BIT Mesra Admission PG Programmes 2012

 The Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra, Ranchi is autonomous university and research institution approved to conduct technical programs and award degrees by different governing bodies like UGC, AICTE, NAAC
Etc. BIT Mesra offers both under graduate and post graduate engineering and technology degree programs and conducts research work, besides university also offers courses like MBA etc.BIT Mesra has main campus at Mesra, Ranchi and distance campuses in India at Jaipur, Patna, Deoghar, Kolkata, Lalpur, Noida, Allahabad. This notification is about BIT Mesra Admission PG Programmes 2012.

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to the following postgraduate programmes of the Institute for the session 2012-13:

Notes:

1. Download and print the application form on our website. Send completed application form with all required enclosures (see Sec 7), in a stout A4 size envelope by appropriate means well in advance of the due date (preferably by means of which e-tracking is possible). Applications reaching us after the due date are liable to be rejected / may not be processed.

2. Please use separate application form(s) to apply for two or more programmes.

All candidates in their own interest should keep photocopies of their completed forms for their own reference.

Selection Procedure BIT Mesra Admission PG Programs 2012



(A) Selection Procedures for the M.E. / M.Tech programmes:

GATE qualified candidates: Provisional selections to the M.E. / M.Tech / MUP programmes will be on the basis of scores obtained in GATE 2012, previous academic record, and/or written test (wherever applicable) and personal interviews, provided that the candidates fulfill the eligibility criteria mentioned in the preceding pages / our advertisement / notification(s) on our website.

Non-GATE candidates:

1). Candidates who have not appeared or not qualified in GATE 2012 may also apply to the
M.E. / M.Tech / MUP programmes where GATE is mentioned as part of the eligibility criteria. However, their applications will be considered only after applicants who have qualified in GATE 2012 have been considered and interviewed.  Further, some fellowship may be given to few Non-GATE candidates selected for M.E. / M.Tech programmes from the TEQIP, based on their merit in the Test conducted by the Institute.

2). Candidates who have not appeared or not qualified in GATE 2012 may apply for the
M.E. / M.Tech programmes marked with ** (Section 5). However, some fellowship may be given to few Non-GATE candidates selected for M.E. / M.Tech programmes from the TEQIP, based on their merit in the Test conducted by the Institute. Provisional selections to these programmes will be on the basis of previous academic record, written test and /or personal interviews, provided that the candidates fulfill the eligibility criteria mentioned in the preceding pages / our advertisement / notification(s) on our website.

(B) Selection Procedures for the MUP programme:


GATE qualified candidates: Provisional selection to the MUP programme will be on the basis of scores obtained in GATE 2012, previous academic record, and/or written test (wherever applicable) and personal interviews, provided that the candidates fulfill the eligibility criteria mentioned in the preceding pages / our advertisement / notification(s) on our website.

Non-GATE candidates: Candidates who have not appeared or not qualified in GATE 2012 may also apply to the MUP programme. However, their applications will be considered only after applicants who have qualified in GATE 2012 have been considered and interviewed.  Further, there will be no scholarships for these candidates.

(C) Selection Procedures for the M.Pharm, M.S., PG Diploma programmes:


Provisional selections to the M. Pharm programme in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacognosy, Pharmacology and Clinical Research will be on the basis of scores obtained in GPAT 2012, and previous academic record, and counselling provided that the candidates fulfill the eligibility criteria mentioned in the preceding pages / our advertisement / notification(s) on our website.

Provisional selections to the M. Pharm programme in Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs will be on the basis of previous academic record, written test and/or personal interviews, provided that the candidates fulfill the eligibility criteria mentioned in the preceding pages / our advertisement / notification(s) on our website. There will be no scholarships for students of these programmes. Syllabus of the test will be same as for GPAT 2012.

Provisional selections to the M.S. Clinical Research & Pharmacovigilance and Postgraduate Diploma in (a) Bioanalytical Techniques, (b) Pharmacovigilance (c) Clinical Research (d) Clinical Data Management programmes will be on the basis of previous academic record, written test and/or personal interviews, provided that the candidates fulfill the eligibility criteria mentioned in the preceding pages / our advertisement / notification(s) on our website. There will be no scholarships for students of these programmes. Syllabus of the test will be same as for GPAT 2012.

(D) Selection Procedures for the M.Sc. programmes:


Provisional selections to the M.Sc. programmes will be on the basis of previous academic record and counselling for shortlisted candidates at Kolkata, Lalpur and Mesra provided that the candidates fulfill the eligibility criteria mentioned in the preceding pages / our advertisement / notification(s) on our website. GATE will not be a pre-requisite for these programmes. Further, there will be no scholarships for students of these programmes.

(E) Selection Procedures for the Integrated M.Tech-Ph.D. programme:


GATE qualified candidates: Provisional selection to the Integrated M.Tech-Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sc. & Engineering programme will be on the basis of scores obtained in GATE 2012, previous academic record, and/or written test (wherever applicable) and personal interviews, provided that the candidates fulfill the eligibility criteria mentioned in the preceding pages / our advertisement / notification(s) on our website. Scholarships will be made available to five GATE qualified candidates from budget allocated in CEC based on their GATE Score.

Non-GATE candidates: Candidates who have not appeared or not qualified in GATE 2012 may apply for the programme. However, there will be no scholarships for these candidates. Provisional selections to these programmes will be on the basis of previous academic record, written test and /or personal interviews, provided that the candidates fulfill the eligibility criteria mentioned in the preceding pages / our advertisement / notification(s) on our website.

Candidates admitted in M.E. / M.Pharm / M.Tech / MUP with valid GATE / GPAT score will be considered to receive scholarships only if approved and amount released by AICTE or any other funding agency (see also footnotes in Section 5).

Expected Dates of tests / interviews / counselling for all BIT Mesra PG Admission 2012


Interview / counselling schedules and details of tests (wherever applicable) for the above programmes will be announced by second week of June 2012, only on our website and Notice Boards of the Institute and our Extension Centres. Candidates must occasionally visit our website for updates and any other matter related to the admission procedures. No individual intimations will be sent to candidates.

The written tests (wherever applicable) and interviews / counselling of eligible candidates will be held tentatively in the last week of June 2012 / first week of July 2012 at Mesra, [except for M.Sc. Bio-Informatics for which counselling will be held at both Mesra & Kolkata, based on candidate’s first choice of Place for Study, and for M.Sc. Information Technology for which counselling will be held at Lalpur only].

Provisional selection lists, along with procedures for admissions, will be notified the day after the interviews / counselling, on the Institute website and Notice Boards of the Institute / concerned Extension Centres only. No separate intimations will be sent to candidates. Provisionally selected candidates will be required to take admission by the date given, failing which vacant seats may be allotted to waitlisted candidates. The list of waitlisted candidates will also be announced on our website and Institute Notice Boards only. No separate intimations will be sent to candidates.

COMBINED GRADUATE LEVEL EXAMINATION, 2012 Notification regarding submission of application form and examination schedule.


Important Dates - SSC COMBINED GRADUATE LEVEL EXAMINATION, 2012

Staff Selection Commission SSC will be holding Combined  Graduate Level Examination,2012 for recruitment to different posts for which Graduation from a recognized University is the minimum Educational Qualification. The Examination will comprise   of  two Tiers of Written Objective Type  examination followed  by  Computer Proficiency Test/  Interview/Skill test,  wherever applicable as per the Scheme  of Examination.    Posts have been placed in two groups, inter-alia, based on their Grade Pay and papers in Tier II examination/Interview. Preference  for Posts, is  to be indicated in the application. Candidates are requested to note that preference for Posts once exercised will be final. Request for change of preference will not be considered under any circumstance. For the post of  Assistant in CSS, candidate shall have not more than  three attempts unless covered by any of the exceptions notified by Government of India.

Examination FEE: RUPEES ONE HUNDRED ONLY(Rs 100) Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Physically Handicapped, and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation are exempted from paying application fee as per extant Government orders.

CLOSING DATE:  20.04.2012. For candidates residing  in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Jammu and Kashmir, Lahaul and Spiti District and Pangi Sub Division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and for candidates residing abroad – 27.04.2012. APPLICATIONS RECEIVED LATE WILL BE REJECTED and no correspondence will be  entertained in this regard. COMMISSION WILL NOT BE RESPOSIBLE FOR POSTAL DELAY

How to Apply

Only one application, either a paper application or online application is to be submitted by the candidates to the concerned Regional/Sub-Regional office of the Commission keeping in view the Centre of examination chosen by him/her.  IN CASE ANY CANDIDATE SUBMITS MORE THAN ONE APPLICATION

CANDIDATES  MAY SUBMIT ON LINE  APPLICATIONS AT  http://ssconline.nic.in. or http://www.sscregistration.sifyitest.com THEY SHOULD  RETAIN REGISTRATION NUMBER ASSIGNED TO THEM ON LINE FOR  CORRESPONDENCE  WITH THE COMMISSION. THEY ARE  NOT REQUIRED TO SUBMIT PRINT OUTS OF THEIR
APPLICATION TO THE COMMISSION. THE FACILITY OF ON-LINE APPLICATION WILL BE AVAILABLE UPTO 17.04.2012 (5:00 PM) FOR PART-I REGISTRATION AND FOR  PART-II  REGISTRATION UPTO 20.04.2012 (5.00 P.M.).

Educational Qualification

i) Compiler :  Bachelor‟s Degree with Economics or Statistics or Mathematics as compulsory or Elective subject from any recognized University.
ii) Statistical Investigator Grade – II Bachelor's  Degree with Statistics as  one of the main subjects.
OR
Bachelor's Degree with Mathematics( with Statistics as a papers studied  in one year/two years/all three years as the case may be) as one of the main subjects.
OR
Bachelor's  Degree with Economics ( with Statistics as a paper studied in one year/two years/all the three years as the case may be) as one of the main subjects.
OR
Bachelor's Degree with Commerce (with Statistics as a paper studied in one year/two years/all the three years as the case may be) as  one of the main  subjects.

iii) All other Posts:   Bachelor's Degree (Graduation Degree) from a recognized University or equivalent.

Important Note Regarding Educational Qualification
For posts of Assistants(CSS), computer proficiency has also been prescribed as an Essential Qualification.
 
As per Ministry  of Human Resource Development  Notification No. 44 dated 01.03.1995  published in Gazette of India  edition dated 08.04.1995, the Degree obtained through open Universities/Distance Education Mode needs to be recognized by Distance Education Council, IGNOU. Accordingly, unless such Degrees had been recognized  for
the period when the candidates    acquired the relevant qualification, they will not be accepted for the purpose of Educational Qualification.

SCHEME  OF THE EXAMINATION FOR  COMBINED GRADUATE LEVEL EXAMINATION
The Examination will be conducted in three tiers as indicated below:
Tier -I    -- Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)
Tier -II     --         Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)
Tier -III     -- Personality Test /Interview/Computer Proficiency Test  or  Skill Test  (wherever applicable).

PERSONALITY TEST/INTERVIEW

For posts for which Interview cum Personality Test is prescribed, the Personality Test/ interview  will
carry a maximum of 100 marks.
