The Federative Republic Of Brazil is the fifth largest country in terms of both population and total area in the world. Its’ geographic boundary lies between Atlantic Ocean and South America. The countries that makes boundary of Brazil are Guyana, Surinam, Venezuela and department of French Guiana to the north, Columbia to the northwest, Peru and Bolivia to the West and Argentina and Paraguay to the southwest and Uruguay to the south.  A number of archipelagos are part of Brazilian territory, like Penedos de São Pedro e São Paulo, Fernando de Noronha, Trindade e Martim Vaz and Atol das Rocas. The tropic of cancer and line of equator passes through Brazil. These were Portuguese who invaded Brazil during 1500.

Brazil has declared its independence from Portugal on September 7, 1822, and recognized as Independent nation on August 29, 1825. Brazil became Federative Democratic Republic on November 18, 1889 after getting its’ own constitution. The Brazil administration is divided into 26 states and 5564 municipalities. Brazil is a culturally mix country, Amerindian, African, Asian, European and largest number of Roman Catholics lives here. Brazilian people older than 18 yeas and younger than 70 years must have to vote; however voting is optional for people age between 16 to 18 years and older than 70 years.

Brazil exports goods to other countries like aircraft, coffee, vehicles, soybean, iron ore, orange juice, steel, ethanol, textiles, footwear, corned beef and electrical equipment. The southern and southeast Brazil has large industries. The poorest part in Brazil is northeast region. Approximately, one third of Brazils GDP comes from industries like automobiles, petrochemicals, computers, aircrafts, and consumer goods. Brazil is an active member of G20 industrial nations and G20 developing nations.

International Students require to apply for a Visa to study in Brazil. The common minimum requirements to apply for a Brazilian student visa are:

  • Accepted by a college / university in Brazil to pursue a Full Time Course.
  • Possess required eligibility certificates to take admission in one such.
  • Hold a valid Passport for the intended period of stay.
  • Proof of income or sufficient means to support studies in Brazil
  • Health Certificate issued by a competent hospital from the home country.
  • Candidates holding above documents may apply for Visa with nearest Foreign Mission Office of Brazil in the home country.
