PGD-CET-2012 - MDS Admissions

PGD-CET-2012 - MDS Admissions (In-Service Candidates)

There are 2 (Two) Post Graduate seats reserved for In-service candidate serving at Government
Dental/Medical Colleges as dental surgeon from the state of Maharashtra.

The eligibility criteria for in-service candidates are as follows.

1. Candidate must have passed BDS form a dental college recognized by Dental Council of India and
situated in the state of Maharashtra.
2. The maximum number of attempts for passing BDS should not be more than three.
3. He/She should have minimum 3 years of experience as a permanent Government Employee. Inservice
candidate with temporary status will not be considered for in-service Quota. The required
experience must be on the post of Dental Surgeon in Government Medical/Dental Colleges.

4. Age of the candidate should not be more than 45 years on the last day of submission of PGD-CET
2012 application form.
5. The candidate must appear for PGD-CET-2012 and should have scored 50% marks (40% for category
candidate) in PGD-CET-2012.
6. Candidate will get 10% additional marks for every one year of service in Government Dental College
on the post of Dental Surgeon provided maximum addition should not be more than 30% of the
marks obtained in PGD-CET-2012.
7. Separate Merit List of In-service candidates will be prepared on the basis of combined marks in the
PGD-CET-2012 and additional weightage as per (6) mentioned above.

Other eligibility criteria given in the PGD-CET 2012 brochure are applicable.

All the candidates who are eligible as per the above criteria and who appeared in PGD-CET 2012
should submit an application to the head of the institute where he/she is serving in a prescribed format
(Given on website),So as to reach this office on or before 28th May 2012
List of all such candidates will be displayed on the Website on 30th May 2012 along with eligibility
status.

All the provisionally eligible candidates as declared on the website on 30th May 2012 are called
for counselling and filling preference for admission to Dental Post Graduate Courses (seats reserved for inservice candidates) for the academic year 2012-2013 on Thursday 31-05-2012 at 11.am at Department of Physiology, Grant Government Medical College, Sir J J Hospital Campus, Byculla, Mumbai - 400 007.
(Proxy will not be permitted)

Preference form information brochure containing information about the process, distribution of
seats, subject and college combination code etc. will be available to the candidates from 26/05/2012 on
website of DMER (www.dmer.org) and will be made available to those candidates who are called for
preference form filling and counseling at the counselling centre.

Candidate should bring original certificates and a set of attested photocopies as per information
brochure. Candidate who has already taken admission elsewhere through AIDPEE 2012 or other PG
admission process should bring the selection letter issued by DGHS, New Delhi / Admission Authority and
certificate from the Head of the Institution mentioning the list of Original Certificates which are retained
by the Institute.

Candidate should bring black ink ballpoint pens, clipboard, HB pencil and eraser, downloaded
Information brochure of Preference form filling process, specimen copy of preference form.
The selection list will be declared on 04/06/2012. It will be displayed on the website. The last
date for joining and payment of fees will be 11/06/2012.

All the selected candidates will have to serve the Government of Maharashtra after Post
Graduation for a period of 10 years or pay Rs. 50 lacs as penalty.

DU CATE 2012 Exam Pattern


CATE is designed to test a candidate's aptitude for BA (H) English. The question paper will consist of two parts. Part A will comprise of multiple choice questions (MCQs) and Part B will comprise of descriptive type questions (comprehension and essay/creative writing). Candidates will have to attempt both parts of the question paper in the same sitting. In any case, it must be noted that only those candidates who qualify in Part A will have their Part B scripts evaluated.

The final aptitude quotient which is known as the CATE score, will be determined by collating the class 12th Examination marks(best of four subjects) and the CATE marks on a ratio of 30:70. A merit list is then compiled on the beasis of the collation The participating colleges will admit candidates to the course on the basis of cut-off points declared by them after the CATE scores are announced.
