The University will hold Common Entrance Test (CET) on 17.5.2009 (Sunday) at Chandigarh Centres only for admission to the following courses, session 2009-10.

1. M.B.B.S. at GOVT. MEDICAL COLLEGE, CHANDIGARH (Only for candidates studying / having studied 10 + 1 and 10 + 2 as regular students in the Schools situated in U.T. Chandigarh.)

2. B.D.S. at DR. HARVANSH SINGH JUDGE INSTITUTE OF DENTAL SCIENCES, P.U. CHANDIGARH (Subject to approval of the Govt.)

3. B.A.M.S. at SHRI DHANWANTRY AYURVEDIC COLLEGE, CHANDIGARH (Subject to continuation of affiliation)

4. B.H.M.S. at HOMEOPATHIC MEDICAL COLLEGE, CHANDIGARH

5. B.PHARM. at UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCES, P.U. CHANDIGARH.

6. B.A LL.B. (Hons.) Five Year Integrated course: at (1) UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF LEGAL STUDIES, P.U., CHANDIGARH (2) SWAMI SARVANAND GIRI, PANJAB UNIVERSITY REGIONAL CENTRE, BAJWARA, HOSHIARPUR and (3) PANJAB UNIVERSITY REGIONAL CENTRE, LUDHIANA And

7. B.Sc. (Hons. School) in Anthropology, Bio-Chemistry, Bio-Physics, Bio-technology, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Mathematics & Computing, Microbiology, Physics, and Zoology in the TEACHING DEPARTMENTS at the University Campus.
Eligibility: All those candidates who have passed/appeared (up to the Academic Session 2008-2009) in the 10+2 Examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi or its equivalent Examination Conducted by a recognized Board/ University/ Council shall be eligible to appear in the Common Entrance Test - 2009. The admission of candidates for the Common Entrance Test shall be provisional. It shall stand cancelled, if they fail to satisfy the requisite eligibility conditions as required by the concerned institution(s)/ University by the date fixed for the purpose.

SPECIAL NOTE:

The candidates who have passed/appeared in 10+2 Examinations of Mahila Gram Vidyapith, Allahabad are ineligible to appear in the Common Entrance Test, as this institution has been derecognized by Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Age: A candidate who has attained the age of 17 years on or before December 31, 2009
Application procedure: The Prospectus and Application Form for the Test is available for sale w.e.f. 13.3.2009 (Friday) by hand as well as by post.

A) BY HAND: On payment of Rs.1600/- (Rs. 800/- in case of SC/ST), in cash, from the following Post Offices: Chandigarh (Sector – 14, 17, 36 and 47), Amritsar (Court Road, Head Post Office), Abohar (Old Court Road), Delhi (Gole Post Office, Cannaught Place), Dharamshala (The Mall), Hoshiarpur (Near District Courts), Kurukshetra (Near Railway Station), Ludhiana (Bharat Nagar Chowk), Mohali (Phase-I), Muktsar (Head Post Office), Panchkula (Sector-8), Sangrur (Head Post Office, Near Ghantaghar), Shimla (The Mall).

B) BY REGISTERED POST: From the Manager, Publication Bureau, P.U., Sector-14, Chandigarh by sending a Bank Draft of Rs.1680/- (Rs.880/- for SC/ST) in favour of the REGISTRAR, PANJAB UNIVERSITY, CHANDIGARH Payable at Chandigarh. For this the request must reach the Manager, Publication Bureau, P.U., Chandigarh by 26.03.2009 (Thursday).

MCA Admissions: 2009-10
Application procedure: Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to the 3-year full time MCA program at NIT, Kurukshetra. Admissions to 3-year MCA programme will be made through NIT MCA Common Entrance Test (NIMCET-09) being conducted by MNNIT, Allahabad. Admission will be based on the Rank obtained in the NIMCET -09. The admission to MCA programme offered by the various NITs for the year 2009-10 will be basedon the Rank obtained in NIMCET-09. Eligibility: 1. Recognized Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years’ duration in any discipline.

2. Candidates appearing for a qualifying examination can also apply subject to submission of proof of requisite qualification by October 7, 2009.

3. No age limit

Application procedure: The prospectus containing the application form can be obtained from the institute on all working days between 10 am – 4.30 pm on payment of Rs.1200/- (Rs.600 for SC/ST/PH candidates) or by post enclosing a crossed demand draft of Rs.1200/- (Rs.600 for SC/ST/PH candidates) in favour of Indian Institute of Foreign Trade payable at New Delhi.
