Indian Forest Service Examination, 2009 for recruitment to the Indian Forest Service

Eligibility: (a) Age Limits :

Not less than 21 years and not more than 30 years on 1st July, 2009.
The upper age limit is relaxable for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes /Other Backward Classes and certain other categories of candidates to the extent specified in the Notice.

(b) Educational Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree of a recognized University with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering or an equivalent qualification.

(c) Physical Standards :

Candidates must be physically fit according to the Regulations given in Appendix-III of Rules for the Indian Forest Service Examination, 2009 published in the Gazette of India dated 14th February, 2009.

(d) Number of Attempts :

The maximum number of attempts permissible to different categories of aspirants, who are otherwise eligible, will be as follows :-

(i) General Category: Four
(ii) Other Backward Classes: Seven
(iii) Scheduled Caste(SC)/Scheduled Tribes(ST) No limit

Last date of submission of Forms: 16th March, 2009. and for Remote Areas: 23rd March, 2009

Date of Entrance Test : Indian Forest Service Examination, 2009 commencing from 11th July, 2009

Application : The Candidates must apply in the Common Application Form devised by the Commission for its examinations, which can be purchased from the designated Head Post Offices/Post Offices (specified in Appendix-III of the Notice) throughout the country against cash payment of Rs.20/- (Rupees twenty only). Each such Form can be used only once and only for one examination. In case of any difficulty in obtaining Application Forms from the designated HPOs/POs, the candidates should immediately contact the concerned Post Master or UPSC’s "FORMS SUPPLY MONITORING CELL” over Telephone No.: 011 – 213389366 / Fax No.: 011 – 23387310 FEES Rs.100/- (Rupees One Hundred only) through Central Recruitment Fee Stamp only. SC/ST/PH candidates are exempted from payment of Fees. (OBC candidates are required to pay full fees).
