Admission to Post Graduate Degree / Diploma / 5 Year M.Ch. (Neuro Surgery) And MDS Courses For The Year 2008-09 in Tamil Nadu Government / Self-Financing Medical and Dental Colleges


1.Application forms for the above courses will be available from 27-1-2008 to 6-2-2008 (upto 3.00 P.M.) from the Deans of the following Government Medical / Dental Colleges on a written request in person or by post with a crossed Demand Draft for Rs. 1,250/- (Rupees One thousand and two hundred and fifty only) drawn in favour of The Secretary, Selection Committee, Chennai-600 010 and DATED NOT EARLIER THAN 20-1-2008 from any Branch of a NATIONALISED BANK, payable at CHENNAl. SC/ST Candidates are exempted from payment of fees for the application form and they should produce attested xerox copy of the community certificate while collecting the application form.

2. Requisition by Post should be addressed to the Deans / Principal of the Government Medical / Dental Colleges only, duly enclosing Postal Stamps to the value of Rs.60/- (Rupees Sixty Only) SEPARATELY FOR POSTAL CHARGES, besides a crossed Demand Draft for Rs.1,250/- (Rupees One thousand two hundred and fifty only) towards Application Form Fee drawn in favour of The Secretary, Selection Committee, Kilpauk, Chennai-600 010 payable at Chennai by Demand Draft dated not earlier than 20-1-2008. SC / ST candidates should enclose the attested xerox copy of the community certificate and Postal Stamps to the value of Rs.60/- (Rupees Sixty only) towards the cost of postages along with their request for free application. No application will be available for sale at Selection Committee.


3. a) The candidate should be a citizen of India and should have undergone MBBS / BDS courses in the State of Tamil Nadu.
b) Candidates of Tamil Nadu Nativity who have completed MBBS/BDS in other States should furnish a Certificate of Nativity in Tamil Nadu issued by a Competent authority in the Format annexed to the Application Form.


4. Service candidates who have not completed three years of continuous service as on 31-03-2008 are not eligible to apply.


5. Candidates who had joined Post Graduate Degree / Diploma / 5 Years M.Ch. (Neuro Surgery) / MDS Courses in any discipline and discontinued the courses on any grounds after the cut off date fixed by the Medical Council of India are eligible to apply only after a period of 2 years from the date of discontinuance of the course.


6. a) Candidates above 50 years as on 31 -03-2008 are not eligible to apply.
b) Candidates (Private/Service) who have completed / possess a Postgraduate Degree are not eligible to apply for admission to any other Post Graduate Degree or Diploma Courses.
c) Candidates (Private/Service) who are a Diploma holder are not eligible to apply for another Diploma course but can apply for any Post Graduate Degree course.


7. BDS GRADUATES SHOULD APPLY ONLY IN THE SPECIFIED APPLICATION FORM FOR MDS COURSES.

9. Candidates who have graduated from other Universities have to produce the Eligibility Certificate from the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai at the time of Counselling, failing which they will not be considered for selection.


10. The completed application form along with enclosures should reach the Secretary, Selection Committee, No.162, Periyar E.V.R. High Road, Kilpauk, Chennai- 600010 on or before 06-02-2008 by 5.00 P.M.


11. Application form can also be downloaded from the website http//:www.tnhealth.org. Such candidates have to enclose a Demand Draft dated not earlier than 20-1-2008 for Rs. 1,250/- (Rupees One thousand two hundred and fifty only) drawn in favour of

“The Secretary Selection Committee, Chennai- 10” while submitting the application.

SC / ST candidates are exempted from the payment of the cost of application fee,

Admission to MDS Courses - 2008

Eligibility: 1. A candidate will be eligible for appearing in the Entrance Examination for MDS Course if he/she:
i) is a citizen of India. ii) has passed BDS examination from any Dental College/Institution recognized by the Dental Council of India.
iii) has completed satisfactorily one year compulsory rotating internship by 15.5.2008 from colleges recognized by the Dental Council of India.
iv) Registered with the State Dental Council/DCI at the time of admission.
v) Possesses a certificate of good conduct from the Head of the Institution last attended.
2. The candidate will have to submit the above-mentioned certificates in original at the time of counseling without which the admission shall not be granted except for certificate of completion of internship and registration at Sr. No. iii and iv above which will have to be submitted by 20.5.2008 positively. Admission will stand cancelled without any further notice.
3. A candidate who is already admitted to a course in any institution can be eligible to apply for another course only after passing the first course. An undertaking to this effect will be obtained from the candidate. Concealment of facts would invite disqualification.
4. After commencement of the MDS Course if a candidate having joined the course leaves it before completion of full period:
i) he/she will be debarred for next three years from applying for admission to any P.G. Course (Degree/Diploma) in the participating College.
ii) he/she will have to execute the Bond for One Year's basic fee of MDS degree Course, at the time of admission.




5. Candidates already in service must submit their application form through their employer or produce 'No Objection Certificate', from their employer on or before the last date or receipt of application form.

Application procedure: Prospectus cum application form is available at the admission office on all working days from 9 am to 4 pm on payment of Rs. 1000/- by post by sending a Demand Draft for Rs.1050/- in favour of the Registrar, MM University, Mullana payable at Ambala. The Application form can also be downloaded from the university website. The downloaded fom should be accompanied by a DD of Rs.1000/- to avoid rejection.

Three Year (Evening) Post -Graduate Programme in Business Management for Working Managers - 2008

Eligibility: 1) Applicants must have pursued 10+2 years of formal schooling.

2) Completed at least a 3-year bachelor degree programme or equivalent in any discipline recognized by a) All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), b) UGC or Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

Eligibility: 1. For M.Sc. (Economics)

Minimum qualification for admission to M.Sc. programme include one of the following degrees or their equivalents:

B.A./B.Sc. in Economics/B.Com./B.Stat./B.Sc. (Physics or Mathematics)/ B.Tech./B.E. with at least a Second Division for Economics Discipline and First Division for other disciplines. The applicant must have studied mathematics at the higher secondary level.

2. For M.Phil. / Ph.D.

Minimum qualification for admission to M.Phil. and Ph.D. programme include one of the following degrees or their equivalents:

M.A./M.Sc. in Economics/M.Stat./M.Sc.(Physics or Mathematics or Environmental Science or Operations Research) M.B.A./ M.Tech./ M.E./ B.Tech./ B.E. with at least 55% aggregate marks for Economics discipline and 60% aggregate marks for other disciplines. The applicant must have studied mathematics at the higher secondary level.

All candidates appearing for their final degree examinations on or before July 15, 2008 are eligible to appear for the IGIDR admission tests. However, their admission will be provisional and subject to their securing 55% or 60% aggregate marks, as the case may be, in their final degree examination. Also, the final official mark sheets of the same must be submitted to IGIDR by October 31, 2008.

Eligibility: For BAMS and B. Pharm (Ay) courses:

Age : For both the courses candidate should have completed 17 years but not crossed 25 years as on 31st December 2008 (Candidates born after 1st January, 1992 and on or before 31st December 1983 need not apply).

Qualification : Intermediate 10 + 2 (or equivalent examination from recognized board) with a minimum of 50% marks (40% in case of SC/ST candidates) in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Zoology + Botany) taken together, candidates appearing in qualifying examination may also apply.

For Ayurveda Vachaspati/ Dhanwantari [M.D. (Ay)/ M.S. (Ay)]:

The request for application form by post must reach on or before 01.03.2008. The application form can also be obtained on cash payment of Rs. 750/- (Rs. 500/- for SC/ST candidates) from the counter of the main Post Office on the BHU Campus between 20.01.2008 and 17.03.2008.

B) For Ayurveda Vachaspati/ Dhanwantari [M.D. (Ay)/ M.S. (Ay)] Courses:

Application form can either be downloaded from BHU website (www.bhu.ac.in) or can be obtained from the office of the Director, IMS, BHU, Varanasi by sending a written request through Registered Post along with a demand draft (MICR) of Rs. 100/- drawn in favour of the Director, IMS, BHU, payable at Varanasi along with two self addressed white paper slips of 6 cm x 10 cm in size. The envelop should be clearly superscribed "Application for MD (Ay)/MS (Ay) Entrance Test - 2008, BHU."

Application form can also be obtained on cash payment of Rs. 100/- from the counter of the main Post Office on the BHU Campus between 20.01.2008 & 31.03.2008.
