Delhi Government Pre-Matric Scholarship for SC / ST OBC / Minorities Students of Class I-X

The Government of Delhi awards  Pre-Matric Scholarship for SC / ST OBC / Minorities Students of Class I-X to support education of Children and Teens belonging to financially weaker class communities. Following given Delhi Government Pre-Matric Scholarship 2014 Notification.

Scholarship Scheme for Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Parsi, Buddhist and Jain Community Students of Class I to Class X 

Applications are invited from Students of NCT of Delhi belonging to Minority Communities notified by the Central Government (Muslim, Sikh, Parsi, Christian, Buddhist and Jain) studying in Class 1 to Class 10 in Government / Added School / Institute / Private School recognized by approved authority for awarding Pre-Matric Scholarship by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India.

How to write application form Delhi Government Pre-Matric Scholarship?

Eligible Pre-Matric minority students studying in schools affiliated to Municipal Corporation of Delhi may submit Scholarship Application Forms to respective Head of School / Principal; The Head of the Institution / Principal may submit the consolidated proposal to Zone concerned.

Pre-Matric Students studying in NDMC Schools  may submit Scholarship Application Forms to respective Head of School / Principal; The Head of the Institution / Principal may submit the consolidated proposal to:
Deputy Education Officer (DEO) (General), Department of Education, 101 Floor, Palika Kendra, Sansad Marg, New Delhi.

Students studying in Government / Government Aided Schools affiliated to Dte. of Education may submit Scholarship Application Forms to Head / Principal of respective schools who in turn may submit the consolidated proposal in the prescribed proforma as well as Soft Copy to District concerned. The Dy. Director of the District may in turn submit the consolidated proposal to Dy. Director (Planning), Old Patrachar Building, Timarpur, New Delhi who is the Nodal Officer in the matter.

The students studying in Schools affiliated to Delhi Cantonment Board may submit application form to Head / Principal of Schools who in turn may submit the proposal to the Office of the Chief Executive Officer, Delhi Cantonment Board, Delhi – 110010

Students studying in Kendriya Vidyalayas may submit Scholarship Application form to Head / Principal of School who in turn may submit the Proposal in The Office Of The Assistant Commissioner, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Delhi Region, JNU Campus, New Delhi.

Candidates studying in Recognized Public Schools, National Open Schools (NOS) and Other Schools approved by the Government but not falling under any of the category as mentioned in above paragraphs may submit Application Forms to Head / Principal of School, who in turn shall submit the consolidated proposal to Deputy Director Scholarship, Department for Welfare of SC / ST / OBC / Minorities, B-Block, 2nd Floor, Vikas Bhavan, IP Estate, New Delhi – 110002

The objective of the scholarship to provide study support to minority community students whose families / parents / guardians are not financially well-off.

Conditions for Award of Delhi Government Pre-Matric Scholarship 2014 to SC / ST / OBC / Minorities Students studying in Class 1 to 10



  • Scholarship will be given to students of studying in Class I to X in Government / Government Aided / Recognized Private School / Institute.
  • Maintenance allowance will be credited to student’s personal Bank Account.
  • To be eligible, students should have scored at least 50% marks in previous year exams. In case of students of Class I, only Income criteria would be applicable.
  • A scholarship holder under the scheme will not avail of any other scholarship / stipend for pursuing the same course from any other agency.
  • The annual income of parents / guardians should not exceed Rs. 1 Lakh, Inter Selection weightage shall be given to poverty instead of marks.
  • 30% Scholarships are for Girls Students. In case of absence of girls students, scholarships will be awarded to boys students.
  • Scholarships will not be given to more than 2 students in a family.
  • Students selected for Scholarship 2009-10 / 2010-11 / 2011-12 / 2012-13 / and 2013-14 successfully advanced to next class may apply for Renewal Under this Scheme.
  • Bank details of students should be verified by concerned Bank / Branch

Scholarship Benefits


  • Admission Fee (Class 6 to 10): Rs. 500/- per annum subject to actual for both Day Scholar and Hosteller Category
  • Tuition Fee (Class 6 - 10)- Rs. 350 per month  subject to actual for both Day Scholar and Hosteller Category
  • Maintenance Allowance for a period of 10 Month maximum in an academic year:
  • Class 1 to 5: Hosteller (Nil); Day Scholar (Rs. 100 Per Month)
  • Class 6 to 10: Hosteller (Rs. 600/- Per Month, subject to actuals); Day Scholar (Rs. 100 Per Month)


Note: Hostelers include students who are not staying in Hostel in the School / Institute concerned or those provided by the State Government / Union Territory
