Full Time Two Years Post Graduate Programme in Agribusiness Management (PGDABM) – 2008 – 10



Eligibility: 75% of the seats are reserved for students with Bachelors degree in agriculture and allied subjects, including life sciences; such as agriculture, veterinary, agricultural engineering, food technology / science, animal husbandry, diary technology / science, horticulture, fisheries, forestry, botany, biology, environmental and related sciences, having minimum 55% marks. Remaining 25% of the seats will be filed up by graduates of general disciplines like arts, commerce, science and engineering from any recognized university with minimum 50% marks. But, such students, including pure sciences graduates will have to study one foundation course on agriculture and rural economy in the first semester.

1. Applications on the prescribed form are invited for AICTE approved FULL TIME M.TECH COURSES in Comp. Engg., Mech. Engg. (Manufacturing & Automation Tech.) and Elect. Engg. (Power System & Drives) for 18 Seats each (Gen=10, Sponsored=5, SC/ST=3)

2. Applications are also invited for Ph.D PROGRAMME in Comp. Engg., Mechanical Engg. & Electrical / Electronics Engg. with 2 seats each.

Eligibility: Computer Engg. (M.Tech.):
a) First preference will be given to candidates having B.Tech./ BE in Computer Engg./ Computer Sc. & Engg./Computer Technology/ Information Technology or equivalent/ MCA with minimum 55% marks in qualifying degree exam. Or CGPA of 6.25 on 10 point scale and valid GATE Score in Computer Engg. However, in the case of SC/ST candidates, 50% marks in qualifying exam. Or CGPA of 5.75 on 10 point scale is required.

b) Second preference will be given to B.Tech./ BE in Electronics Engg./Elect.Engg. M.Sc. Computer/ M.Sc. Electronics, M.Sc. IT/ M.Sc. Software with minimum %age of marks as mentioned at (a) above and valid GATE Score in Computer Engg.

(c ) Third preference will to to B.Tech./BE in Electronics Engg., Elect. Engg./ M.Sc. Computer/ M.Sc. Electronics, M.Sc.IT/ M.Sc. Software, M.Sc. Maths, M.Sc. Statistics and M.Sc. Physics with minimum %age of marks as mentioned at (a) above and valid GATE Score in respective branches.

(d) Fourth preference will go to B.Tech./ BE in Computer Engg./Computer Sc. & Engg./Computer Technology/ Information Technology/ MCA/ Electronics Engg./ Electrical Engg./ M.Sc. Computer, M.Sc. Electronics, M.Sc. IT/ M.Sc. Software/ M.Sc. Maths, M.Sc. Statistics and M.Sc. Physics with minimum %age of marks as mentioned at (a) above but without GATE Score.

Mechanical Engineering (M.Tech.):

a) First preference will be given to B.Tech./ BE in Mech. Engg./ Production Engg./Automobile Engg. or equivalent with minimum 55% marks in qualifying degree exam. Or CGPA of 6.25 on 10 point scale with valid GATE Score. However, in the case of SC/ST candidates, 50% marks in qualifying exam. Or CGPA of 5.75 on 10 point scale with valid GATE Score is required.

b) Second preference will be given to B.Tech./BE in above disciplines with minimum %age of marks in qualifying exam as mentioned at (a) above, without GATE Score.

Electrical Engineering (M.Tech):

a) First preference will be given to B.Tech./ BE in Electrical/ Electronics Engg or equivalent with minimum 55% marks in qualifying degree exam. Or CGPA of 6.25 on 10 point scale and valid GATE Score . However, in the case of SC/ST candidates, 50% marks in qualifying exam. Or CGPA of 5.75 on 10 point scale with valid GATE Score is required.

b) Second preference will be given to B.Tech./BE in Electrical/Electronics Engg. with minimum percentage of marks in qualifying degree exam. As mentioned at (a) above, without GATE Score.

Note: For sponsored candidates, the minimum percentage of marks in the qualifying degree examination is 55% or CGPA of 6.25 on 10 point scale (50% marks or CGPA of 5.75 on 10 point scale in case of SC/ST candidates).
The sponsored candidates should possess minimum 2 years experience in the organization/ organization(s) of the types specified on the last date of receipt of application out of which at least one year continuous experience should be as regular employee in the sponsoring organization.

For Ph.D. :
Computer Engg.: M.Tech. in Computer Engg./ Computer Science/ information Technology with minimum 70% marks in qualifying exam. Or 7.75 CGPA on 10 point scale.

Mechanical Engg: M.Tech. in Mechanical/ Production Engg. with minimum 70% marks in qualifying exam. Or 7.75 CGPA on 10 point scale.

Electrical Engineering: M.Tech. in Electrical/ Electronics Engg./ Electronics & Communication with minimum 70% marks in qualifying exam. Or 7.75 CGPA on 10 point scale.

Application procedure: Detailed eligibility conditions for admission to above Post Graduate / Ph.D Courses are given in the prospectus for 2008-09 and the same would be available from 14.7.2008 in Institute against cash payment of Rs.1000/- and by post against Bank Draft for Rs.1050/- in favour of Director/ Principal of the Institute payable at Faridabad.

SC/ST/BC/ Muslim Minority candidates are exempted from paying tuition fee if their parental income from all sources is less than Rs.1,00,000/- per annum. In addition to the Income Certificate, candidates have to submit the salary certificate of their parents who are employed. Fee shall be remitted in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of Convener, ICET-2008 Admissions payable at Hyderabad or in cash at the bank counters available in all venues. Fee shall be paid in full at the time of counseling and no part payment will be accepted.
Candidates are informed that they should satisfy the admission rules prescribed by the respective universities and should be prepared to pay the Tuition Fee as applicable.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR CANDIDATES
1. CAT ‘All means OC/BCA/BCB/BCC/BCD/BCE/SC/ST categories to consider them under OPEN as well as category seats under G.O.Ms.550.
2. The allotted candidates need not come for counseling in subsequent phases as they can give option for sliding upto notified date on Web from any place or notified helpline centers situated in each district. Each candidate will be issued password on scratch card with provisional allotment for giving options on Web / Helpline centers.
3. Candidates are required to bring their e-mail address for receiving final allotment letter on internet.
4. OPEN category and cast reservations category as per G.O.Ms.550 allotment will be on the same day. The caste reservation category student can take admission under OPEN category followed by reservation category on the same day.
5. This notification itself is a call for counseling. No separate call letters are sent to the individual candidates. Candidates may have to stay a day extra if necessary.
