Online Test and Admission Procedure

1. Online Tests will be conducted in specified online test centres at specified dates and timings.

2. Online test centres will operate only if sufficient number of candidates opt for that centre.

3. As far as possible we will try to accommodate your the preferences. However the allotment of Date and Centre for Online Test is vested with the Centre for Distance Education, Anna University Chennai and is final.

4. The results of the Online entrance test will be announced on the same day as the test.

5. Candidates are required to bring Original Certificates (SSLC, HSC, Diploma and Degree Certificate) along with one set of Xerox copies when they come for Online Entrance Test for scrutiny and provisional selection.

6. The relevant xerox copies of certificates of selected candidates will be scrutinized by the Centre for Distance Education and the list of eligible and provisionally admitted candidates will be announced on the web by the Centre for Distance Education.
7. The actual admission process and payment of fees will take place at the online test centres subsequently.

8. However the candidate can came directly to the Centre for Distance Education for admission and fee remittance.

1. Study Centres will operate in selected sale/online test centres where there are sufficient number of candidates. The present list of study centres is available at our web site "annauniv.edu/cde".

2. Candidates should send only one application irrespective of the number of programmes for which he/she would like to appear for Online Entrance Tests.

4. Candidates will be required to produce copy of the relevant provisional / degree certificate at the time of admission by August 2008.

5. Limited number of previous question paper booklets are available for sale through a D.D far Rs.25/- per booklet at Centre for Distance Education, Anna University, Chennai - 600 025 Those candidates who need the Q.P. booklet by post should send DD for an amount of Rs 75/- for every question paper booklet.

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC)

Central Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination, 2008

The Union Public Service Commission will hold an Examination on 05th October, 2008 for recruitment of Assistant Commandants (Group A) in Central Police Forces (CPF) viz. Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). The examination will be held at various centres across the country.

Salient features of the examination are published herein for general information of candidates. For details regarding eligibility conditions, the syllabus and scheme of the examination, centres of examination, guidelines for filling up application form etc. aspirants must consult the Detailed Notice of the examination published in the Employment News/Rozgar Samachar dated 10th May, 2008.

2. CONDITIONS OF ELIGIBILITY :

(a) Age Limits:

Candidates must have attained the age of 20 years and must not have attained the age of 25 years as on 1st August, 2008.

The upper age limit is relaxable for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/ Other Backward Classes and certain other categories of candidates to the extent specified in the Notice.

(b) Educational Qualifications:

Degree of a recognised University or an equivalent qualification.

(c) Sex :

Both Male and Female candidates are eligible for appointment to CRPF and CISF. However, only Male candidates are eligible for appointment to BSF, ITBP and SSB.

(d) Physical and Medical Standards :

Candidates must meet the physical and medical standards specified in Appendix VI of the Notice published in the Employment News dated 10.05.2008.

(e) NCC `B` or`C Certificate Holders:

Possession of NCC `B` or `C Certificate will be a desirable qualification. The desirable qualifications will be given consideration at the time of Interview/ Personality Test only.

3. SELECTION PROCEDURE :

Selections will be made on the basis of a Written Examination to be conducted by the UPSC followed by the Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests to be conducted under the supervision of a Nodal Authority to be appointed by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Personality Test/Interview to be conducted by UPSC.

4. APPLICATION FORM :

The candidates must apply in the Common Application Form devised by the Commission for its examinations which can be purchased from the designated Head Post Offices/Post Offices (specified in Appendix-lll of the Notice published in the Employment News dated 10.05.2008) throughout the country against cash payment of Rs. 20/- (Rupees Twenty only). Each such Form can be used only once and only for one examination. In case of any difficulty in obtaining Application Forms from the designated HPOs/POs, the candidates should immediately contact the concerned Post Master or UPSC`s "FORMS SUPPLY MONITORING CELL" over Telephone No.011-23389366/Fax No.011-23387310.

5. EXAMINATION FEE :

The Examination Fee will be Rs.100/- (Rupees One Hundred only) to be paid through Central Recruitment Fee Stamp only. SC/ST candidates are exempted from payment of Fee. (OBC candidates are required to pay full fee).

6. ADDRESS AND LAST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS :

All applications must reach the "Secretary, Union Public Service Commission, Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi- 110 069" either by hand or by Post/Speed Post or by Courier, on or before the 9th June, 2008.

However, in respect of candidates residing abroad or in certain remote areas specified in the Notice published in the Employment News dated 10-05-2008, the last date for receipt of applications by Post/Speed Post only (not by Hand or by Courier) is 16th June, 2008.

The candidates can also register through internet by logging on to www.annuniv.edu/tnea2008 . After entering the required information in the application form, press the submit button, then take a printout, affix a photograph and affix the signature at the appropriate spaces provided. The printout application along with the registration fee in the form of a D.D. only
(SC/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu have to enclose an attested xerox copy of Community Certificate also) should be sent along with all the enclosures by speed / registered post to the address given below.

4. Special Reservations
Candidates seeking admission under Special reservation category should enclose separate special reservation application along with main application together with DD for Rs.100/- for each special reservations with an attested xerox copies of relevant document.
