IIT Bombay - Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management

Supply Chain Management Program for Graduates/Diploma holders

IIT Bombay - Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management, has announced Supply Chain Management across the country. The supply chain management field continues to evolve from basic contract management with suppliers and distributors to a more proactive, strategic process with business partners and suppliers to create shareholder value. With many the clerical tasks now automated, the purchasing professional is free to work strategically with management.

The competitiveness of companies is more and more dependent on the competitiveness of the whole supply chain. Managers of today must understand and lead their companies as a whole, and understand and affect the network they operate in. As company networks are becoming global, managers, too, have to operate internationally.

The program aims to provide you with foundational and advanced knowledge on how to tackle, resolve, and manage a myriad of complex problems and issues that confront supply chain managers. Indian Institute of Journalism & New Media - Admission Notice

Courses Offered

Postgraduate Diploma Program in Journalism

Diploma Program in Journalism

Application Deadline:

All application materials must reach IIJNM by May 30, 2009, for the July 2009 entry point. Download application form from www.iijnm.org

About IIJNM

The Indian Institute of Journalism & New Media (IIJNM) is one of South Asia`s leading post-graduate schools of journalism and media. Located in Bangalore in the heart of India`s high-tech industry, the institute offers an excellent curriculum that combines both theory and practice to prepare its graduates for positions in the media industry.

The main motivating factor behind the creation of this journalism college is the overwhelming need to improve the quality of journalism and elevate its stature in order to attract committed individuals to the profession in India.

Both the diploma programs consist of core courses including advanced seminars, electives, media workshops and a master`s thesis project. Depending on the type of diploma program, the requirements vary. These courses are offered in two semesters: July-December and January-June.

IIJNM offers concentrations in Television, Radio, Newspaper, Magazine and New Media (Web) journalism. Television and Radio students produce both television and radio programs as part of their Broadcast curriculum, with special focus on their area of interest – TV or radio. Print and New Media students are required to cover both areas, with special focus on newspaper, magazine or web journalism, respectively.

Students concentrating in newspaper journalism must take the workshop that requires producing an in-house newspaper. Magazine journalism students produce a monthly magazine. New Media students produce a weekly on-line publication. Broadcast students may produce both TV and radio news segments and documentaries, depending on their particular area(s) of interest.

Hostel Facility:

The IIJNM program requires intense study for one year, and all students must stay in dormitory next to the campus, unless an exemption is granted. A convenient and modern residential facility is provided separately for both male and female students. Some faculty members may also choose to stay in the apartments provided within walking distance of the Institute.

The convenience of living close to the campus gives students constant access to the services offered by the Institute. Often, students may want to work on their computers until late hours without worrying about a long commute. Also, when course assignments call for team effort, students are able to easily get together at short notice.

The cafeteria adjacent to the dormitory offers regular meals -- breakfast, lunch and dinner - at a nominal charge.
