109th Technical Graduates Course (Jul 2009) and 33rd Short Service Commission (Technical) Course (Oct 2009)

The Indian Army is looking for a few good men. For the best and the brightest amongst you. For men with intellect, idealism and courage. Men who can lead and inspire others.

Applications are invited from Engineering Graduate MALE Indian citizens including temporary Central/State Govt. servants, serving personnel of the regular Army and Territorial Army (including officers of Territorial Army) and serving personnel of Navy and Air Force for 109th Technical Graduates Course (commencing in Jul 2009) and 33rd Short Service Commission (Technical) Course (commencing in Oct 2009) as per following details and instructions:

1. TYPE OF ENTRY

(I) TGC: (a) Engineering Graduates : Eligible for induction into all Arms/ Services. b) Post Graduate (Non-Engg.) : Eligible for induction into the Army Education Corps (AEC). c) Military Farms : Eligible for induction into the Military farms

(II) SSC (Tech.):- Eligible for inducting into all Arms / Services.

2. VACANCIES :

(I) 109th TGC :
a) Engineers : 54 (Civil- 07, Electrical-05, Mechanical - 06, Computer Science -05, Telecomm - 06, Electronics - 06. IT-06, Architecture-02, Public Health Eng..-02, Construction Engg.-02. Industrial Engg & Management-04, Mining—03.

b) AEC : Post Graduates (Non-Engg) — Political Science/ History/GeographyChinese/ Burmese/ MCA/ M .Sc. (Physics)-4.

(c) Military Farms : Agriculture / Dairy – 02

(II) 33rd SSC (Tech) : a) Engineering Graduates : Total-49 (Civil-07, Electrical-04, Mechanical – 06, Computer Science-05, Telecom - 06, Electronics-06, IT-05, Architecture-02, Public Health Engg-02 , Construction Engg.-02, industrial Engg. & Mgt.-04. b) Military Farms: Agricultural / Dairy-01

NOTE : The number of vacancies given above is tentative and may be changed at any stage by Army Headquarters.

3. CONDITION Of ELIGIBILITY :

(a) Nationality: A candidate must either be : (i) A citizen of India, or (ii) A subject of Bhutan. or (iii) A subject of Nepal, or (iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or (v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

Certificate of eligibility will however, not be necessary in the case of candidates who are Gorkhas subject of Nepal.

(b) Minimum Educational Qualification:

(I) TGC (aa) For Technical Arms and Services (Engineers).: A degree in Engineering or equivalent degree from a recognized University in Civil /Electrical / Mechanical / Computer Science Telecom /Electronics /IT / Architecture / Public Health Engg / Construction Engg./ Industrial Engg & Management / Mining.

(ab) For Army Educatlon Corps: MCA or MA /M.Sc degree from a University recognized by AIU in 1st or 2nd division in the following subjects. (aa) Political Science (ab) History (ac) Geography (ad) Chinese (ae) Burmese (af) Physics.

(ac) For Military Farm; A degree in Dairying or a degree in Agriculture of recognized university with Dairying as one of the subjects or an equivalent foreign qualification in Agriculture. (Preference will be given to those who hold M.Sc. Degree or carried out research in Dairying or Fodder Crops (Al 105/61).

SSC (TECH) (a) Engineering Graduates: A degree in Engineering or equivalent degree from a recognized University in Civil / Electrical / Mechanical / Computer Science Telecom / Electronics / IT / Architecture / Public Health Engg / Construction Engg./ Industrial Engg & Management /

(b) For Military Farms : A degree in Dairying or a degree in Agriculture of a recognized university with dairying as one of the subjects or an equivalent foreign qualification in Agriculture. (Preference will be given to those who hold M.Sc. degree or have carried out research in Dairying or Fodder Crops) (Al 105/ 61).

Note: Recruiting Directorate reserves the right to shortlist applications and to fix cut off percentage without assigning any reason. No communication will be entertained on this account.

(c) Age Limit: (I) TGC (aa) For Engineering Graduates : 20 to 27 years. Born not earlier than 02 Jul 82 and not later than 01 Jul 89. (ab) For non-Engg Post Graduates (Army Education Corps) : 23 to 27 years. Born not earlier than 02 Jul 82 and not later than 01 Jul 86 (ac) Military Farms: Should be born not earlier than 02 Jul 82 and not later than 01 Jul 88.

(II) SSC (TECH): 20 to 27 years. Born not earlier than 02 Oct 82 and not later than 01 Oct 88. (ab) Military Farms : Should be born not earlier than 02 Oct 82 and not later than 01 Oct 88.





4. Method of Selection:

The Selection process to be followed is indicated below:

(a) Initial Screening and short listing of applicants will be done at Recruiting Directorate Army Headquarters and the decision of ADG Recruiting will be final. In this regard no representation will be entertained. Applications in respect of candidates applying for Military Farms category will be initially screened by Military Farms Directorate.

(b) Candidates whose applications are found in order shall be detailed to appear at the Service Selection Board on a specified date. List of such candidates along with nominated Selection Centres for SSB will be displayed on website http://indianarmy.gov.in . For further queries regarding receipt of call letters, reporting date, items/documents to be carried and ( for change of dates if any, candidates may call on the following Telephone nos of respective Selection Centres:— (a) Allahabad-0532-2422680 (b) Bhopal - 0755-2702223 (c) Bangalore-080-25006804. They will be required to undergo Group Test, Psychological Test and an interview for a duration of five days excluding the date of reporting at the Service Selection Centre.

(c) The candidates who qualify at the Service selection Board and are found medically tit by a Medical Board will be placed in order of merit. The final selection will be made in that order upto the number of vacancies available at the time.

(d) Two Stage Selection Procedure: Two stage selection procedure based on Psychological Aptitude Test has been introduced at selection centers. All the candidates will face stage one test on first day of reporting at Selection Centers. The candidates who qualify at stage one will be admitted to the second stage / remaining test and all those who fail to pass stage one, will be returned.

(e) Candidates applying for Military Farm category who qualify SSB interview will be required to be technically interviewed by Military Farm. The basis for the order of merit in respect of candidates for Military Farm will therefore be decided after they qualify at the SSB interview and also been cleared by the Deptt Screening Board.

(f) Those candidates who qualify stage II will submit the original certificate along with one photocopy each of (i) Matriculation Certificate showing date of birth (ii) Original Degree or Prov degree with all years/parts/semesters mark-sheets at Selection Centre.

(g) Medical Examination: All candidates recommended by the Service Selection Board will undergo medical examination by a board of Service medical officers. Only those candidates will be admitted to the Academy who are declared fit by the medical board. However the candidates declared unfit by the Special Medical Board (SMB), will be intimated by the President of medical Board and Procedure for request for Appeal Medical Board (AMB) will also be intimated to the candidate. Unfit candidate should report for AMB within maximum 42 days. Candidates are advised in their own interest to appear for AMB well in time and should not wait for last date given in the SMB. Candidates are advised to note that Rtg. Directorate has no role to play in Appeal Medical Board; the procedure advised by medical authorities is strictly to be adhered to. Candidates declared unfit by AMB will be intimated by the president AMB about procedure of challenging the findings of AMB on producing a medical certificate from civil authorities not below the status of CMO/Professor. The candidates will also be intimated that Review Medical Board (RMB) will be granted at the discretion of DGAFMS based on the merits of the case and that RMB is not a matter of right.

Candidates will only be considered medically fit on receipt of the approved medical board proceeding from Directorate General, Medical Services, in Add Dte Gen Rtg. To be passed fit, a candidate must be in good physical and mental health and free from any disability likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duty. In your own interest you are advised to undergo a preliminary medical check up for wax in ears, DNS, Hydrocele/Phimosis, Defective Colour Vision, Over Weight/Under Weight, Under Chest, Piles, Gynaecomastia, Tonsillitis or varicocele before reporting for the SSB interview.

5. HOW TO APPLY:

(a) Apply on fulscape paper (typed) as per format given in the advertisement only. Applicants can also use the Common Application Form down loaded from Indian Army websites http://www.indianarmy.gov.in . b) Only attach photocopies of the following documents or certificates along with the application which should be properly tagged and duly attested by Government Gazetted Officer (i) Matriculation Certificate issued by Board of Secondary Education or Central Board of Secondary Education as proof of date of birth (transfer certificate, affidavit etc. are not acceptable) (ii) Degree provisional certificate along with Mark-sheets of all the years / parts / semesters as proof of educational qualification (iii) one unstamped self addressed envelope to receive an interview call letter should also be enclosed with the application. (iv) Affix your photograph in the space provided in the application form and attested by a Govt. Gazetted Officer (v) NCC `C` Certificate Or National Certificate of Bravery/ Gallantry Award Or Certificate showing representing of the State in National Sports competition may also be attached, if any, held. c) Application incomplete in any respect and for with out any of the above mentioned documents (as indicated at Paras 5 (a), 5 (b)(i), 5(b)(ii) and 9(b)(iii) and / or not duly attested by a Govt Gezetted officer will be rejected summarily. (d) The provisional degree certificate in support of education qualification should clearly state that the student has passed the specified degree examination and is eligible for award of Degree. e) No original certificates will be enclosed with the application. f) The application should be sent in a white envelope SUPERSCRIBED IN RED INK on the top left corner indicating the first preference for entry and also the subject/discipline.
