Eligibility Criteria

Executives with graduate degree (minimum 3 years duration) in any discipline (or equivalent qualification) from a recognized university.

Selection Procedure

Selection of candidate is based on professional experience, Academic record, GMAT score and personal interviews. In addition to this candidates are required to submit a statement of purpose and recommendations from two refrees holding senior managerial positions. These are also taken into consideration in the final selection.

Punjabi University Patiala M.Phil / Ph.D Admission

The admission to M.Phil. courses and Ph.D. Programme during the academic session 2011- 2012 will be made on the basis of common Entrance Test.

Eligibility Criteria

For Ph.D. Programmes:

The candidates shall be admitted to Ph.D. Programme either directly or through M.Phil programme.

(i) Masters degree in the concerned/ allied subject (as determined by the Departmental Research Board) with 55% marks at Masters Degree and 50% marks at Bachelors Degree Level. (SC candidates will get 5% relaxation in post graduation Marks, as per rules). OR

(ii) M.Phil./M.Litt. Degree with B+ or equivalent. OR

(iii) In case of Defence Personnel who have obtained Masters Degree on the basis of staff college, registration will be allowed if the candidate has obtained at least 60% marks in the Master’s Degree. OR

(iv) Candidates who have passed C.A./I.C.W.A./Company Secretary Examinations are eligible for getting registered for Ph.D. Degree. OR

(v) All whole time teachers either of recognized private colleges or of Govt. Colleges who are serving within the jurisdiction of Punjabi University, Patiala with five years teaching experience are eligible for getting registered for Ph.D. Degree.

Application Form

The candidate shall apply for admission to the M.Phil courses or Ph.D. Programme on a prescribed form (FORM-I) which may be downloaded from the University website www.punjabiuniversity.ac.in .

The application form, duly filled, shall be submitted to the Co-ordinator, M.Phil./Ph.D Entrance Test Cell 2011, Department of Botany, Punjabi University, Patiala 147002 along with a Demand Draft of Rs. 1500/- (Rs. 1000/- for SC/ST candidates) in favour of the Registrar, Punjabi University, Patiala, payable at Patiala. In case of late submission of Application from late fees will be charged as already notified.

The documents must be submitted in the following sequence.

i) Bank Draft
ii) Entrance Test Form (FORM -I) and Admit card
iii) Two Self addressed duly stamped (Rs 5.00) 9" x 4" envelops for Admit Card and Result Card.
iv) Copy of SC/ST certificate if concession in Application fee is claimed.

Admission to 2-Years M.Ed. Course through Distance Education

Punjabi University M.Ed Application Form

Prospectus will be available w.e.f. 5.7.2011 which can be obtained from the Enquiry & information Centre of Punjabi University on cash payment of Rs. 1100/- for General Category and for SC/ST/
Handicapped Rs. 1000/- or by registered post from the Department of Distance Education by sending a crossed demand draft for Rs. 1160/- for General Category and Rs. 1060/- for SC/ST/
Handicapped, in favour of Registrar, Punjabi University, Patiala alongwith self-addressed envelope (12"x10" size) written thereon "M.Ed. Entrance Test Form".

It can also be downloaded from the Website www.dccpbi.com . In this case, demand draft of Rs. 1100/- for General Category and of Rs. 1000/- for SC/ST/Handicapped, drawn in favour of Registrar, Punjabi University, Patiala should be attached.

Application form for Entrance Test must reach the Coordinator, M.Ed. Entrance Test Cell, Department of Distance Education, Punjabi University, Patiala (by registered post/courier/by hand) without late fee upto 27-7-2011 ,

with late fee of Rs. 500/- upto 3.8.2011 ,
with late fee of Rs. 1000/- upto 10.8.2011,
with late fee of Rs. 2000/- upto 17.8.2011 and
with late fee of Rs. 4000/- upto 23-8-2011.
