For Advanced Computing: BE / BTech or Equivalent in any stream, M Sc (Electronics), M.Sc (Instrumentation), MCM (With B.Sc.), B.Sc. (Engg.), MCA (After B.Sc.), MCS (After B.Sc.). Final year students may apply.

For Embedded System Design: BE / B. Tech. (Electronics, Electronics & Telecommunication, Instrumentation, Electrical), M.Sc. (Electronics & Instrumentation), or equivalent. Final year students may apply.

Punjabi University Patiala M.Phil / Ph.D Common Entrance Test CET

Punjabi University Patiala M.Phil / Ph.D Admission

The admission to M.Phil. courses and Ph.D. Programme during the academic session 2011- 2012 will be made on the basis of common Entrance Test.

Eligibility Criteria

For Ph.D. Programmes:

The candidates shall be admitted to Ph.D. Programme either directly or through M.Phil programme.

(i) Masters degree in the concerned/ allied subject (as determined by the Departmental Research Board) with 55% marks at Masters Degree and 50% marks at Bachelors Degree Level. (SC candidates will get 5% relaxation in post graduation Marks, as per rules). OR

(ii) M.Phil./M.Litt. Degree with B+ or equivalent. OR

(iii) In case of Defence Personnel who have obtained Masters Degree on the basis of staff college, registration will be allowed if the candidate has obtained at least 60% marks in the Master’s Degree. OR

(iv) Candidates who have passed C.A./I.C.W.A./Company Secretary Examinations are eligible for getting registered for Ph.D. Degree. OR

(v) All whole time teachers either of recognized private colleges or of Govt. Colleges who are serving within the jurisdiction of Punjabi University, Patiala with five years teaching experience are eligible for getting registered for Ph.D. Degree.

Application Form

The candidate shall apply for admission to the M.Phil courses or Ph.D. Programme on a prescribed form (FORM-I) which may be downloaded from the University website www.punjabiuniversity.ac.in .

The application form, duly filled, shall be submitted to the Co-ordinator, M.Phil./Ph.D Entrance Test Cell 2011, Department of Botany, Punjabi University, Patiala 147002 along with a Demand Draft of Rs. 1500/- (Rs. 1000/- for SC/ST candidates) in favour of the Registrar, Punjabi University, Patiala, payable at Patiala. In case of late submission of Application from late fees will be charged as already notified.

The documents must be submitted in the following sequence.

i) Bank Draft
ii) Entrance Test Form (FORM -I) and Admit card
iii) Two Self addressed duly stamped (Rs 5.00) 9" x 4" envelops for Admit Card and Result Card.
iv) Copy of SC/ST certificate if concession in Application fee is claimed.

Common entrance test (CET-LL.M) 2011

The test is conducted for admission into LLM Programs


The school of legal studies, indian maritime university (IMU) will hold common entrance test (CET-LL.M) on June 19, 2011 at Bangalore, Chennai, Cochin, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, and Pune.  The CET-LLM 2011 is all India entrance examination and mandatory qualification for admission to the LL.M program to be offered at the Indian Maritime University  chennai and Indian Maritime University Cochin campuses from the August 2011 session.

CET (LL.M) 2011 Eligibility

The candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in law with at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA{50% in case of candidates belonging to scheduled caste (SC), scheduled tribe (ST) and differently abled (DA) categories} awarded by any of the universities incorporated by an act of the central of state legislature in india.  Candidates appearing for the final year of the bachelor’s degree/ equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirement and are awaiting results can also apply.  Prospective candidates must maintain a valid email account throughout the selection process.

CET-LLM 2011 Application Form

IMU-CET (LL.M) application form will be made available through the following channels:

Downloading the application form, information brochure and challan through www.imu.tn.nic.in and paying the relevant fee through challan to any of SBI/Indian Bank branches throughout india.

Through select branches of indian bank by paying Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 500/- for SC/ST/DA candidates). For details of branches please refer www.imu.tn.nic.in.

By sending demand draft of Rs1000/- (Rs 500/- for SC/ST/DA candidates) in favour of “indian maritime university” payable at “chennai” to “controller of examinations” at above address.

Direct visit to any of IMU campuses at chennai, cochin, Mumbai, Kolkata and vizag and submitting a demand draft of Rs 1000/- (Rs 500/- for SC/St/DA candidates) in favour of “indian maritime university” payable at “chennai”

Filled in application, in all respect, must be sent to “controller of examinations, indian maritime university, east coast road, uthandi, chennai 600119” by super scribing the envelope “application for IMU-CET (LL.M) June 2011”.

In view of the stated Extended second round of 50% All India Quota seats, the schedule to fill State Quota seats by Personal Counseling round will be as per below stated schedule.

Date: 21 /06/ 2010 Up-to 5.00 P.m.
The candidates who has joined a seat of 50% All India quota in the State of Maharashtra, and wishes to surrender, should surrender his/her seat so as to be eligible for Personal Counseling Round and PGD-CET-2011 (i.e. next PGDCET).[ As per the rules of PGD-CET-2010 (Rule No. 12.4.1 (c))]

Friday 26 / 06 / 2010:

11.00 a.m.: The candidates who have filled the preference form either on 24/3/2010 or 15/4/2010, and eligible as per rule no. 12.4 of PGD-CET 2010 brochure.

12.30 p.m.: Inter-Se round If seat/s of Constitutional Reservation remain vacant.

All those candidates to whom a seat has been allotted in the first round of PGDCET 2010 should note that the Status Retention Form filled prior to 22/06/2010 stands

The selection process will be according to the rules of PGD-CET 2010. All the desirous candidates who are eligible as per the rules should attend the personal counseling round according to the above schedule.
The candidates should bring all the original documents for verification as per the rule no. 11.2.3 of PGD- CET 2010 information brochure.

Candidates who have already joined a PG Course through PGD-CET 2010 should bring a certificate issued by the institute where he/she has joined, stating that the original certificates have been retained by it.

Candidates should note that they have to confirm the admission immediately after allotment of seat by paying Rs.1000/- in cash as admission fee and deposit all the original documents at the time of personal counseling.

C-DAC, Advanced Computing Training School





Post Graduate Diploma in Language Computing (PGDLC) is a 6-months Programme

Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Computer Arts (DACA) is a 24 weeks programme

Post Graduate Diploma in VLSI Design course is a 24 weeks programme

Eligibility: For PGDLC:

B.E./B.Tech./M.Tech./M.C.A./M.Sc.(Computer Science/IT) OR M.A. (Linguistics/ Applied Linguistics/ Language/Literature) OR B.A. (Language / Literature) with Diploma in Translation / Linguistics

For DACA:

10+2+3, 10+2+4, M.F.A., B.F.A., B.Arch, G.D. Arts, or other equivalent degree or diploma holders in the field of Advertising, Commercial Arts, Painting, Sculpture, Textile, Fashion Designing, Interior Decoration.

Students from other academic backgrounds having artistic inclination and creative abilities are also encouraged to do this course. But they must qualify through the Entrance Test and Interview. Applicants need to have basic knowledge of using computers.

For VLSI:

M Tech / B Tech / ME / BE in Electronics / Electrical /E&TC / Instrumentation / Computer Science / M.Sc (electronics). OR

Experienced electronic designers, developers, system integrators from electronic industry and R&D organizations.

Students who have appeared for final examinations of any of the above courses may also apply.

All applicants should possess a working knowledge of DOS or Windows or Unix environments.

Application procedure: C-DAC's application form for the Common Entrance Test (CET), is to be filled online at http://acts.cdac.in (recommended). The non-refundable registration fee of Rs.500/- (for online) for the CET is to be paid by DD drawn on any nationalized bank in favor of ‘C-DAC, ACTS’ payable at Pune.

Printed Application Forms along with the instruction sheet are also available free of cost at all the Training Centres offering the PG DLC course. Candidates can fill in the printed application form and attach a DD drawn on any nationalized bank in favour of “C-DAC, ACTS” payable at Pune of Rs.600/-(for manual only) towards registration fees for the CET along with a recent passport size photograph and submit the same at any of the training centres offering the DAC course or the same can be sent by speed post / courier only to the address mentioned above.

Eligibility: The candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized Board, Council or University and must have obtained at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Botany] and Zoology taken together and must have passed in English .
