Examination name : Postgraduate Medical Entrance Examination for MD/MS/Diploma - PGM-CET 2009

Eligibility: Candidate must be an Indian National. Nationality Certificate issued by District Magistrate or Additional District Magistrate or Chief Metropolitan Magistrate or valid passport shall constitute the proof of nationality.

A candidates, who have passed final M.B.B.S. examination and completed/ completing one year internship training by 31st March, 2009 from a recognized medical college (Annexure F) included in the Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and situated in Maharashtra, affiliated to Non-Agricultural Universities established under Maharashtra Universities Act, 1994 or the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences Act, 1998 and who have obtained registration either from the Medical Council of India or Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC) will be eligible to appear for PGM-CET 2009. .

Eligibility for In-service candidates will be as per criteria laid down by the Public Health Department for M.M.& H.S. Medical Officer candidates and E.S.I.S. candidates; and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation for BMC candidates. .

Application forms of the In-service candidates shall be received by the Deputy Director of Health Services of the respective circles. The applications will be scrutinized by them and shall be submitted with remarks to the office of Directorate of Health Services, Mumbai. The forms of eligible candidates should then be submitted to the Competent Authority. For BMC candidates, the forms of eligible candidates should be submitted to the Competent Authority by the concerned office of BMC; and for ESIS candidates by the office of the Commissioner, ESIS, Mumbai. .

The MCI / MMC registration is mandatory for appearing at PGM-CET. Registration Certificate should be produced at the time of Preference Form filling process. .

Candidates, who were admitted to the colleges / institutions which are now affiliated to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik (MUHS) will be eligible till such time as they are awarded the degree by the University established under Maharashtra Universities Act, 1994.

Those candidates who have passed the Final MBBS Examination from conventional non Agricultural Universities of Maharashtra /MUHS, Nashik will be eligible to appear for PGM-CET-2009..

The candidate who has obtained MBBS degree from Deemed University is not eligible to appear for PGM-CET-2009.

The candidates who are domiciled in Maharashtra and who have obtained admission under 15% quota for All India Entrance Examination (AIEE) for MBBS course in the medical college/institution situated outside Maharashtra State and who have obtained the degree from a University situated outside the State of Maharashtra will also be eligible for PGM-CET-2009. Such candidates should submit (i) certificate from the Dean of respective medical college stating that the candidate was admitted under 15% AIEE quota for MBBS course, and (ii) Candidate's Domicile certificate of Maharashtra State by virtue of residence. .

The candidate belonging to Backward Class must have claimed so in his original application form, failing which such a claim will not be entertained subsequently. The candidate belonging to Backward Class Category should produce the Caste Certificate, Caste Validity Certificate and Non-Creamy Layer Certificate (wherever applicable) at the time of preference form filling process.

A Candidate belonging to ‘Creamy Layer’ amongst the categories (VJ) DT -A, (NT-1) NTB,(NT-2) NT-C, (NT-3) NT-D, OBC and SBC must note that the provision of reservation is NOT applicable to him/her. A candidate claiming benefit of reservation under these categories will be required to produce Non-Creamy Layer Certificate as specified in the Govt. Resolution No.CBC-10/2006/CR-15MVK-5, dated 30th June, 2006. The certificate in prescribed Proforma stating that it is valid upto 31/3/2009, should be submitted at the time of preference form filling process.

The candidate admitted for MBBS course in reserve category on the basis of Court order for Caste claim is required to submit Caste Validity Certificate given by the Caste Scrutiny Committee. If the matter is still pending with Hon'ble Court, candidate should submit a fresh Court order for PGM-CET 2009, failing which the claim will not be granted and the candidate will be considered as Open category candidate.

Candidates who have completed terms for postgraduate diploma course or would be completing terms by 31/3/2009 will be eligible for PGM-CET for admission to postgraduate degree registration in the same subject only. Candidates completing term of PG Diploma course after 31/3/2009 will not be eligible for PGM-CET-2009.

Application procedure:
The Competent Authority shall issue prescribed application form along with information Brochure containing procedures for admission to postgraduate courses. An applicant seeking admission to the PGM-CET - 2009 will be required to submit single prescribed computerized scanable application form which is provided with this brochure. ;.

The information Brochure and Computerized Application Form will be available for sale at all Notified centres (Annexure E) from 10/12/2008 to 24/12/2008 and should be submitted in person at any notified center from 10/12/2008 to 24/12/2008, including Sundays and State Government Holidays. .

The cost of the Information Brochure along with Computerized Application Form of PGM-CET 2009 and the examination fee is Rs.1800/- to be paid by a Demand Draft /Pay Order drawn on any nationalized / scheduled commercial bank in favour of the “Director, Medical Education & Research, Mumbai” payable at Mumbai. This amount is not refundable..

Candidates should submit Computerized Application form in person. Form send/submitted by courier/ post will be rejected.

In-service candidates should submit Computerized Scanable Application form to the concerned Authorities (DHS, ESIS & BMC).
Question Paper
PGM-CET paper will be of 3 1/2 hours duration containing 300 multiple choice questions (MCQs). Questions will be of single best response objective type with four answer options. Each correct response shall be awarded one mark. There shall be NO NEGATIVE MARKING for wrong answers.

Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) - COMEDK PGET-2009

Karnataka Private Medical and Dental Colleges Association and Karnataka Unaided Private Engineering Colleges Association have set up `COMEDK to organize a `Common Entrance Test and Centralized Counseling`, that would facilitate selection of candidates on merit for admissions to Post Graduate courses offered by member institutions (Medical and Dental).

COMEDK Entrance Test & publication of test score and rank fist will be followed by centralized counseling (Single window system )

Eligibility

Applicants should have successfully passed all years of their M,B,B.S / B.D.S. from an institution recognized by MCI/ DCI and must have completed / completing their internship by 30th April, 2009.

Applications are to be filled online on the association’s website after obtaining a DD for Rs. 1500/- (One Thousand Five Hundred Only) in favour of COMEDK-2009, payable at Bangalore (Non refundable fee) & posted to the below given COMEDK address along with the DD and the documents asked for so as to reach on or before 05.01.2009

Application Procedure

Note: Send the Application in A4 size envelope only. Do not fold the application form.

Applicants are requested to send the filled-in application form at the earliest to avoid any delay. Please do not wait until the last date to send in your forms.

Ensure that the Demand Draft for Rs.1500/- (Rupees One Thousand Five Hundred Only), along with all the prescribed documents are kept ready before filling up the Online Application form.

The Online application form has to be filled up properly and completely.

Take a print of the filled in Application form and Date of Birth Certificate / Identity Proof. (Two copies: Candidate copy and COMEDK Copy)

The Application form is said to be complete only if it is enclosed with all the documents and posted to COMEDK office.

Multiple application form filled and received from the same candidate will result in confusion and may result in disqualification.

Multiple Demand Drafts in excess of the prescribed fee (Rs.1500/-) if sent by the candidate will not be refunded.

Non-refundable fee for taking COMEDK PGET-2009 and attending centralized counseling, if eligible, is Rs.1500/- (Rupees One Thousand Five Hundred Only).

If Demand Draft is not enclosed the application will be rejected.

Note:
The recent passport size photographs to be provided have to be identical. It should not be more than 6 months old. Application with smudged/tampered or hazy photograph will not be accepted. Any application received not adhering to these specifications will be rejected without any clarifications and no refund will be made. The decision of the COMEDK Committee on this would be final and binding.

Brochure and application form can be downloaded only through COMEDK website.

Note: Applications will not be received in person either in the COMEDK office or by any member institutions.

All India Engineering / Architecture Entrance Examination (AIEEE) – 2009

In compliance of the directives of the Government of India, Department of Secondary and Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, the CBSE will be conducting the Eighth All India Engineering / Architecture Entrance Examination (AIEEE) on Sunday 26th April, 2009 for admission to degree level course in Engineering and Architecture in National Institute of Technologies (NITs), Indian Institute of information Technologies (IIITs), Centrally funded institutions, Deemed Universities and Institutions in States / UTs/other than those covered by Joint Entrance Examination / State Level Entrance Examination for paid or unpaid seats based on the score. Tentative list of participating Institutions will be contained in the information Bulletin AIEEE-2009.

Schedule of Examination

Course: B.E. / B.Tech.
Subject: Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics
Timing & Duration: 9.30 am to 12.30 pm (3 Hours)

Paper – II
Course: B.Arch. / B.Planning.
Subject: Mathematics – Part – I, Aptitude Test – Part -II, Drawing Test – Part - III
Timing & Duration: 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm (3 Hours)

Eligibility

The academic qualifications as prescribed in Information Bulletin and Application Form of AIEEE-2008 are applicable for this admission. These are reproduced below.

The minimum academic qualification for admission through AIEEE-2009 is a pass in the final examination of 10+2 (Class XII), or its equivalent, referred to as the qualifying examination. Those appearing in 10+2 (Class XII) final, or equivalent, examination in 2009 and whose results are not declared may also appear in examination. Such candidates will be admitted provisionally, subject to their fulfilling the specified eligibility criteria at the time of appearing for counseling.

Subject combinations required in the qualifying examination for admission to B.E. / B.Tech and B.Arch. / B. Planning Courses shall be as under:-

i) Course: B.E. / B.Tech.
Compulsory Subjects: Physics & Mathematics
Any one of the Optional Subjects: Chemistry, Bio-technology, Computer Science, Biology

ii) Course: B.Arch / B. Planning
Compulsory Subjects: Mathematics with 50% marks in aggregate at 10+2 level

Date of Birth:

Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1984 are eligible for admission. However, in the case of Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Physically Challenged (PH) candidates, upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years meaning thereby candidates born on or after October 01, 1979 are eligible.

List of Qualifying Examinations:

i. The 10+2 level examination of any recognized Central / State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi.

ii. Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board / University.

iii. Final Examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defense Academy.

iv. Any Public School / Board / University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system.

v. H.S.C. Vocational Examination.

vi. A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects. Proof of place of examination centre of the final examination from the National Open School will be required for determination of State of Eligibility.

vii. 3 or 4-year diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education.

Application From

Cost of Examination Bulletin inclusive of Examination fee for B.E./B.Tech only or for B.Arch. IB. Planning only ; Rs. 450/- for General & OBC Category and Rs. 225/- for SC/ST category for either B.E./B.Tech or B. Arch/B. Planning only that includes examination and counseling fees. Candidates opting for B.E./B. Tech. and B.Arch./ B.Planning (Both) will have to pay additional fee of Rs. 300/- for General/OBC Category and Rs 150/- for SC/ST category by means of Demand Draft. Candidates opting Examination Centre in Foreign Country will have to pay additional fee as mentioned in information Bulletin.

Reservation for OBC & SC/ST and Physically Handicapped candidates will be applicable as per the Government of India/States concerned existing rules or as amended from time to time.

Sale of information Bulletin/Application Form :

The information Bulletin containing the Application Form and other details will be available for sale from 05/12/2008 from designated branches of Syndicate Bank /Other Banks/ NITs/Deemed Universities/Institutions and the Regional Offices of CBSE. In addition to the cost of information Bulletin, the designated branches of Syndicate Bank or designated institutions would charge Rs. 5/- extra as service/Processing charges.

The information Bulletin containing Application Form can also be obtained by post by sending a MICR bank Draft of Rs. 500/- for General/OBC Category and Rs. 275/- for SC/ST Category (Which includes Rs. 50/- towards postal charges) along with a self-addressed envelope of the size of 12" x10" without postage stamps) from the Assistant Secretary (AIEEE), Central Board of Secondary Education, PS-1-2, Institutional Area, l.P. Extension, Patparganj, Delhi-110092. The payment is to be made through Demand Draft in favour of Secretary, CBSE, Payable at Delhi/New Delhi.

The candidate should write his/her Name and Address on the back of the Demand Draft/Pay Order. However, the Board will not be responsible if the forms are not available at any of the designated branches of Syndicate Bank/Other Banks/Institutions specified in the information Bulletin.

If a candidate fails to enclose a self-addressed envelop of the size of 12"x10’, the CBSE shall not be held responsible for non-dispatch of information Bulletin/ Application Form.

The applications would be received in the Boards office only by Registered/ Speed Post and not in person or through any private courier. Use of address of any coaching centre/coaching Institutions is strictly prohibited. lf anybody uses the address of any coaching institution his/her application form will be rejected.

On Line Submission of Application: Eligible candidates may also apply through` the application format available on the website of AIEEE, with photograph, signature and the requisite fee. If the candidate wants to appear only for one paper i.e. of B.E./B.Tech. or for B.Arch. Planning a payment of Rs.450/- for General/OBC Candidate and Rs. 225/- for SC/ST category need to be made. Candidate opting for B.E./B.Tech and B.Arch/B. Planning (Both the papers) will have to send payment of Rs.750/- for General/OBC Category and Rs.375/- for SC/ST Candidates. The forms need to be sent by Registered /Speed post only and not by Courier. Candidates should pay the fee as mentioned above. The fee could be submitted in the following ways.

a. By Credit Card – In addition to Exam Fee 2.5% will have to be paid by the candidates as Service / processing charges.

b. Through Demand Draft in favour of Secretary, CBSE, payable at Delhi / New Delhi.

c. Through Challan form generated at the time of submission of particulars and downloaded from website in any branch of Syndicate Bank across the country.

Candidates opting Examination Centre in foreign country has to pay additional fees as mentioned in information Bulletin.

Request for supply of Application Form by post, if required will not be entertained after 15/12/2008.
