Eligibility: All those candidates who have passed/appeared (up to the Academic Session 2008-2009) in the 10+2 Examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi or its equivalent Examination Conducted by a recognized Board/ University/ Council shall be eligible to appear in the Common Entrance Test - 2009. The admission of candidates for the Common Entrance Test shall be provisional. It shall stand cancelled, if they fail to satisfy the requisite eligibility conditions as required by the concerned institution(s)/ University by the date fixed for the purpose.

SPECIAL NOTE:

The candidates who have passed/appeared in 10+2 Examinations of Mahila Gram Vidyapith, Allahabad are ineligible to appear in the Common Entrance Test, as this institution has been derecognized by Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Age: A candidate who has attained the age of 17 years on or before December 31, 2009
Application procedure: The Prospectus and Application Form for the Test is available for sale w.e.f. 13.3.2009 (Friday) by hand as well as by post.

Indian Institute of Science invites applications for the IISc. Summer Fellowship in Science and Engineering for SC/ST Students - 2009

Eligibility:
Students studying I year M.Sc in science disciplines (Biological Sciences/Physics, Chemistry/ Mathematics) or III year B.E./B.Tech or equivalent degree, during the academic year 2008-09.

Selection Criteria:
IISc. will evolve a suitable criteria for selecting the candidates for the programme.

Financial Support:
IISc. will provide:
- Travelling allowance equivalent to II Class train fare from College/residence to IISc. and back.
- Free board and lodging (on shared basis) at IISc.
- Fellowship of Rs.5,000/- and a book grant of Rs.1500/-

Features of the Programme:
Selected candidates students will work with one of the IISc. Faculty members and learn various techniques used in research for a period of one month during May-June 2009.
