Eligibility: Eligibility Criteria For All Programs (Except for Biology based admission to Biotechnology, Bioinformatics and B. Pharma-M. Pharma Practice programs)

Criteria of subjects in 10+2 exam:

The minimum academic qualification for admission to any one of the programs is as laid down by AIEEE*. The candidate should have a pass in the 10+2 or its equivalent** with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and any one of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science & English as optional subjects.

Date of Birth: Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1988 (Date of Birth as recorded in the High School/Secondary Education Board/University Certificate only will be taken as authentic) are eligible to apply for admission.

For Bio-Technology, Bio-Informatics and Pharmacy Programmes: Subjects in qualifying Exams (for students Biology at 10+2 level) Physics & Biology shall be the core subjects in 10+2 or equivalent examination*. Besides above the candidate can have any two out of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science, English and Maths as other subjects.

Application procedure: Register Online
(I) Log on to www.jiit.ac.in. Thereafter, candidate will be prompted to fill up the application(s) and make the necessary payment using the payment gateway. Candidates will be given an application ID and payment receipt shall be generated. Candidates should make note of application ID for future reference. A print out of the application and receipt should be taken, Xerox copy of same be made and photograph affixed on the application.(II) The candidate may also use the option of filling the online application form and sending the payment of Rs/- 800 through a Demand Draft ?in favour of “Jaypee Institute of Information Technology University” payable at Noida/Delhi.(III) In either of the options, the print out of application along with generated payment receipt/DD should be sent to the Registrar, JIIT,Noida.(IV) Please do not forget to write the application ID number behind the photograph and DD as applicable.(V) Please write “ONLINE REGISTRATION FORMS” on the envelope before posting.

(i)In such case the filled forms should be sent to Registrar, JIIT along with Demand Draft (DD) of Rs. 800/- in favour of “Jaypee Institute of Information Technology University” payable at Noida/Delhi. (ii)Please write “DOWNLOADED AIEEE BASED APPLICATION FORMS” on the envelope before posting.(iii) It is mandatory to write AIEEE-2009 Roll number before submission of application forms.(iv) Candidates are required to ensure that they submit the completed Application Forms to reach on or before the last date i.e 25th April 2009 . Applications received after the last date will not be accepted.

(i) Obtain the Forms from the Institutes by paying in cash/DD or by post from address given below by sending a Demand Draft of Rs. 800/- in favour of “Jaypee Institute of Information Technology University” payable at Noida/Delhi. (ii) The Application Form can also be purchased at nominated IDBI Bank branches. .(iii) It is mandatory to write AIEEE-2009 Roll number before submission of application forms. .(iv) Candidates are required to ensure that they submit the completed Application Forms to reach on or before the last date i.e 25th April 2009. Applications received after the last date will not be accepted.

The candidates who buys the brochure and application forms after payment are not required to make any further payment while submitting the application forms. However, candidates, who download the forms from the website need to send the copy of application forms along with a demand draft of Rs. 800/- in favour of “Jaypee Institute of Information Technology University” payable at Noida/Delhi.

Application Forms can also be obtained from above Centres by post by remitting D.D of Rs.1,600/- (including postal charges). (Also B.Tech/ B.E in Electrochemistry, Bioengineering and M.Sc. in Chemistry & Physics in case of Anna University; M.Sc in Marine Biotechnology, Marine Biology/ Aquatic Biology & Fisheries, Environmental Biotechnology in case of Cochin University of Science and Technology and M.Sc. in Bioengineering in case of West Bengal University of Technology).

IMPORTANT NOTE: (for candidates of all categories) Only those candidates who have passed the qualifying examinations in 2007 or thereafter (including those who are appearing in 2009) are eligible to apply. In other words, those who have passed the qualifying examination PRIOR TO 2007 are not eligible to apply for taking admission to any of the programme i.e., (1) M.Sc. By Post: Those willing to get the Application Form by post should send their request only to the Deputy Registrar (Admissions), Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi-110067, along with a Bank Draft (valid for six months) of Rs.260/-(for one set of Application Form and Prospectus). The Bank Draft should be drawn in favour of "Jawaharlal Nehru University" payable at New Delhi. The request should accompany a self-addressed unstamped envelope of the size of 28x20 cms. indicating clearly on the top of the self addressed envelope the programme for which Application Form is required, i.e., "M.Sc. Biotechnology" OR "M.Sc.(Agri.)/M.V.Sc. Biotechnology" OR "M.Tech. Biotechnology". Please do not send your request through private courier services.
