Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research Admissions to Dual BS-MS Program 2012


Applications are invited for admission to 5 year BS-MS dual degree with major in biology, chemistry, mathematics and physics.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates satisfying at least one of the following three criteria may apply.

KVPY (Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana) Science Stream: Students qualified in SA (2010) / SX (2011) / SB(2011) / SP (Passed 10 +2 in 2011 / 2012).

IIT-JEE 2012: Students obtaining a minimum of 60% marks in class XII and securing a place in rank list.

Central & State Boards: students qualifying in class XII in 2011 or 2012 in Science stream with either

a. Marks above cut-off percentage declared in DST website for the INSPIRE eligibility in http://www.inspire-dst.gov.in . For OBC (non-creamy layer) a 5% relaxation on DST cut-off is admissible. The cut-off for SC / ST is 60% in class XII for all boards in 2012.

b. Advisory note for the eligibility in scholarship for higher education (SHE) under INSPIRE scheme.

Gautam Buddh Technical University, Lucknow is conducting State Entrance Examination (UPSEE 2012) on 22nd April, 2012 for admission to degree courses in Engineering (B.Tech,)/ B.Tech. (Ag. Engg.)/ Pharmacy (B.Pharm.)/ Architecture (B.Arch.) / Hotel Management (BHMCT)/ Fashion & Apparel Design (BFAD) and MBA / MCA of Govt. Aided and private unaided institutions affiliated to Gautam Buddh Technical University, Lucknow and Mahamaya Technical University, Noida along with some of the other State Universities of Uttar Pradesh for the academic session 2012 - 13.

Eligibility Criteria

For admission to first year of Engineering (B.Tech,)/ B.Tech. (Ag. Engg.)/ BHMCT / BFAD candidates must have passed intermediate examination or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent from any recognized Board/ University as given in information brochure of UPSEE - 2012.The candidate must have clearly passed with minimum 45% marks for General & OBC and 40% for SC/ST candidates in aggregate. The candidate is essentially required to pass in each subject of the subject groups mentioned in the information Brochure UPSEE - 2012 without grace marks.

For admission to the first year of B. Arch., a candidate must have passed intermediate examination of UP Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent from any recognized Board / University; securing minimum 50% marks in aggregate in compulsory and, optional subjects as given in information Brochure of UPSEE-2012. The candidate is essentially required to pass in each subject of the compulsory and optional subjects mentioned in the information Brochure of UPSEE - 2012 without grace marks.

A candidate possessing three year Diploma in Architecture (10+3) recognized by Central/ State Govt., securing minimum 50% marks in aggregate is also eligible for admission to the first year ot B.Arch. only. The candidates will have to appear in the Entrance Examination
UPSEE-2012 for admission to first year of B.Arch. (paper - 4) as mentioned above.

For admission to the first year of MBA course, candidate must have passed bachelors degree course of minimum three year duration from any recognized university of India. The candidate must have clearly passed without grace marks with an aggregate of minimum 50% marks for General & OBC and 45% for SC / ST candidates.

For admission to the first year of MCA, candidate must have passed bachelors degree course of minimum three years duration from any recognized university with Mathematics as a subject at 10+2 level. The candidate must have clearly passed without grace marks with an aggregate of minimum 50% marks for General & OBC and 45% for SC / ST candidates.

For admission to the second year (lateral entry) of B,Tech., the candidate must have passed three years Diploma in Engineering course; securing minimum 45% for General & OBC (40% in case of candidates belonging to SC / ST category) marks in aggregate or three years B.Sc. degree and passed Xll standard with Mathematics as one subject securing minimum 45% for General & OBC (40% in case of candidates belonging to SC / ST category) marks in aggregate in B.Sc. as per details provided in the brochure.

For admission to the second year (lateral entry) of B. Pharm., the candidate must have passed Diploma in Pharmacy course securing minimum 45% for General & OBC (40% in case of candidates belonging to SC / ST category) marks in aggregate as per details provided in the brochure.

The candidates appearing in the qualifying examination are also eligible to appear in State Entrance Examination 2012 subject to the condition that they must fulfill the eligibility criteria at the time of counseling.

Eligibility Criteria

Engineering & Technology: Passed or appearing in 2012, 10+2 examination of CHSE, Odisha or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the subjects from Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology/ Electronics / Computer Science / Information Technology/ Geology / Statics. The candidate should have passed individual subject and must have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidate belonging to SC/ST category) in the above subjects taken together.

There is no age limit to appear at OJEE-2012 for admission into Engineering & Technology courses.

Pharmacy: Passed or appearing in 2012, 10+2 examination of CHSE, Odisha or equivalent with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the subjects from Mathematics / Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology. The candidate should have passed individual subject and must have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidate belonging to SC/ST category) in the above subjects taken together.

Architecture: Passed or appearing in 2012, 10+2 examination of CHSE, Odisha or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the subjects from Chemistry / Engineering Drawing / Computer Science / Biology. The candidate should have passed individual subject and must have obtained at least 45% (40% in case
of candidate belonging to SC/ST category) marks in the above subjects taken together.

All the aforesaid admission into 5 year B.Arch. degree course are to be subject to passing NATA conducted by the council of architecture and the minimum passing score for NATA is 40% for all categories of candidates. NATA shall be a prerequisite for admission into B.Arch course, but the ranking shall be on the basis of OJEE-2012 ranking and admission to the course is based on the OJEE-2012 rank.

For admission to 1 Year Medical Stream (MBBS/BDS): Passed or appearing in 2012, 10+2 examination of CHSE, Odisha or equivalent, with Physics, Chemistry & Biology (Botany and Zoology) with at least 50% marks in aggregate (Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together) for general category candidates and 40% marks in aggregate for SC/ ST candidates.

For candidates seeking admission through OJEE-2012 to Govt. and Private Colleges the candidate must be a permanent native of Odisha. They are to submit the Permanent Residence Certificate (Appendix - I) at the time of document verification during counselling process.

AGE: The lower age shall be 17 years as on December 31, 2012. The upper age shall be 25 years as on December 31, 2012.

Eligibility Criteria

AGE: Not less than 17 years as on 31st December, 2012.

Minimum Qualification:

(a) MBBS /BDS/BAMS: The Candidate must have passed the 10+2, i.e. ISC/ Intermediate or its equivalent. After a period of 12 years of study. The last two years of such study comprising Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from a Recognized Board/University and must have passed in all the above subjects.

The candidate must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology taken together in the qualifying examination In respect of the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBCs the marks obtained in be Physics, Chemistry, Biology taken together in the qualifying examination be 40% in lieu of 50% for general Candidates.

(b) BHMS :- The candidates who have passed the 10+2 or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology shall be eligible.

The candidates who are appearing for the qualifying examination (XII) and result is not yet available are also eligible to appear in the common pre –medical entrance examination but such candidates shall submit the mark sheet of the qualifying examination (XII) on and before the date specified in the information brochure.

Jawaharlal Nehru University will hold Combined Biotechnology Entrance Examination for admission to

(1) M.Sc. (Biotechnology);

Eligibility Criteria

M.Sc. in Biotechnology:

Bachelor’s degree under 10+2+3 pattern of education in Physical, Biological, Agricultural, Veterinary and Fishery Sciences, Pharmacy, Engineering/Technology, 4-years B.Sc. (Physician Assistant Course); OR Medicine (MBBS) OR B.D.S. with at least 55% marks.

M.Sc.(AGRI.) Biotechnology/M.V.Sc.

Bachelor’s degree under 10+2+3/4/5 pattern of education with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade point average from any recognized university in the concerned subjects.

M.TECH. in Biotechnology

Minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade in any one: B.Tech/ B.E. in Chemical Engineering/Biochemical Engineering, Industrial Biotechnology, Leather Technology, Chemistry/ Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Technology, B. Only those candidates who have passed the qualifying examinations in 2010 or thereafter including those who are appearing in 2012 are eligible to apply. In other words, those who have passed the qualifying examination PRIOR to 2010, are not eligible to apply.

However, admission towards seats for other state candidates in M.Tech. Agricultural Engineering majors shall be made through Entrance Examination conducted by ICAR. In case, domicile candidates of uttarakhand are not available for the sanctioned seats, the same shall be filled from candidates of other States

Application Form - How To Apply

Candidates seeking admission to the one-year EPGP programme of IIM-Indore (2012-13 batch) either have to appear in the Common Admission Test (CAT 2011) or submit their GMAT score. The GMAT score should have been obtained between Jan 1, 2009 and March 31, 2012. They will have to send in a separate application form which can be downloaded from our website www.iimidr.ac.in.

The completed application form along with the processing fee should reach IIM Indore on or before 20th April, 2012. The application processing fee is Rs. 3500/- for resident Indians and U.S. $ 110/- for other nationals and non-resident Indians. Please enclose a D/D for the application-processing fee drawn in favour of IIM Indore payable at Indore along with the application.

Candidates applying through CAT 2011 have to mention their CAT Application Form number in the EPGP Application form. Candidates applying through GMAT have to submit their GMAT score along with the EPGP Application form.

Eligibility Criteria

a) B.Tech.
Pass or appearing (in the year 2012) at 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects alongwith one of the following subjects : Chemistry / Computer Science / Information Technology /Biotechnology / Biology / Informatics / Statistics, by securing atleast 45% marks taken together in the subject mentioned (40% incase of candidates belonging to SC / ST / OBC category) OR
Pass in Diploma programme in Engineering / Technology with less than 60% marks in aggregate.

b) MBBS and BDS
Pass or appearing at 10+2 examination (in the year 2012) or any equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany and Zoology) and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the qualifying examination. In respect of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Schedules Tribes and Other Backward Classes the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in qualifying examination can be 40% instead of 50% for General Candidates. For PH candidates qualifying examination marks is 45% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together.

As per MCI & DCI guidelines candidates have to secure at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology) taken together in the entrance test. For SC / ST / OBC candidates the limit is minimum of 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology) taken together in the entrance test. For PH candidates the limit is minimum of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology) taken together in the entrance test. All candidates must pass in English.
Age Limit: The lower age limit is 17 year and the upper age limit is 25 year as on 31.12.2012. Further provided that this upper age limit shall be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for the candidates belonging to SC and ST category only.

c) B. Pharm
Pass or appearing at 10+2 examination (in the year 2012) with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects: Mathematics / Biotechnology / Computer Science / Biology / Information Technology, by securing atleast 45% marks taken together in the subject mentioned (40% incase of candidates belonging to SC / ST / OBC category) OR
Pass in Diploma programme in Pharmacy with less than 60% marks.

d) BHMCT
Pass or appearing at 10+2 examination (2012 ) in any discipline with atleast 45% marks (40% incase of SC / ST / OBC category)

e) B.Sc. in Nursing (Basic)
Pass or appearing at 10+2 examination (in the year 2012) with at least 45% marks in aggregate (English, Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together) and 40% marks in aggregate for SC / ST / OBC candidates only.
Age Limit : The lower age limit is 17 years as on 31.12.2012.

f) B.Sc. in Nursing (Post Basic)
Passed GNM examination, and registered with concerned State Nursing Council. Candidate must be a member of TNAI.

g) Five years integrated BBA LLB Honours Programme
Passed the 10+2 or equivalent in any stream with atleast 45% marks. Relaxable to 40% in case of SC/ ST. Candidate should not have completed 21 years of age as on 1st August 2012.

a) M.Tech.
Pass or appearing at B.E. / B.Tech / AMIE /MCA/M.Sc. in the respective discipline or equivalent. For M.Tech. in Biotechnology, candidates having B.Tech./ B.E. in Biotechnology or related fields / M.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Life Science or equivalent / MBBS / B.Pharm./B.V.Sc. with Biology as a subject at +2 level are eligible.
Candidates having MCA degree are eligible for M.Tech in Comp. Sc. & Engg., Comp. Sc. & Data Processing, and those with M.Sc. (Maths.) degree are eligible for M.Tech in Comp. Sc. & Data Processing. Candidates with M.Sc. (Electronics) are eligible for M.Tech. in Electronics& Communication Engineering and M.Tech. in Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering. M.Sc. in Computer Science and IT are eligible for M.Tech. in Computer Science & Engineering and CS & IT respectively.
A candidate with B.Tech. (Environmental / Chemical / Civil / Mechanical / Metallurgy) or M.Sc. (Environmental Science / Chemistry / Biotechnology / Geology / Life Science / Botany / Zoology) is eligible

Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune: Admission to MBBS Course – 2012



Applications are invited for admission to the MBBS course at Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, commencing from 01 Aug 2012. Total 130 candidates (including a maximum of 25 girls) will be selected.

AFMC MBBS Entrance Exam Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have passed the XII standard/ pre-professional/ premedical examination or equivalent examination of statutory Indian University/ Board or any other recognized Board/ University as a regular student in all the subjects opted for in FIRST ATTEMPT with the subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology securing not less than 60% of aggregate marks in the three science subjects taken together, not less than 50% marks in each of the science subjects and not less than 50% marks in English.

They must have also passed an examination in Mathematics at least of the matriculation standard. A graduate of B.Sc. examination with not less than two of the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany or Zoology) and also must have passed the earlier qualifying examination i.e. XII standard / Pre professional (Med) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English and obtained marks as stated above.

NOTE (a) Candidates who are to appear in the qualifying examination (10+2 or equivalent) up to 01 May 2012 may also appear for the test provisionally.

(b) The following categories of students are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply:-

(i) Candidates who have passed in Domestic Science, Domestic Arithmetic, Lower Maths separately or in combination with other subjects like General Science, Social studies in High School/Higher Secondary (Multi-Purpose) or equivalent examination

(ii) Candidates who have passed only Pre-University/ Pre-Degree (one year course) or Pre-Professional in Agriculture/ Veterinary/ Dental
Examination

(iii) Candidates who have passed the Pre-Professional or other equivalent qualifying examination as PRIVATE CANDIDATES.

AFMC MBBS Entrance Exam AGE LIMIT: Should attain the age of 17 years on 31 December 2012 but must NOT have attained the age of 22 years on the above mentioned date i.e. not born earlier that 01 January 1991 and not later than 31 December 1995, if the academic qualification of the candidate is 10+2 or equivalent. A candidate who has passed B.Sc. examination or will be appearing in final B.Sc. examination and seeks admission must not have attained the age of 24 years on 31 December 2012 i.e. must have not been born earlier than 01 January 1989.

AFMC MBBS Entrance Exam Application Form - How To Apply

(a) Prospectus and application form for AFMC MBBS Entrance Examination 2012 will be available ONLY online, from 06 February 2012 onwards.

Candidates will have to login to the website of AFMC www.afmc.nic.in and click on the link AFMC MBBS Entrance Examination 2012 which will lead to the webpage containing the application process. Candidates should read the instructions/guidelines contained in the webpage carefully before applying.

(b) Candidates applying for AFMC MBBS Entrance Examination 2012 should have a valid e-mail id which is mandatory. All candidates should register themselves on the website by clicking on the “New Applicant Click here to Register” icon. You will have to fill up the relevant details and register. An e-mail with a temporary password will be generated and sent to the registered e-mail id. On first login a new password will have to be created by the candidate.

(c) Following successful registration, the candidate can now apply for AFMC MBBS Entrance examination – 2012, using his registered e-mail id and the new changed password as LOGIN ID and PASSWORD.

(d) On logging in to the account a unique registration id will be generated. All candidates will write down and keep this number safely since this will be used for all future correspondence. The candidate will have to fill the mandatory fields marked (*) in the application form.

(e) Candidates will also have to download and print the Bank challan form. This form will be printed with the unique registration number. Candidates will have to make the payment of Rs.280/- (Two Hundred and Eighty only (Application fee + Bank charges)) at any State Bank of India branch across the country.

NOTE: This payment can be done ONLY 24 hours after initial registration on the website.

(f) To make the final submission of the form the candidate will have to upload his/her digital photograph and scanned signature. The photograph and scanned signature will be uploaded only in the .jpeg format. All photographs will be of passport size format with the name of candidate and the date of the photograph mentioned at the bottom of the photograph. Any form without a photograph or signature will be rejected. The form can then be submitted;

however the confirmation of submission will be uploaded ONLY when the bank confirms the payment of the application fees by the candidate.

(g) For those candidates who are unable to upload photo and signature, provision for submission of the forms by downloading, printing and sending the forms to AFMC Pune after affixing photograph and signature will be available from 28 Feb 2012 to 05 Mar 2012 ONLY. Candidates who send the forms by this method will have to paste the photograph and sign the application at the relevant place before sending it in the following address:

Admission to Bhopal M.Phil Natural Resource Management 2012

Applications are invited for admission to M.Phil (Natural Resource Management)

Eligibility Criteria

The minimum qualification for all candidates shall be Post Graduate degree/ diploma or its equivalent with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks recognized by an Indian University or Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The relaxation of 5% marks at the Masters Degree (P.G) eligibility criterion shall be given to candidates belonging to SC/ST/PD category as per the guidelines of UGC.

The candidates applying to M.Phil (NRM) programme should have post graduate degree or its equivalent in the field of Science/ Engineering / Management and related Social sciences. (The equivalence will be decided by the Institute).

The candidates from outside India SAARC/Foreign countries who have obtained their masters degree from any university, outside India must provide the equivalence of the eligibility requirement which shall be 55% marks at masters Degree (PG level).
