With the implementation of reservation in admission under the Central Educational Institutions (Reservation in Admissions) Act, 2006 (No. 5 of 2006) in respect of persons belonging to socially and educationally backward classes (OBCs), NIPER invites applications from the eligible OBC candidates who does not belong to the `creamy layer` as provided in OM No. 36012/22/93-(SCT), dated 8th September, 1993 [amended vide OM No. 36033/3/2004-Estt. (Res) dated 9th March, 2004 (copy of the order can be seen on our website www.niper.gov.in/niperjee2008.html)] of the department of Personnel and Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pension, and who have not applied earlier for admission to M.S. (Pharm.); M.Pharm, M.Tech.(Pharm.); M.B.A. (Pharm.) programme from the Academic Session 2008-09.



The OBC candidates applying under the category must produce a certificate issued by the appropriate authority to the effect at the time of counselling/GD and Interview. Interested OBCs candidates who have not applied earlier may submit duly filled in application form by 21st May 2008 to Chairperson National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Sector-67, S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali) -160 062 along with a demand draft for Rs. 1000/- drawn in favour of "NIPER-JEE 2008" payable at Mohali/ Chandigarh. Admission to integrated Phd Programme (IPhD) in Physics – 2008

Eligibility: Applications are invited from the motivated candidates with outstanding academic credentials, having (or completing by July 2008) M.Sc. degree in Physics / Applied Physics / Astronomy / Mathematics or B.E./ B.Tech./ M.E./M.Tech (Electronics, Computer Science, Instrumentation, Optics, Mechanical).

Date of Entrance Test : 6th June, 2008

Selection : For this year, 2008 the students will be called for interview in Bangalore through JEST examination as well as written test to be held at IIA campus on 6th June, 2008. The interviews will be held in IIA, Bangalore during June 6-7, 2008. Outstation candidates will be paid return train fare in II Sleeper Class or equivalent bus fare by the shortest route on production of original tickets. All the selected students will be fully supported with a fellowship of Rs. 10,000 per month for the first two years. All students will be provided hostel accommodation, medical facilities and a book grant. Upon successful completion of two years in the programme the candidates will be awarded a Masters' Degree in Physics.

Admission to Ph. D./Vidyâvâridhi Programmes - 2008 for July 2008 and January 2009 semesters in various disciplines in different Faculties except Faculty of Engineering & Technology where admissions will be done under CRET-exempted category.

Application procedure: INFORMATION BULLETIN PLUS APPLICATION FORM can be obtained only from the ENTRANCE TEST CELL, OFFICE OF THE CONTROLLER OF EXAMINATIONS, BHU, VARANASI - 221 005, either on cash payment of Rs.50/- (Fifty) only from 11 AM to 3 PM on working days OR by registered post by sending a written request mentioning: name, postal address & details of crossed MICR Demand Draft/Banker’s Cheque along with : (i) A crossed MICR Demand Draft/Banker’s Cheque issued by any Nationalized/Scheduled Bank for Rs.100/- (One Hundred) only in favour of the CONTROLLER OF EXAMINATIONS, BANARAS HINDU UNIVERSITY, payable at Varanasi, (ii) A self-addressed unstamped envelope of the size 32cm x 26cm.
