Established in 1961, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta has the distinction of being first IIM in India for Post Graduate Studies and Research in Management. The Government of initiated IIM Calcutta in collaboration with Alfred P. Sloan School of Management (MIT), the Government of West Bengal, The Ford Foundation and Indian industry. Noted personalities, the likes of Jagdish Seth and JK Sengupta along with many others formed made the faculty gamut in the beginning years. The instituted celebrated Golden Jubilee: the Curtain Raiser (November 14, 2010)
