Only 2,000 CBSE Board students apply for copies of answer sheets

The Honorable Supreme Court delivered a judgment on August 9, 2011 which allows CBSE school board students to get carbon copies of their answer booklet under the RTI act. All student need to do is submit an online application form and submit a fee for the same. Under the provision 2284 CBSE Class 12th Board students applied to get carbon copies
of answer sheets in year 2012. However, only 68 Class 10th CBSE students applied for answer sheets. June 30 was the last date to apply for class 10th CBSE answer sheets and July 4 for class 12th.

Under new rule if a student finds any error in totaling of marks or grades or find if any answer is no evaluated then he / she should write to CBSE regional office immediately. However, CBSE does not any facilities for reevaluation of answer sheets.

KVs will get Hi-Tech E-Classrooms

Kendriya Vidyalayas aka KVs are schools of national importance providing education starting from beginning of schooling of a child to class 12th. Now these KVs are all set to get e-classrooms. First on a pilot project basis 500 e-classrooms
will be developed for 50 Kendriya Vidyalayas to offer the teacher and the taught ICT enabled learning environment.

It is to be noted that KVs has highest student – computer ratio. The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan i.e. KVS is already under plan to give tablets to students from Class 9th onward from year 2013. Starting from 20 schools in 1962-63 now in year 2012 there exists 1087 KVs which provides education to more than 1 million students. Also KVs are best performers among CBSE School Board. Upon success of the pilot project the scheme should be launched for more schools in phased manner.

Goa has highest unemployment; Gujarat the least

The statistical data released by Labor Bureau of Government of India indicates the national unemployment rate for the previous year was around 3.8%. Bihar, Kerala, West Bengal and Goa recorded the highest unemployment rate while states like Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Punjab recorded the lowest unemployment rate according to statistics.
The 'Second Annual Employment and Unemployment Survey 2011-12' conducted by the Union Ministry of Labour and Employment's. The Labor Bureau collected data from 81,000 rural households and 47,000 urban households.

The bureau’s report indicates towards downtrend in employment for woman. Only 17.9% in urban areas makes part of employed population against 73.3% male population. The states Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Meghalaya, Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh have high no of female involvement in labor force. The states Punjab, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Uttarakhand recorded lowest number of female participation. Almost half of the employed population is self employed and nearly a third is casual labor. Also the unemployment rate among general category is higher than the scheduled castes and scheduled tribes categories. The employment sectors like agriculture, forestry, fishing and mining give work opportunities to most the population in India.
