Eligibility Criteria

For M.V.Sc. / M.F.Sc. degree courses: Candidates possessing a B.V.Sc. & A.H ./ B.F.Sc. degree of Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University or any other University recognized as equivalent thereof shall be eligible to apply. (a minimum of 55% marks in their Bachelor’s degree.)

For M.Tech.: Candidates possessing a B.Tech. (FPT) degree of Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University or candidates who have studied a four years degree programme in Food Processing Technology / Food Technology / Food Engineering / Dairy Technology or equivalent Engineering or Technology course from a recognised University or any other University recognised as equivalent thereof shall be eligible to apply.

For M.Phil. in Biotechnology: A candidate with Masters degree in the disciplines of Biological / Biomedical Sciences like Biotechnology, Animal Biotechnology, Medical Biotechnology, Environmental Biotechnology, Marine Biotechnology, Nanotechnology, Molecular Biology, Gene Technology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Zoology, Environmental Sciences, Genetics, Marine Biology, Fisheries Science etc. from a recognised university with 60% aggregate marks or equivalent OGPA in the respective PG degree.

For M.Phil. (Climate Change and Fisheries): Any Master degree with Science background with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate for general category and a minimum of pass for SC / ST candidates.

For M.Sc. IN Bioinformatics: Any graduate with a minimum qualification of B.V.Sc., B.V.Sc & A.H., M.B.B.S., B.D.S., B.F.Sc., or B.Sc. degree in any branch of Agriculture/ Life Sciences/ Genetics/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics/ Microbiology/ Pharmacology or equivalent of Indian or Foreign University with an OGPA of 3.0/4.0 in trimester system or 7.0/10.0 in semester system or 50% in conventional system. A minimum pass is sufficient for SC / ST candidates.

Registration fee should be sent only in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of “Finance Officer, TANUVAS, Chennai-51” payable at Chennai.

Filled in application should reach the Chairman, Admission Committee (PG), Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Madhavaram Milk Colony, Chennai- 600 051 on or before 08.08.2011, 5.45 P.M.

Applications on prescribed forms are invited from eligible candidates for Entrance test to the selection/admission in the following Ph.D courses for the session 2011 at SKIMS Soura with eligibility criteria as mentioned here in below against each course:

Duration:

Minimum period of training for Ph.D shall be :

a) 02 years for candidates who possess MD/ MS/ PG Diploma.
b) 03 year for candidates with M.S.c
c) 04 years for candidates with MBBS degree.
Maximum period to complete the Ph.D shall be 05 years. Registration of candidates not qualifying the Ph.D program within prescribed period shall be cancelled.

Eligibility Criteria

Biochemistry

• MBBS; Diplomat National Board of Examinations (Biochemistry) Or

Minimum of 55% of the aggregate marks in the professional
examinations. Or
• M.Sc Pharmacology/Medical Lab. Technology (Pharmacology) /Biotechnology.

Immunology & Molecular Medicine


• MBBS; MD (Medicine/ Pathology /Microbiology/ Pediatrics). Or
• MBBS; Diplomat of the National Board of Examinations. (DNB
Immunology) Or
• Degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) with a' minimum of 55% of the aggregate marks in the professional
examinations. Or
• M.Sc immunology/Medical lab. Technology (immunology)/ Molecular
Biology / Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Human Genetics.

The above qualifications must be from the recognized colleges / University approved by the MCI / UGC.

Application Form - How To Apply

The applications forms along with detailed Prospectus can be had from the Academic Section of the SKIMS Soura w.e.f. 15.07.2011 against payment of Rs. 1000/- (Rupees one thousand only) to be deposited in Account Head CD-183 at J&K Bank, SKIMS Soura Srinagar upto 23.07.2011 and shall be submitted in Academic Section with all requisite documents upto 26.07.2011.

Verification of original certificates of the candidates shall be made on 27th & 28th of July, 2011 and Entrance Test shall be conducted on 31st July, 2011 (Sunday) at 2 pm in SKIMS Auditorium Hall.

However, those candidates who have applied in pursuance to Notification No. SlMS/Acad/ 18 of 2010 dated 08.12.2010 need not apply fresh.

But, those candidates who belong to Health Services/Govt. run institutions are required to submit. No Objection Certificate from their parent department by or before 27tth July, 2011.
