Tata Memorial Centre (TMC)

Applications are invited for admission to the following DM and MCh programmes through Admission Test :

M.Ch.(Surgical Oncology). 4 seats (General), 2 seats (In-service)

DM (Medical Oncology) 10 seats (General), Nil

Eligibility Criteria

DM : Post Graduate Degree (MD or equivalent) in General Medicine Or Pediatrics Or Radiotherapy recognized by MCI.

MCh : Post Graduate Degree (MS or equivalent) in General Surgery Or ENT (Otorhinolaryngology) Or Orthopedics Or Obstetrics & Gynaecology.

Other requirement : Passed the MD/MS or equivalent in no more than two attempts. Secured an average of 55% marks or more in the III-MBB (Part-2 subjects) examinations. Candidates currently doing any DM/ MCh/ DNB(SS) are not Eligible.

The completed application form with all enclosures must reach the office of the Director, Academics, Service Block, 4th floor, R.No. 215,Tata Memorial Centre, Parel, Mumbai-400 012 on or before 31.05.2010.

The Demand Draft drawn in favour of “Tata Memorial Centre” payable at Mumbai of Rs. 2000/- (Two Thousand only) for DM and MCh must accompany the form. It is also mandatory to submit application online.

The envelope containing the application should be superscripted “APPLICATION FOR DM/M.Ch COURSE. Applications sent by Fax, E-Mail, Photocopies or any other form will not be entertained.

National Institute Of Foundry and Forge Technology (NIFFT)

Applications are invited for admission to PDF, Ph. D, M. Tech & Advanced Diploma Courses

Post Doctoral and Doctoral Programmes: ( PDF, Ph. D)

The Institute’s main emphasis is on Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Foundry, Forge & allied Materials Processing Technology, Environmental Science & Engineering, Computational Materials Engineering Pure and Applied Sciences. The selected candidates will also be required to assist in teaching and upkeep of the laboratories.

Master of Technology Courses: (M. Tech.)

Master of Technology course is of 24 months (4- semester) duration and is offered in the following areas:

(a) Foundry- Forge Technology
(b) Manufacturing Engineering
(c) Materials Science and Engineering
(d) Environmental Engineering

Advanced Diploma Courses : (ADC)

Advanced diploma course of 18 months (3-semester) duration is offered in the following areas:

(a) Foundry Technology
(b) Forge Technology

Eligibility Criteria

For Post Doctoral and Doctoral Programmes:

For Post Doctoral Fellow, a Ph.D degree is mandatory. For Ph.D, the candidates should have Master Degree in appropriate branch of engineering with minimum CGPA of 6.5 or 60 % from a recognized institute/ university. First class Master Degree in basic and applied sciences will also be considered. Candidate must have been admitted to the M.Tech. programme with a valid Gate score for scholarship. For admission to Ph.D programmes in Science/Humanities/Management, the candidates must have a NET Fellowship (UGC/CSIR) valid from the current year in relevant areas.

For M. Tech.:

For the respective courses as mentioned above

(a) Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/ Metallurgical/ Production Engineering or Equivalent

(b) Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/ Metallurgical/ Production/ Electrical/ Aeronautical/ Chemical/ Industrial/ Manufacturing
Engineering.

(c) Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/ Metallurgical/Ceramic/ Materials Science and Engineering or Master of Science in Physics/ Chemistry.

(c) Bachelor’s Degree in any branch of Engineering or Master of Science in Physics/ Chemistry/ Environmental Science.(with mathematics up to Bachelor level)

Minimum CGPA of 6.5 or 60 % aggregate marks for General and CGPA of 6.0 or 55 % aggregate marks for SC/ ST candidates.

Selection of candidates will be done on the basis of GATE score, marks obtained in last qualifying examinations and interview.

A valid GATE score is mandatory for grant of scholarship (Rs. 8000/- per month at present) as per AICTE norms. GATE score is not mandatory for sponsored / self-financing candidates.

For Advanced Diploma Courses:

Diploma in Mechanical/Metallurgical /Production Engineering or B.Sc. (Phy., Chem., Maths) with 50% marks for General/OBC category & 45% for SC/ST

Application forms (indicating name of the course) can be obtained from the office of Chairman, Academic Affairs, NIFFT, Hatia, Ranchi- 834 003 by sending requisite fee in the form of Demand Draft drawn on any Nationalized Bank in favour of “NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF FOUNDRY AND FORGE TECHNOLOGY’’ payable at Ranchi along with self addressed envelope of size 28x16 cm. bearing stamp worth Rs. 25/-.

Alternatively, the application form and other information can be downloaded from the institute’s website www.nifft.ernet.in .

Application Fees:

For Advanced Diploma Course: Rs. 300/-for General/ OBC and Rs. 80/- for SC/ST Candidates.

For Master of Technology Candidates: Rs. 350/- for General/ OBC and Rs. 100/- for SC/ST Candidates.

Application forms completed in all respect with supporting documents and requisite fees may be sent to the office of Chairman, Academic Affairs

For Doctoral Programme:

Application may be sent on plain paper giving details of curriculum vitae including academic achievements and work experience. No application fee is charged. Applications are generally entertained twice in a year in the months of June and December.
