Delhi University Admission Criteria 2014-15


  • Uniform additional criteria across colleges
  • Qualifying marks in mathematics in class 12 must for admission to honours courses in economics, statistics and mathematics.
  • A candidate who has not studied the subject at class 12 is which he / she is seeking honours will have disadvantage of 2% in best of four aggregrate.
  • Those seeking language honours will get 2% advantage in best of four aggregrate if studied elective language in class 12; 2% disadvantage in best of four aggregate if studied functional language.

Issue & Receipt of forms at DU Registration centres: 2 June 2014 to 16 June 2014 from 9 am to 1pm (excluding Sundays)

1st Cutoff list: 24 June 2014
Admission and Fees Payment: 24 June 2014-26June2014

2nd Cutoff List: 27 June 2014
Admission: June 27, 28 and 30, 2014

3rd Cutoff list: 1 July 2014
Admission: 1 July 2014 to 3 July 2014

4th Cutoff List: 4 July 2014
Admission: 4, 5 and 7 July, 2014

5th Cutoff list: 8 July 2014
Admission: 8-10 July 2014

Elective and Vocational Subjects

  • All elective subjects offered by CBSE and as Honours Courses by DU will be accepted in best of four as academic subjects without any disadvantages.
  • But Physical Education, home science and music in Class XII will be considered in best of four as academic / elective subject for only those seeking admission in these three honours.
  • All candidates pursuing even there or four vocational courses are now eligible for admission but with a deduction of 10% of maximum marks in each subject.

Admission Notice 2014-15

The Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW) is the first technical university for women established by Government of Delhi by upgrading the erstwhile Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology vide Delhi Act 9 of 2003. The University has more than 1500 students on its Kahemere Gate Campus situated in the heart of Delhi. The University offers B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA and PhD Programmes in different branches of Engineering and Technology to the women of the country leading towards their enlightenment and empowerment. The University has excellent placement record due to growing demand of women engineers in our country. Applications (Online and Offline) are invited for admission to the various academic programmes of the university for the session 2014-15


B.Tech. Programmes Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW)


This academic year 2014-15, the B.Tech admission in DTU, IIIT Delhi and IGDTUW would be conducted through common counseling. The joint counseling portal shall be activated in Mid June 2014. The candidates would be required to register Online and fill single online application form for Admission to DTU, IIIT Delhi and IGDTUW. The candidates who have been declared eligible for General Counseling by the CBSE and placed in the merit / rank list prepared by the CBSE based on the JEE Main 2014 Score (with 60% weightage) and normalized score in Class 12 or other qualifying examination (with 40% weightage) would be eligible for admission to B.Tech Programmes of IGDTUW.

85% of the Total Seats are reserved for candidates belonging to Delhi Region (Students passing the qualifying examination from recognized Board / College / Institution located within the NCT of Delhi) and 15% of the total seats for candidates belonging to outside Delhi Region.

M.Tech Programmes Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW)


Application forms for admission to 5 M.Tech programs in the departments of IGDTUW can be filled or submitted offline using OMR Form
For M.Tech Regular Program admission shall be based on merit cum GATE Score.
For M.Tech Part-Time Program applications are invited from working professionals.
The candidates having NIELIT ‘C’ level qualification may apply for lateral entry to M.Tech ECE Part Time Programe.

Ph.D Programme Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW)

Ph.D programs Full time and Part Time are offered in the Departments of Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology, Mechanical & Automation Engineering and Applied Sciences.

The Admission shall be on the basis of Research Aptitude Test (RAT) in Interview or Both. The RAT shall be conducted on 15 June 2014 at IGDTUW, Kashmere Gate Campus. (Both male and female candidates are eligible for Ph.D programme)

Fellowship: A limited number of Teaching-Cum-Research Fellowships (TRF) are available for GATE / NET qualified PG Degree holders in relevant discipline. For more details visit website.

MCA Program Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW)

The admission to MCA Program of IGDTUW shall be done by GGS IP University through common counseling. Candidates are advised to visit www.ipu.ac.in for updates on MCA admissions.
