GATE 2013 Eligibility Criteria

GATE 2013 is administered by IIT Bombay for Admission into IITs, IISc Bangalore and other GATE Score accepting institutions. Who are eligible to write GATE 2013? Here is a sum up of GATE 2013 eligibility criteria.

B.E / B.Tech / B.Arch i.e Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology/Architecture (4 years 
after 10+2/Post B.Sc./Post-Diploma)


M.Sc / MA / MCA i.e Master’s degree in any branch of Science / Mathematics / Statistics / 
Computer Applications or equivalent

Int. M.E / M.Tech or DD i.e Integrated Master’s degree programs or Dual Degree programs in 
Engineering / Technology (Five year programme)


Int. ME / M.Tech i.e Post-BSc Integrated Master’s degree programs in Engineering / Technology (Four year programme)


Professional Society Examinations (equivalent to B.E/B.Tech/B.Arch) i.e B.E/B.Tech equivalent examinations, of Professional Societies, recognized by MHRD/UPSC/AICTE (e.g. AMIE by Institution of Engineers-India, AMICE by the Institute of Civil Engineers-India). Candidates who have completed Section A or equivalent of such professional courses

GATE 2013 Application Submission Closes on 3Oct 2012

 GATE 2013 administered by IIT Bombay this year, last date for submission of application form was extended to 1Oct 2012 IST 10 AM. After this time candidates can only edit the GATE 2013 application by logging on to official GATE 2013 application website http://gateapp.iitb.ac.in:8080/GATE/ till 3rd Oct 2012, 10AM IST.


After the above mentioned date and time

•      No Online Submission of Application form even for registered applicants will be allowed.
•     No online fee-payments can be made.
•     Chalans for offline payments can be downloaded and paid for in SBI/Canara branches till 8 October 2012.
•     Applicants who have submitted before the deadline will be able to view the status, raise queries, and print their application form.
•     Hard copy application forms must reach Zonal GATE offices by post or in person before 6pm on 8 October 2012.

IIT Gandhinagar PhD and Non Degree Admission 2012

The IIT Gandhinagar invites aplications from for admission to the PhD program and Non degree program.

PhD programs are offers in following areas-

Chemical, Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Cognitive Science, English, Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, Political Science, South Asian Studies and Social Epidemiology

Non-Degree Programs

1. A student of another recognized institute can spend a semester or two at IIT Gandhinagar with full registration in any of the undergraduate or postgraduate programs.
2. A professional can officially register for one or two courses on part time basis to enhance learning while pursing job.
