JAM 2013 Application Process

Step 1: Procurement of Offline Application Form

Candidate can obtain a packet containing:

    OfflineApplication Form

    Information Brochure

    Envelope

From  Designated Bank Branches of Canara Brank on cash payment.


Step 2: Obtain SC/ST/PD Certificate (if applicable)

Authorities empowered to issue Certificates SC/ST

OBC candidates NEED NOT SEND any certificate with the application form. It will be required only at the time of applying for admission

Step 3: Fill in the Application Form

Candidates must follow the instructions provided in JAM 2013 information brochure.

Step 4:

    Write your name & application form number on the reverse side of photograph before pasting.

    Paste your recent photograph (3 cm X 4 cm) in the designated place on OMR sheet.

    Sign at the designated places of OMR sheet.

    Write the test city first & second choice codes, paper code(s) and your address on the envelope.
    Ensure that you have attached all the enclosures (DD for additional (second) test paer, if applicable) with the duly filled-in application form as mentioned in the check list on the envelope filled by you.

Step 5: Post/Submission

Duly filled-in Application Form with appropriate enclosures must be sent by Speed Post (preferably) or by Registered Post to The Organizing Chairman, JAM 2013, IIT Delhi, Block-I, Hauz Khas, NEW DELHI-110 016 so as to reach there on or before 30th October , 2012.

JAM 2013 Online Application Process

Step 1: Payment Option

    Payment through Demand Draft only.

Demand draft of appropriate amount should be drawn in favour of “Chairman JAM, IIT Delhi”, on any bank, payable at Delhi.


Step 2: Obtain SC/ST/PD Certificate (if applicable)


Authorities empowered to issue Certificates SC/ST

OBC candidates NEED NOT SEND any certificate with the application form. It will be required only at the time of applying for admission.

Step 3: Apply Online (Link from top menu item will be active on or after September 20, 2012)

Candidates must follow all instructions strictly while applying online.

At the end of this process, a PDF file will be generated with the following pages:

    Page-1: JAM 2013 Application Form

    Page-2: Address Slip/ Mailing Label

Take a print out of the entire file.

Step 4:

    Write your name & application form number on the reverse side of photograph before pasting.
    Paste your recent color photograph (3 cm X 4 cm) in the designated place on Page-1.

    Sign at the designated places of Page-1.

    Paste the portion marked on the Page-2 on top of a A4-size envelope.
    Ensure that you have attached all the enclosures with the duly filled-in application form as mentioned in the check list on the envelope filled by you.

Step 5: Post/Submission

Duly filled-in Application Form with appropriate enclosures must be sent by Speed Post (preferably) or by Registered Post to The Organizing Chairman, JAM 2013, IIT Delhi, Block-I, Hauz Khas, NEW DELHI-110 016 so as to reach there on or before  30th October, 2012.

JAM 2013 admit card will be sent to you by post. In case of any discrepancy please inform to Organizing Chairman, JAM 2013, IIT Delhi

JAM 2013 Admit Card can also be downloaded from url http://gate.iitd.ac.in/jam

If a candidate did not receive JAM 2013 admit card by January 21, 2013 and also not able to download, he / she should inform to the Chairman JAM 2013 to the respective zone
where first choice of test centers falls via faz/phone/email giving the Application Form Number/Online Registration Number, name, mailing address and city code of the desired test centre (first choice) to get information about registration number and name of the test centre allotted. Those candidates who have not received their Admit Card, due to postal delay or any other reason, will be issued a Duplicate Admit Card by the Presiding Officer of their respective Test centres, on the morning of the date of examination, 10 February, 2013 (before 8.00 a.m.), on production of a photograph identical to that pasted on the Application/ Online Registration Form and the Identity Card from the institution last attended (bring original Identity Card and its photocopy).

Preserve JAM 2013 card till admission process is over. This is important document you would need in every step while proceeding for admission.

JAM 2013 Test Paper Pattern

  • The questions for Biological Sciences (BL), Biotechnology (BT) and Computer Applications (CA) test papers will be fully objective type.
  • There will be negative marking for wrong answers to the objective type questions in BL, BT and CA test papers.
  • Candidates will get negative 1/3 for a wrong answer.
  • The JAM 2013 test papers have to be answered in an Objective Response Sheet (ORS) by darkening appropriate bubbles using a black ink ball point pen.
  • All other JAM 2013 test papers viz; CY, GP, MS, GG, MA, PH will be objective-cum-descriptive type.
  • There will be a “question-cum-answer booklet” for each of these six test papers. Answers to various questions are to be given at appropriate places in the “question-cumanswer booklet” itself.
  • No supplementary sheet will be provided.
  • Each of these six test papers will have multiple choice type questions(MCQ), fill-in-blank type questions, and descriptive type questions, carrying weightages of 20%, 30% and 50%, respectively.
  • The objective type questions in these test papers will have four choices as possible answers, of which, only one will be correct.
  • There will be negative marking for wrong answers to the objective type questions.
  • Each objective type question carries 02 marks for a correct answer and negative 0.50 marks for a wrong answer.
  • There will be no negative marking for fill-in-the-blank type questions.
Note: USE of es Calculator will not be allowed. However you can use fx calculator.
The medium of examination for all test papers will be English only.

JAM 2013 Exam Dates

Here given JAM 2013 Exam Schedule - Joint Admission Test for MSc

JAM 2013 will held on 10 February 2013 in two sessions.

Session I : 9AM to 12 Noon: Examination for following subjects will be held-
  • BL - Biological Science
  • CA - Computer Applications
  • CY – Chemistry
  • GP - Geophysics
  • MS - Mathematical Statistics
Session II : 2PM to 5PM: Examination for following subjects will be held -
  • BT – Biotechnology
  • GG – Geology
  • MA - Mathematics
  •  PH - Physics 
Note: A candidates can appear in two JAM papers if satisfies eligibility criteria.

JAM 2013 - Joint Admission Test for M.Sc Notification

JAM 2013 – Joint Admission Test for M.Sc is entrance examination for admission into Integrated Ph.D – IISc Bangalore and M.Sc (2 year), Joint M.Sc Ph.D, M.Sc PhD Dual Degree and other Post Bachelor’s Degree programs at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, IIT Roorke, IIT Bhubneshwar, IIT Gandhinagar, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Indore. The JAM 2013 will be organized by IIT Delhi in February 2013. Notifications in this regard are already out. IITs started JAM test since 2004-05.
Following are some additions to JAM 2013-


  • JAM 2013 score will be accepted by Tata Institute i.e IISc Bangalore for admission into Integrated PhD program. Students can join this program right after B.Sc degree.
  • JAM 2013 will include a new JAM Test Paper in Biological Sciences.
  • There shall be no charged from female candidates for appearing in JAM 2013.
  • Students can carry non programmable calculator to JAM 2013 test centers.
  • Admission to M.Sc-PhD Dual degree at IIT Kanpur, Integrated PhD to IISc Bangalore, M.Sc PhD Dual Degree to IIT Bombay will be based on JAM 2013 test score and Interview. The interview dates will be as follows-
  • IITK M.Sc-Ph.D Dual Degree – 10-11 May 2012
  • IISc Bangalore Integrated PhD 13-16 May 2012
  • IIT Bombay M.Sc-PhD Dual Degree 17-19 May 2012

Here mentioned JAM 2013 Eligibility Criteria for appearing in JAM Test and Admission into IITs and IISc Bangalore
 

Eligibility for admission into IISc Bangalore- Minimum 1st class marks in qualifying examination for General / OBC candidates and minimum 50% marks for SC/ST category candidates.

 For IITs – Minimum 55% marks for General/OBC category candidates and minimum 50% marks for SC/ST category candidates or equivalent CGPA.

Integrated Ph.D in Chemical Sciences – IISc Bangalore
Eligibility - B.Sc. or an equivalent degree with Chemistry as one of the subjects. The candidates should have passed mathematics at the PUC or +2 level.

M.Sc.- Ph.D. Dual Degree in Biotechnology IIT Bombay
Eligibility - Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Science/Agriculture / Pharmacy / Veterinary /Engineering / Medicine (MBBS).The candidate should have passed Mathematics at the (10+2) level.

Biotechnology

Integrated Ph.D in Biological Sciences – IISc Bangalore
Eligibility - Bachelor’s degree in Biology or Chemistry or Physics or Mathematics. The candidates should have passed Biology at the Higher Secondary (10+2) level.

M.Sc Biotechnology – IIT Bombay and IIT Roorkee
Eligibility - Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Science/Agriculture / Pharmacy / Veterinary /Engineering / Medicine (MBBS). NOTE: For IITB only, M.Sc. Biotechnology and M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree in Biotechnology, the candidate should have passed Mathematics at the (10+2) level.

M.Sc PhD Dual Degree in IIT Bombay
