Eligibility


MBA-Core:

Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3) in any discipline from a recognized University with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate. Two years post qualification work experience will be preferred.

MBA Actuarial Science:

Candidates should have attained any of the following Educational Standards with minimum 50% marks in aggregate at graduation/post graduation degree level examination.

a. Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3) in Statistics / Mathematics /
Engineering/ Economics/Computer Science/Allied Sciences with minimum 50% marks in Aggregate. Two years post qualification work experience will be preferred.

b. Graduate or Post Graduate with Mathematical subjects. For this purpose following subjects constitute mathematical subjects :

• Mathematics or any of its branches
• Statistics or any of its sub classification such as Mathematical
Statistics and Applied Statistics
• Economics
• Computer Science
• Any discipline of Engineering
• Subject in Science such as Physics or its allied branches

c. Candidate with graduation/ post graduation from other disciplines should have passed 10+2 (H.S.C.) or equivalent with at least 85% in Mathematics / Statistics.

d. Fully qualified members of following professional bodies are also eligible.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI)
The Institute of Cost and Works Accountant of India (ICWAI)

MBA Banking Management & MBA Capital Market:

Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3) in any discipline from a recognized University with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate. Two years postqualification work experience will be preferred.

MBA Phamraceutical Management:

Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3) in Life Sciences/ Pharmacy, Microbiology and bio-tech, bio-chemistry from a recognized University with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate. Also Post Graduates in Sociology / psychology / Economics / Anthropology are eligible. Two years postqualification work experience will be preferred.

Ph.D. Programme:

A. The students may be drawn from those with qualifications from any of the streams listed Below:

• Master’s degree or equivalent in relevant disciplines like humanities, social sciences, pure sciences and Commerce, from a recognized university/ deemed university/ institution recognized by Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

• Post-graduate Diploma in Business Administration, considered equivalent to MBA by AIU.

B. Minimum Marks required:

60% marks or equivalent CGPA at PG level.

C. Work Experience:

At least 5 years full time work experience in executive or supervisory capacity after obtaining Master’s Degree.

D. Engineering students with 65% marks or equivalent CGPA at degree level with 5 years work experience in Academic/Academic Institution/ Research/ Corporate.

Teaching Assistantship of Rs. 25000/- will be available to students for period of 4 years, in addition there would an academic fee waiver. Research grants of Rs. 10,000/- per annum for Ph.D. Research.

For Part Time MBA:

Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3) in any discipline from recognized University OR Equivalent pattern recognized by the UGC & AIU. Three Years Postqualification work experience in Supervisory / Executive Cadre as on 31st December 2009 is essential.

Eligibility Criteria for EPGDBM(Bangalore Campus):

Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3) in any discipline from recognized University OR Equivalent pattern recognized by the UGC & AIU with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate. Five Years Postqualification work experience in Supervisory / Executive Cadre as on 31st December 2009 is essential.

Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree/ equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirement and are awaiting results can also apply. But their admission will be subject to their fulfilling the eligibility norms as mentioned above.

Selection Process:

All those who registered successfully will be called for the NMAT, provided they satisfy condition of eligibility. It is the sole responsibility of the candidates to check that he/she is eligible as per the criteria. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of NMAT Score, Group Discussion, Personal Interview, Presentation (as applicable) andwork experience. The selection criteria will be based on merit. The cut-off for deciding the merit shall lie solely with NMIMS University.

In this regard, the decision of the NMIMS University will be final and undisputable and shall be binding on all concerned.

(Note : 15% seats are reserved for Management Quota in each course out of total intake).

University Grants Commission - UGC - NET - 2010





The University Grants Commission announces holding of the National Eligibility Test (NET) on 27th December, 2009 (Sunday) for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) and eligibility for Lectureship in Indian universities and colleges. UGC will conduct NET in 77 (seventy seven) subjects (listed under item no. 9) at 66 (sixty six) selected University Centres (listed under Item no. 10) spread across the country.

The candidates who qualify for the award of Junior Research Fellowship are eligible to pursue research in the subject of their post-graduation or in a related subject and are also eligible for Lectureship. The universities, institutions, IITs and other national organizations may select the JRF awardees for whole time research work in accordance with the procedure prescribed by them. The award of JRF will depend on the performance of the candidate in all three papers of NET.

However, the candidates qualifying exclusively for Lectureship will not be considered for award of JRF.

Candidates appearing in NET should clearly specify in the prescribed Application Form whether they are applying for both JRF & eligibility for Lectureship OR only for eligibility for Lectureship. Candidates who qualify the Test for eligibility for Lectureship will be governed by the rules and regulations for recruitment of Lecturers of the concerned universities/colleges/state governments, as the case may be.

Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Visually Handicapped (VH)/ Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates will be given such special concessions as may be decided by the Commission.

JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP :

Candidates qualifying for the award of Junior Research Fellowship will be eligible to receive fellowship of UGC under various schemes, subject to finding their placement in universities/IITs/institutions. The validity period of the offer is two years w.e.f. the date of issue of JRF Award Letter. However, in case the candidates have already joined M.Phil/ Ph.D., the date of commencement offellowship shall be from the date of declaration of NET result or date of their joining, whichever is later.

Eligibility

i) Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination from universities/ institutions recognised by UGC in Humanities (including languages) and Social Sciences, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science etc. are eligible for this Test. The Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Physically Handicapped (PH)/Visually Handicapped (VH) category candidates who have secured at least
50% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s degree or equivalent examination are eligible for this Test.

ii) Candidates who have appeared OR will be appearing at the qualifying Master’s degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited OR candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this Test.

However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and shall be considered eligible for award of JRF/Lectureship eligibility only after they have passed their Master’s degree examination or equivalent with at least 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/PH/VH category candidates). Such candidates must complete their P.G. degree examination within two years from the date of NET result with required percentage of marks, failing which they shall be treated as disqualified.

iii) The Ph.D. degree holders whose Master’s level examination had been completed by 19th September, 1991 (irrespective of date of declaration of result) shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e., from 55% to 50%) for appearing in NET.

iv) Candidates are advised to appear in the subject of their post-graduation only. The candidates whose post-graduation subject is not covered in the list of subjects, may appear in a related subject.

v) Candidates seeking concession in fee are required to submit attested copy of their OBC/SC/ST/PH/VH certificate along with their Application Forms.

Other candidates are not required to submit any certificates/ documents in support of their eligibility along with the Application Form. Therefore, the candidates, in their own interest, must satisfy themselves about their eligibility for the Test. In the event of any ineligibility being detected by the Commission at any stage, their
candidature will be cancelled and they shall be liable for legal action.

AGE LIMIT & RELAXATION :

i) Junior Research Fellowship : Not more than 28 years as on 01.12.2009. A relaxation upto 5 years is provided to the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PH/VH categories and to women applicants. Relaxation will also be provided to the candidates having research experience, limited to the period spent on research in the relevant/ related subject of post-graduation degree, subject to a maximum of 5 years, on production of a certificate from appropriate authority.
Three years’ relaxation in age will be permissible to the candidates possessing L.L.M. Degree. Total age relaxation on the above ground(s) shall not exceed five years under any circumstances.

ii) Lectureship : No upper age limit.

EXEMPTION (ELIGIBILITY FOR LECTURESHIP) :

i) NET/SET shall remain the minimum eligibility condition for recruitment and appointment of Lecturers in Universities/ Colleges/ Institutions. Provided, however, that candidates, who are or have been awarded Ph.D Degree in compliance of the “University Grants Commission (minimum standards and procedure for award of Ph.D. Degree), Regulation 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimumeligibility condition of NET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions.” The candidates who have passed the UGC/CSIR JRF examination prior to 1989 are also exempted from appearing in NET.

ii) For SET Candidates: The candidates who have cleared the State Eligibility Test (SET) accredited by UGC for eligibility for Lectureship held prior to 1st June 2002, are exempted from appearing in NET, being eligible to apply for Lectureship anywhere in India. For SET held from 1st June 2002 onwards, the qualified candidates are eligible to apply for the post of lecturer only in the universities/ colleges belonging to the state from where they have cleared their SET. All SET qualified candidates are also eligible to appear in NET, if they so desire.

SCHEME AND DATE OF TEST :

The Test will consist of three papers. All the three papers will be held on 27th December, 2009 in two separate sessions as under :

First- I Paper (100 Marks)- 1¼ Hours: (09.30 A.M. to 10.45 A.M.)
First - II Paper (100) - 1¼ Hours: (10.45 A.M. to 12.00 NOON)
Second – III Paper (200) - 2½ Hours: (01.30 P.M. to 04.00 P.M.)

How to apply

i) Candidate seeking admission to the Test must apply in the prescribed Application Form in DUPLICATE as given in the Notification. Application Form may be neatly typed or photocopied on white paper (A-4 size) on one side of the paper only. The application not in the prescribed format will be rejected. Request forApplication Form from UGC will not be entertained.

ii) The Candidate should fill the Application Form legibly and carefully in their own handwriting with ballpoint pen. Two Copies Of The
Application Form Along with Admission Card, Attendance Slip And Demand Draft Should Be Sent To The Registrar Of The University From Where The Candidate Has Opted To Appear For The Test. Applications Addressed To UGC Office Will Not Be Entertained.

The envelope containing the Application Form should be superscribed “UGC National Eligibility Test For Junior Research Fellowship and Eligibility For Lectureship, December, 2009”

The candidates must affix their recent passport size photographs from the same negative at the places indicated in the Application Form and must sign across the photograph after it is affixed so that a part of the signature spreads over the Application Form beyond the photograph. Besides, it should be duly attested by the Head of the University Department/Principal of the College/Class-I Gazetted Officer.

EXAMINATION FEE AND MODE OF PAYMENT :

For General candidates, the examination fee is Rs.450/-; for Other Backward Classes (OBC), the fee is Rs. 225/- and for SC/ST/PH/VH candidates, it is Rs.110/-. The fee should be paid in the form of a single crossed demand draft from any Government of India Bank/ Scheduled Government Bank payable at their Service Branch, New Delhi/Delhi only with six months’ validity drawn in favour of the Secretary, U.G.C., New Delhi. Fee once paid, will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Enclosures to be Sent With the Application

Candidates should send the following documents with their application:-

i) A crossed Bank Draft towards examination fee payable to Secretary, University Grants Commission, New Delhi. Candidates should mention their name, Subject Code and Centre Code on the reverse of the Demand Draft.

ii) SC/ST/Visually Handicapped/Physically Handicapped/ OBC certificates, in case applicable, duly attested by a Gazetted Officer.

iii) Two self addressed unstamped envelopes of 10” X 4” size.

CBSE Class 10th & 12th Exams from 1March, 2010





Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) New Delhi will hold Class 10th and Class 12 Board Examinations from March 1 onwards. The detailed date sheet will be announced later. First time in its academic history, CBSE will follow grading system, students will gate Grade Performance subject wise.
