Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan-2011(UK)

Applications are invited from Indian nationals either on line through http://www.education.nic.in/ or on plain paper in the FORMAT GIVEN for nominations from India for the award of Commonwealth Scholarships in United Kingdom tenable from October 2011 for higher studies/research/specialized training in the subjects mentioned below in the United Kingdom.

XLRI Jamshedpur XAT-2011

Eligibility Criteria

For Two Year Post Graduate Programme:
Candidate who have completed Bachelor's degree of minimum three years duration or equivalent in any discipline from a recognized university or deemed university are eligible to apply. Those completing their final examination by June 10, 2011 may also apply.

For One Year General Management Programme
Candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline from a recognized university or deemed university in India/abroad. He/She should be employed in a full-time job and must have at least five years of relevant managerial experience as on March 31, 2011 after completion of graduation.

For Four Year Fellow Programme in Management
Candidate should have Master's degree or equivalent in any discipline with atleast 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates) with the Bachelor's degree/ equivalent qualification with atleast 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates) obtained after a minimum of ( 10+2+3 years of education Or a professional qualification like CA/ ICWA/CS with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates) Or BE/B.Tech degree or equivalent with atleast 60% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates) and two years of relevant work experience.

Application Procedure

Step 1: XAT Registration for Admission Test

Candidate interested in taking XAT has to first register for XAT at www.xlri.net.in . After successfully completing the registration, the candidate has to download the XAT Pay-In-slip. A non- refundable amount of Rs. 900/- is to be tendered along with the pay-in-slip to obtain XAT Bulletin 2011 from select branches of Axis Bank. The detachable form given inside the bulletin is to be filled-up and sent to XAT Office along with the XLRI 's copy of XAT Pay-in-slip (that is signed and sealed by Axis Bank while buying the bulletin).

Alternatively, one can register for XAT after obtaining a demand draft (DD). A candidate has to first make a non-refundable DD for Rs. 950/- drawn in favour of “XLRI Jamshedpur A/c XAT" payable at Jamshedpur and then register for XAT at www.xlri.net.in . He/she then has to send the XAT PP Form (that is to be downloaded after registering for XAT) along with the DD to XAT Office, XLRI, Circuit House Area (East), Jamshedpur-831001. The XAT Office will dispatch the bulletin to the candidate on receiving the form and demand draft.

Alternatively, one can also register for XAT after making an online payment using credit card/ debit card/ net banking for an amount of Rs. 950/-. He/she then has to send the XAT PP form (that is to be downloaded after registering for XAT) along with transaction receipt to XAT office, XLRI, Circuit House Area (East), Jamshedpur-831001. The XAT Office will dispatch the bulletin to the candidate on receiving the form and the transaction receipt.

Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC)

The Fellow Programme contains two distinct streams:

Eligibility Criteria


An applicant to the Fellow Programme is required to have: EITHER a Master’s degree in any discipline with at least 55% marks (or equivalent professional qualification) and a three-year Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks in the aggregate; OR a First Class Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (i.e., with at least 60% marks in the aggregate or an equivalent grade point average). In addition, applicant must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate in either the Secondary or the Higher Secondary Examination of a Board (or equivalent).

A final-year student appearing for the Bachelor’s degree examination in Engineering or Master’s degree examination in any discipline can also apply. Such a candidate, if selected, will be provisionally admitted provided (s) he completes all requirements for obtaining the degree before 30th June, 2011. Admission of the candidate will remain provisional until (s)he produces mark sheets proving that (s)he satisfies the eligibility criteria. The deadline for submitting the final year degree mark sheets is 31st December, 2011.

Application Procedure

An applicant is required to submit a Fellow Programme (FP) Application Form 2011 for each area of specialization that (s)he applies for. Application forms are to be downloaded from the IIMC website: http://www.iimcal.ac.in/programs/FPM/ . If an applicant is unable to download the Form, (s)he can get the Forms physically collected from: The Fellow Programme Office, IIM Calcutta, Diamond Harbour Road, Kolkata 700104.

Completed Application Form(s) must be submitted along with an Application Fee of Rs.300. This fee should be paid by a crossed demand draft for Rs. 300/- payable to “Indian Institute of Management Calcutta” on a bank in Kolkata. An SC/ST/OBC applicant need not pay the application fee as long (s)he sends an attested photocopy of his/her SC/ST/OBC certificate.

When applying to two areas of specialization, an applicant is required to submit two separate application forms, complete in all respects, one for each area of specialization. However, a single payment of the application fee of Rs. 300/- will suffice for each applicant, as long as (s)he submits the two application forms at the same time (e.g., in the same mailing).

For each area of specialization applied for, two letters of recommendation (in the prescribed format) are required. Blank forms for recommendation letters, and instructions on how to return them, are contained in the Application Forms. Applicant must ensure that a submitted Application Form is complete in all respects. Along with the Form, the applicant is required to submit the following “supporting documents”:

Step 1.

Register for SNAP Test at www.snaptest.org

The Candidate is required to upload a latest scanned photograph of own at the time of online registration. This will generate your SNAP ID. For different modes of payment different ‘Payment Advice’ formats are created. Choose a payment mode and print a ‘Payment Advice’ form online.

Step 2.

Pay a non-refundable fee of Rs. 1550/- according to the payment mode. The 4 choices are:-

PAYMENT THROUGH CASH:

Pay cash only at an Axis Bank branch. After online SNAP 2010 registration print ‘Axis Bank Challan’ from SNAP website, this is in 3 parts. Pay Rs. 1550/- in cash at any Axis Bank branch in your city. Refer to the list of branches on the website. The bank will return two stamped parts of the ‘Axis Bank Challan’ to the candidate stating that it is the ‘Student copy’ as a receipt.

Sign the stamped ‘Symbiosis copy’ of the ‘Axis Bank Challan’ is required to be sent to Symbiosis Test Secretariat at the following Address,

Step 3.

Admit Card should be printed from the SNAP website. This will be operative from 07th December 2010 and will remain open till 19th December, 2010. Ensure the following.

Print the Admit Card online.

Bring the Admit card with the Photo Id Proof to the Test Center. An acceptable photo identity is any one of *Passport * Driving license *College / Institute identity card, *Credit card with photograph,* Voter ID Card. At the time of the written test, it is mandatory to produce photo identity as described above. Symbiosis Authorized Person will verify and authenticate your Admit Card against the photo-id. Please preserve this authenticated Admit Card for further selection processes of individual Institutes.

SNAP Test Structure:

SNAP Test duration is 120 minutes.

SNAP Test is an objective test. Each question has 4 responses. Candidate should choose an appropriate response.

Each wrong answer attracts 25% negative marks.
