AIIMS MBBS 2011 Entrance Exams

AIIMS New Delhi invites applications for admission into MBBS programs 2011. The application forms shall be available from Feb 15th 2011.

AIIMS MBBS Entrance Exam 2011: Important Dates

Date of Entrance examination: 1st of June, 2011
Availability of application forms: mid week of February 15- March 15, 2011
Last date for receipt of completed application form: 15 March, 2011

AIIMS MBBS Entrance Exam 2011: Eligibility:

To get admission in MBBS course in AIIMS a candidate has to pass class 12th with atleast 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. For SC/ST candidates the minimum aggregate required is 50%. Also a candidate should have attained the age of atleast 17 years by 31st December, 2011.

AIIMS MBBS Entrance Exam 2011: Pattern of examination

AIIMS Entrance for MBBS is of three and a half hours duration having 200 multiple choice and reason-assertion type questions. There are 60 questions each from Physics, Chemistry and Biology and 20 questions from General Knowledge. There is negative marking for incorrect answers.

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS)

Admission under 50% seats quota in various Postgraduate (MD/MS/ Diploma & MDS) courses in Medical and Dental colleges in the country run by the Union of India, State Governments (except Government of Andhra Pradesh and J&K) and Municipal or other local authorities.

Eligibility Criteria

(1) Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply

(2) The candidate must posses MBBS/BDS degree from a recognized Medical/Dental College or a foreign degree included in the schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and full registration either from the Medical/ Dental Council of India or State Medical/Dental Council after completing the compulsory rotating internship.

(3) Candidates who have obtained MBBS/BDS from Medical/Dental colleges in Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible to apply. However, candidates who were nominated by the Government of India (Ministry of Health & Family Welfare/D.G.H.S., New Delhi) to do MBBS/BDS from Medical/Dental Colleges in Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir are eligible to apply subject to submission of requisite documents specified in the Prospectus.

(4) The candidates should complete the required period of 12 months pre-registration internship from a recognized Hospital on or before 31st March, 2011.

Application Procedure

The prospectus is available on the website www.aiimsexams.org and must be read by the applicants before applying. The cost of Application-cum-Examination fee is Rs.1000/- (Rs.800/- in case of SC/ ST candidates)

A. On-line Application: A candidate can submit application On-Line through Internet. Visit www.aiimsexams.org read the prospectus and other details carefully and follow the instructions given therein. The candidate can pay the application fee through a challan form (down loaded from internet while applying on-line) in any branch of State Bank of India. Transaction Processing Fee (as applicable) will be payable to the Bank.

B. Off-line Application: Prospectus-cum-Application Form can also be obtained BY POST by sending a crossed Bank Draft for Rs.1 050/- for General / OBC and Rs.850/- for SC / ST category, drawn in favour of the "ACCOUNTS OFFICER (EXAMS) AIPGMEE-2011". The Bank Draft should be payable at New Delhi and should be valid for six months (upto March/April, 2011).

The request should reach the Assistant Controller of Examinations, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Ansari Nagar, New Delhi-110 608 on or before 9th Nov 2010. The address at which Application Form is required should be written clearly in CAPITAL LETTERS and with PIN code.

The following words should be written on top of the envelope: "Request for Application Form for AIPGMEE-2011".

Prospectus can also be obtained by hand from the Reception Counter of Examination Section, AIIMS against Bank Draft for Rs.1000/- for General/OBC and Rs.800/- for SC/ST category drawn in favour of the
“ACCOUNTS OFFICER (EXAMS) AIPGMEE-2011” as specified above.

Eligibility Criteria

For DM: A Candidate must possess a degree in MD/MS or DNB from a University recognized by the MCI in the respective discipline

For M.Ch.: A candidate must possess M.S. degree in Surgery of this Institute or any other University recognized by the MCI.

Note : The candidate who are likely to complete 3 years requisite tenure and degree by 30th January 2011 may also apply. However, the candidates who complete their 3 years requisite tenure after 30th January 2011 are not eligible to take up this examination.

For MHA:

For medical graduates : (1) The candidate must possess MBBS or an equivalent degree with a minimum experience of three years in a hospital in the relevant field or five years in general practice. A certificate issued by the District Magistrate in support of the general practice claimed should be enclosed with the application.

(2) The candidate should have secured at least 55% marks in aggregate in all MBBS professional examinations.

For non-medical graduates: (1) Non-medical graduate will only be considered for Sponsored seats. (2) A candidates must possess Bachelor's Degree of a recognized University in Arts or Science or Nursing or Business Administration or Commerce or Engineering or any technical subject with at least 60% marks. (3) A minimum experience of having held a responsible administrative position for a period of not less than seven years is essential.

For Ph.D.:

A candidate seeking admission to the course of study leading to the award of a Degree of Doctor of Philosophy must possess at least one of the following qualifications of a recognized University/Institutes:

(1) A degree of Master of Sciences or Master's degree in any subject allied to Bio Medical Sciences or Master's Degree in Nursing with at least 60% marks or Master of Surgery or Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree or Diplomate of the National Board of Examinations.

(2) MBBS degree with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in the professional examinations.

For MD / MS/ MDS:

a) A candidate must possess MBBS degree for MD/MS and BDS degree for MDS courses of a University recognized by the Medical Council of India/Dental Council of Indian and must have completed the required period of 12 months compulsory rotating internship/Practical training on or before 30th January, 2011. The candidate who complete their internship after 30th January 2011 are not eligible to take up this examination.

b) The candidate must have obtained a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate in all the MBBS/BDS professional examinations for other category including OBC category and 50% for candidate belonging to SCs/STs

All India Institute of Medical Sciences





Applications are invited in the prescribed form for admission to MBBS Course commencing on 1st August. 2010.

Eligibility: (i) Candidates who have passed 12th class examination under 10+2 system or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English securing a minimum of 60% malts [50% in case of scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribes candidates] aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English or whose results of CIass-XII are likely to be declared by 7th July, 2010 are eligible to apply.

(ii) The candidate should have attained the age of 17 [seventeen] years as on 31st December. 2010.

Application procedure: The Prospectus-cum-Application Form costing Rs. 1000/- [Rs. 800/- In case of SC/ST candidates] inclusive of examination fees can be obtained in the following manner:

A candidate can submit application either On-Line through internet OR OFF LINE through prescribed Application form:

A) ON-LINE : For on-line submission of application visit www.aiimsexams.org and carefully follow the instructions given therein , candidate can pay the application fee through a credit card / debit card or through challan of State Bank of India. Transaction Processing following rates will he payable to the Bank (Only for On-line Applications)

1. Amex Credit Card, Diners Credit Card: 4%o of the Transaction amount

2. Visa & MasterCard, Credit /Debit Cards and Net Banking: 2.5% of Transaction amount

3. On Cash through challan at any Branch of State Bank of India: Rs. 25/- (or as applicable)

B) Off-line : The Prospectus-cum-Application Form can also be obtained by Speed Post / Registered Post by sending a written request with an account payee Bank Draft of Rs.1000/- (Rs.850/- for SC/ST candidates) in favour of 'Account Officer (Exams), AIIMS payable at New Delhi. The Bank Draft should be valid upto July/ August 2010.

The name of the course applied for must be written on reverse of Demand Draft along with candidates name. The request must reach the Assistant Controller of Examinations, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Ansari Nagar. New Delhi- 110608 on or before 15.03.2010.

Money Order / Cheque / Postal Order / Cash or any other form of payment will NOT be accepted for postal sale. The words "REQUEST FORAPPLICATION FORM FOR MBBS ENTRANCE EXAMINATION 2010" should be written on the envelope containing request for application form, and also on top of the request letter. The address of which Application Form is required should be written clearly in CAPITAL LETTERS with PIN code.
