How to apply for Distance Learning Course Admission 2014 of Jamia Millia Islamia New Delhi?

Interested students should submit their duly filled in application form either in person or by Speed Post/ Registered Post / Courier in ‘The Office of the Hony. Director, Centre for Distance and Open Learning, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi – 110025’/ concerned study centre so as to reach the concerned office on or before the prescribed last date for submission.

Candidates wishing to apply for admission to any of the Distance Mode Programs of Jamia Millia Islamia can download application forms from JMI website http://jmi.ac.in. The downloaded application form with “JMI-WADF-2014” inscripted on it will be only accepted. Downloaded application form has to be submitted along with the prescribed fee.

Application form can also be obtained from the Study/ Program Centre or from the Maktaba Jamia Ltd., Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi  on cash payment of the prescribed amount or by post by sending a crossed DD of the required amount  drawn in favour of “Jamia Millia Islamia” payable at “New Delhi” to ‘The Hony. Director,  Centre for Distance and Open Learning, Jamia Millia Islamia, Arjun Singh Block, Maulana Mohammed Ali Jauhar Marg, New Delhi – 110025’ clearly indicating the name of the program for which the Application Form is required along with a self-addressed envelope with postage stamps worth Rs.150 affixed on it.

The duly filled in application forms should be submitted along with fee DD/ PO drawn in favour of ‘Jamia Millia Islamia’, payable at ‘New Delhi’. The DD/ IPO should be of the amount:

Rs.500 for B.Ed./ DPGE/DEE programs (Programs with Entrance Test)

Rs.300 for all others Programs (Non-Test Programs)

The candidate must write their name and number of application form at the reverse of the DD/ Pay Order.

Candidates should regularly visit the University website http://jmi.ac.in for updates.

If selected for admission, candidate will have to produce all documents in original as well as self attested copies of the same at the time of completing the admission formalities. The original certificates will be returned after verification.

The program fee is to be paid, at the time of admission verification after the display of merit list, through a DD/ Pay Order in favour of ‘Jamia Millia Islamia’, payable at ‘New Delhi’.

Educational Qualification: The candidate should have passed Senior School Certificate Examination OR Indian School Certificate Examination (10+2) 12 year course or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto with atleast 50% marks (45% for SC / ST / OBC  Non- Creamy Layer / CWWAPP) and for a candidate with locomotory disability of lower limbs (PH) are required in the aggregate of four subjects including English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology provided the candidate has passed each subject separately.

Staff Selection Commission SSC will be holding Combined  Graduate Level Examination,2012 for recruitment to different posts for which Graduation from a recognized University is the minimum Educational Qualification. The Examination will comprise   of  two Tiers of Written Objective Type  examination followed  by  Computer Proficiency Test/  Interview/Skill test,  wherever applicable as per the Scheme  of Examination.    Posts have been placed in two groups, inter-alia, based on their Grade Pay and papers in Tier II examination/Interview. Preference  for Posts, is  to be indicated in the application. Candidates are requested to note that preference for Posts once exercised will be final. Request for change of preference will not be considered under any circumstance. For the post of  Assistant in CSS, candidate shall have not more than  three attempts unless covered by any of the exceptions notified by Government of India.

Bachelor's Degree with Commerce (with Statistics as a paper studied in one year/two years/all the three years as the case may be) as  one of the main  subjects.

Important Note Regarding Educational Qualification
For posts of Assistants(CSS), computer proficiency has also been prescribed as an Essential Qualification.
 
As per Ministry  of Human Resource Development  Notification No. 44 dated 01.03.1995  published in Gazette of India  edition dated 08.04.1995, the Degree obtained through open Universities/Distance Education Mode needs to be recognized by Distance Education Council, IGNOU. Accordingly, unless such Degrees had been recognized  for
the period when the candidates    acquired the relevant qualification, they will not be accepted for the purpose of Educational Qualification.

SCHEME  OF THE EXAMINATION FOR  COMBINED GRADUATE LEVEL EXAMINATION
The Examination will be conducted in three tiers as indicated below:
Tier -I    -- Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)
Tier -II     --         Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)
Tier -III     -- Personality Test /Interview/Computer Proficiency Test  or  Skill Test  (wherever applicable).

PERSONALITY TEST/INTERVIEW

For posts for which Interview cum Personality Test is prescribed, the Personality Test/ interview  will
carry a maximum of 100 marks.

NEW DELHI: Jamia Millia Islamia shall begin admission process for distance learning programs from June 1. The university is offers 20 programs through distance learning. The prospectus for distance learning courses can be obtained on all working days from Jamia Millia Islamia New Delhi.

In under graduate category Jamia Millia Islamia offers both regular and professional courses. Some of the popular courses are B.Ed, bachelor of business studies, bachelor of international business & finance, BA and B.Com. The JMI also offers 9 postgraduate programs, MA in Hindi, sociology, public administration, English, history, political science and M Com, among others.

Admission to Ph.D. Programmes - (2009-2010)

Applications in the prescribed forms are invited for admission to Ph.D. programmes in the various disciplines of Agricultural Sciences.

Eligibility: Candidates must have obtained at least 60% marks OR an overall grade point average (OGPA) of 7.50 out of 10.00 OR 3.75 out of 5.00 OR 3.00 out of 4.00 OR 2.25 out of 3.00 (For SC/ST/PH candidates: 55% marks OR OGPA of 6.88 out of 10.00 OR 3.44 out of 5.00 OR 2.75 out of 4.00 OR 2.06 out of 3.00) in Masters Degree Programme.

In case of the universities where OGPA is awarded with equivalence of percentage marks only OGPA will be considered for determining the eligibility qualification for appearing in the entrance examination. The percentage of marks shall be considered only for those candidates coming from universities that do not award grades but award percentage of marks.

The candidates who have appeared in the Masters degree examination in the year 2009 are also eligible to apply provisionally for admission.
