the following while finalizing choice of courses in the on-going “IIT JEE Counselling”:

    “In the absence of any further legal development/information from MHRD before 13th June 2012, the judgment of the Andhra Pradesh High Court will be implemented by ignoring the provision for reservation of 4.5% seats and by converting seats meant for OBC(NCL)-Minority community to OBC(NCL) category. Therefore, all the shortlisted candidates are advised to note that availability of 4.5% reservation for OBC(NCL)-Minority shall depend on the legal developments till 13th June and hence they may register the choice of courses accordingly."
