Central Institute of Fisheries Education (ICAR) - Admission Notice

Central Institute of Fisheries Education is starting Certificate / Diploma courses under Professional Development Programme (PDP) from 2nd February 2009 in "Fisheries Enterprise Management" and "Fisheries Development Management".

The objectives of the programme are :

> To impart relevant applied technical know how for developing necessary skills in fisheries, aquaculture, fish processing and development management through first hand Held level experience.

> To development and sharpen up entrepreneurial capabilities, help in identifying business opportunities, evolve viable business plans and making them confident to execute them.

> To provide sectoral overview and precise understanding of field realities vis a vis various development interventions and developing competence to visualize, plan execute and manage development programs.

> To development adequate skills for effective presentation and communication, social mobilization and organizational development.

The duration of Diploma programme is one year whereas the certificate courses are of 12 weeks duration. Both the programmes will be conducted at Kolkata Centre at 30, GN Block, Sector V, Salt Lake City, Kolkata - 700 091 (West Bengal).



Anyone who is a graduate in any field with interest in fisheries and aquaculture will be eligible to apply. The aspiring candidates can apply on the proforma and send their application to Director, Central Institute of Fisheries Education (ICAR), Seven Bungalows, Versova, Mumbai - 400 061 latest by 25th January 2009.

The course fee for certificate course is Rs. 15,000/- and for Diploma programme is Rs. 40,000/-.
