Post Graduate Diploma Programme in Rural Development Management (PGDRDM):2008

Eligibility: Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University. Students who are in the final year and expect to complete all the requirements of graduation before 15th June, 2008 may also apply.

Some seats are reserved for the in-service candidates with at least two years of work experience in rural development and allied sectors. In- service candidates are required to apply through their employers. They may however, send an advance application. The in-service candidates will be selected by a Selection Committee through a process of Group Discussion and Interview. They will not be required to appear for the entrance test.




Application procedure: The prospectus cum application form can be obtained from the Professor & Head, Centre for Post Graduate Studies (CPGS) on payment of application fee of Rs.1000/- (Rs.500/- for SC/ST and differently abled persons) by an “Account Payee” Demand Draft drawn in favour of NIRD, Hyderabad. It can also be downloaded from the NIRD website www.nird.org.in . The filled in application form should be submitted along with the application fee to the Professor & Head, Centre for Post Graduate Studies (CPGS), National Institute of Rural Development, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad-500 030 (A.P) so as to reach on or before 29th February, 2008.

The Entrance Test will be conducted on April 27, 2008 at the following centres

Agartala, Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dibrugarh, Gangtok, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Itanagar, Jaipur, Jammu, Kolkata, Kohima, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong and Thiruvananthapuram.

The NIRD reserves the right to cancel any of the centres if there are in-sufficient number of candidates in that centre and assign any other centre to the applicants.

Selection : All eligible candidates will have to appear for a written test comprising four sections: English comprehension, Quantitative Ability, Reasoning and Analytical Skills. Candidates selected on the basis of the written test will be invited for group discussion and personal interview at NIRD, Hyderabad. No TA / DA will be paid for any candidate for attending the test or group discussion and interview.
