Jammu & Kashmir Migrant Candidates seeking admission to First Year of Post HSC Diploma Courses in Engineering / Technology for the academic year 2008-2009
Applications are invited from all eligible Jammu & Kashmir Migrant Candidates for admission to following Post HSC Diploma courses in Engineering/Technology in Government, Government Aided Polytechnics /institutes in the State of Maharashtra.
Eligibility for Admission :-
Diploma Course in Surface Coating Technology (one seat):
For admission to the first year or semester of Diploma Course in Surface Coating Technology, the candidate should have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate (Std. XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and secured minimum 50% marks i.e. 150 marks out of 300 marks in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics added together
Diploma course in Rubber Technology* (one seat)
For admission to the first year or semester of Diploma Course in Rubber Technology, the candidate should have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate (Std. XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. OR
The candidate should have passed Diploma Course in Electronics / Mechanical / Civil / Electrical / Chemical Engineering or Technology or its equivalent discipline from Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education or any Autonomous Polytechnic of Government of Maharashtra or any other examination declared by the said Board to be equivalent.

4. Last Date to submit Application for Grievances 10/8/2008 upto 5.00 p.m
5. Display of Final Merit List 11/8/2008 at 5.00 p.m
6. Admission by Counseling 12/08/2008 at 11.00 a.m.

Under Graduate Associateship in Physical and Biophysical Sciences
Appliations are invited from Indian Nationals for selection of Under Graduate Associates under the auspices of the Center for Advanced Research and Education (CARE) of SAHA Institute of Nuclear Physics (SNIP), Kolakata. Candidates from the first of second year science under graduate program (B.Sc. / Integrated M.Sc. in Physics / Chemistry / Biological Sciences) in 2008 who have secured 80% marks in Science and Mathematics and atleast 75% in aggregate in class 12th Board Examination are encouraged to apply. The final selection amongst the shortlisted candidates may involve an interview where the candidate needs to display resourcefulness, passion for scientific research as well as mastery of scientific concepts.
Selected Under Graduate Associates will be exposed to short term courses and laboratory training through projects under the guidance of assigned mentors for total period of about 60 - days. During this period they will receive a stipend (@ Rs150/- per day) alongwith a book grant of Rs. 6000/- per anum. A travel allowance will also be given for outstation Under Graduate Associates. The program is for the under graduate years. On successful completin of the program, associate will be issued a certificate. A few of the undergraduate associates may be selected as Graduate Associates of SNIP if they pursue Master's program in Basic sciences. On successful completion of the M.Sc. Course with first class or equivalet grades they may be considered forabsorption as Research Fellows of SNIP with the usual fellowship.
