Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM)

Eligibility Criteria

Masters degree (minimum two years prescribed duration after 10+2+3 years of formal education) in relevant discipline (relevancy has to be decided by the IIFM) with at least 60% marks in the Master’s degree and with good academic records.

For IIFM Graduates, who has done PGDFM and IIM graduates who have done PGDM, the minimum OGPA of 3.33 (equivalent to B+) in 4.33 maximum scale, is required.

For those qualifications where the above 4.33 scale is not available, the eligibility will be decided by the Equivalence Committee constituted by the Director, IIFM and its decision will be final.

Application Procedure

Interested candidates are required to submit their applications in the prescribed application form with all supporting documents mentioned in the form. Application form and details about the programme are available at the website http://www.iifm.ac.in/fpm (or) can be obtained in person or by post by sending a request along with bank draft of Rs. 200.

Admission Procedure: Based on CAT or GMAT Score (not older than 2 Years CAT 2009, 2010) or UGC-CSIR NET JRF. Candidates who have a PGDFM from IIFM or PGDM from IIM with minimum OGPA of 3.33 out of 4.33 can apply directly. Eligible candidates with 5 years work experience (4 years for engineering post graduates) can also apply but will have to appear for a written test at IIFM. Shortlisted candidates will be called for Group Discussion and interview.

Panjab University Chandigarh (PUC)

Applications are invited for admission to MBA, MBA (IB), MBA (HR) and MBA (Biotech)


Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for MBA, MBA (IB). MBA (HR): A recognized Bachelor's degree in any discipline with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate or a pass in final examination conducted by ICAI/ ICWAI /ICSI or AMIE with 50% marks (See UBS Handbook of information 2011).

Eligibility for MBA (Biotech): A Bachelors degree in Biological Sciences, i.e., Biology, Botany, Microbiology, Zoology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Genetics, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Veterinary Sciences, BE / B.Tech (Biotechnology), B.Sc. (Bioinformatics), MBBS, BDS and BE (informatics) with not less than 50% marks in aggregate (See UBS Handbook of information 2011).

Candidates appearing in final degree examination are eligible to apply and can take the test provisionally. Reservation as per approved norms of Panjab University. Concession of 5% marks in the eligibility requirements of SC/ST/BC candidates.

Forms can also be obtained by post upto October 12, 2010 from Manager, Publication Bureau, Panjab University, Chandigarh, by enclosing a crossed Bank Draft for Rs.2080/- (Rs.1080/- for SC/ST candidates) in favour of Registrar, Panjab University, Chandigarh, payable at Chandigarh, and self-addressed envelope (30x25 cms).

Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIML)

Admission to two-year Post Graduate Programme in Agribusiness Management (PGP - ABM) 2011 – 2013

Eligibility Criteria

(a) A Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Science/ Agricultural Engineering or allied subjects - (01) Agriculture: Agronomy, Soil Science, Agriculture Biochemistry, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Extension, Plant Breeding and Genetics, Entomology, Plant Pathology etc.; (02) Agricultural Engineering; (03) Animal Husbandry; (04) Dairy Science/Technology; (05) Forestry; (06) Food Technology; (07) Horticulture; (08) Rural Studies/Rural Sociology/ Rural Cooperatives/ Rural Banking; (09) Science: Biology, Biochemistry, Bio-technology, Botany, Life Science, Zoology and (10) Veterinary Science - with at least 50% marks (45% in case of SC/ ST/ PWD category) or equivalent CGPA from any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the Central of State legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing Higher Secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent. OR

(b) The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks (45% in case of SC/ST/PWD category) or equivalent CGPA of any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State legislature in India or other education institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing Higher Secondary schooling or equivalent with at least two years experience or strong interest in the field of Agriculture or allied sector.

Such candidates (eligible under criteria ‘b’ given above) must submit a Special Form for PGP-ABM. This form can also be downloaded from the IIML website http://www.iiml.ac.in . This form should be directly submitted to the Admission Office, Indian Institute of Management, Prabandh Nagar, Off Sitapur Road, Lucknow – 226013 by October 17, 2010.

Candidates in their final year Bachelor’s degree programme can also apply. However, if selected, they will be allowed to join the programme only if they complete their examinations, practical, viva-voce, and all other requirements for obtaining the degree before June 30, 2011 and a produce a certificate to this effect from Principal/ Registrar of the college/ institute at the time of registration. There will be no relaxation on the deadline under any circumstances.

Admission to PGP – ABM will be done based on Common Admission Test (CAT) 2010.

Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI)

 Applications are hereby invited from Engineering post-graduates for the award of fellowships under the DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme  for Ph.D. (DGFS- Ph.D.) for pursuing research in an Engineering discipline leading to the award of Ph.D. degree of HBNI. The terms and conditions of the Fellowships are:

1. The DGFS-PhD Fellowship is tenable for three years for doing Ph.D. in an Engineering discipline in one of the four R&D centres listed above.

2. The amount of Fellowship payable under the scheme is Rs.18000/- (likely to be increased) per month besides house rent allowance and medical benefits as per rules.

3. The selected Fellows will carry out research under the joint supervision of two guides, one having strength in basic research and the other in technology development.

4. After the award of the Ph.D., the DGFS-Ph.D. fellows will have the option to appear for selection under K.S. Krishnan Research Associateship (KSKRA) programme without going through further process of screening. KSKRAs are selected every year and paid a stipend of Rs.20,000/- (likely to be revised) + benefits for a maximum period of 2 years. Anytime during the 2nd year of associateship, subject to satisfactory performance, the KSKRAs will be absorbed in one of the R&D centres of DAE as above and appointed in the Grade Scientific Officer (D/E).

Eligibility Criteria

a: Qualifying Degree and other academic qualifications:
Candidates should possess M. E. / M. Tech. or equivalent degree in Mechanical / Chemical/ Metallurgical /Electrical/Electronics / Instrumentation or Computer engineering disciplines with minimum 60% Marks in B.E./B. Tech. and minimum of 60% marks in M.E./ M.Tech. or equivalent degree as per the Ordinance of the respective degree awarding University OR equivalent CGPI (converted to % Marks by multiplying with 100% if the CGPAs on x points scale).

b. Age limit: The candidates desirous of availing DGFS-Ph.D. Fellowship should have been born on or after January 1, 1983. Age limit is relaxable by three years for OBC and by Eve years for SC/ST applicants. The age limit for the candidates working as faculty in Engineering Colleges desirous of doing Ph.D. without the fellowship grant is 40 years.

c. Nationality: Applicant should be an Indian citizen.
