13th All India Competitive Examination for Admissions to Under-Graduate Programmes in Agriculture and allied Sciences other than Veterinary Science and award of National Talent Scholarships for the Academic Session 2008- 2009 (AIEEA–2008)

In the subjects of Agriculture, Horticulture, Agricultural Engineering, Dairy Technology, Biotechnology, Forestry, Food Science, Fisheries Sciences, Home Science, Sericulture, Agricultural Marketing Banking & Co-operation, and Commercial Agriculture & Business Management.

Eligibility: Age: 17-23 years as on December 31, 2008 (DOB include 1.1.1986 to 01.01.1992).

Educational Eligibility: The candidate must have passed and obtained not less than 50% marks (for admission under General, UPS and OBC categories), or 40% marks (for admissions under SC, ST and PH. Categories) in 10+2 examination. Any candidate having compartment/ supplementary in any subject in 10+2 examination is not eligible for admission. Candidates appearing for 10+2 examination can also apply but produce 10+2 pass certificate during Counseling. Pass in English in 10+2 examination is essential for admission in some of the Universities.

Application procedure: Sources of purchase of Information Bulletins with Application Forms:

On cash : Offices of the Registrars of 38 Universities and branches of the Syndicate Bank.

Through DD : Four ICAR Institutes : DD by post : Examination Cell, Education Division, ICAR, New Delhi–110012.

Availability of Information Bulletin with Application Form :

A. Through Universities : The Information Bulletins with Application Forms will be available for sale with effect from 21 January, 2008 to 07 March, 2008 against Cash Payment of Rs. 400/- + Rs. 25/- (handling charges) for General, OBC and UPS Categories and Rs. 200/- + Rs. 25/- (handling charges) for S.C., S.T. and P.H. categories from the Offices of the Registrars of Agricultural Universities located at

B. Through Bank Branches: From the branches of the Syndicate Bank, Information Bulletin and Application Forms can be obtained from 21 January, 2008 to 07 March, 2008 against Cash payment of Rs. 400/- + Rs. 25/- (Service Charges) for General, OBC and UPS Categories and Rs. 200/- + Rs. 25/- (Service Charges) for S.C., S.T. and P.H. categories.

C. Through Bank Draft : Information Bulletins with Application Forms will also be available through bank draft of Rs. 400.00 for General, OBC, UPS and Rs. 200.00 for SC, ST and PH candidates drawn in favour of DDG (Education), ICAR payable at New Delhi from the Offices of ICAR Institutes namely (1) Central Agricultural Research Institute, Port Blair (2) ICAR Research Complex for Goa, Ela, Old Goa (3) National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad and (4) National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal from 21 January, 2008 to 07 March, 2008

D. Through by Post : Candidates from remote places can obtain the Information Bulletin with Application Form by sending written request to the Controller of Exams, Education Division, ICAR, KAB-II, Pusa, New Delhi-110012 along with Bank Draft of Rs. 450/- (Rs.400/- + Rs. 50/- towards postal and handling charges) for General, OBC and UPS Categories and Rs. 250/- (200/- + 50/- towards postal and handling charges) for S.C., S.T. and P.H. Categories. The demand draft must be drawn in favour of DDG (Education), ICAR payable at New Delhi with a self addressed envelope (30x25 cm) without postage stamps. The candidate should write his/ her name and address on the back of the demand draft. No request for supply of Information Bulletin by post will be accepted after 04 March, 2008.

Last date of submission of Forms: 1. (Non-remote areas) : 10 March, 2008. 2. Remote areas : 17 March, 2008.

Last date of Issue of application form : 07 March 2008

Date of Entrance Test : All India Entrance Examination (AIEEA) : 19 April, 2008 (Saturday) 10.00 – 12.30 hours at 39 Centres).

Reservation : As per norms, 15% seats in all subjects will be reserved for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), 7.5% for Scheduled Tribes (ST), 3% for Physically Handicapped (PH), and 2% for candidates from Underprivileged States (UPS). Reservation for OBC if applicable in INDIAN COUNCIL OF AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH, (EDUCATION DIVISION ) Krishi Anusandhan Bhavan-II, Pusa, New Delhi – 110012 , four Central Universities (NDRI, CAU, BHU and Viswa Bharti) will be as per Government of India directives/ University rules.
