DSC PGPPC Admission 2012

The Delhi School of Communication XVIIIth two-year Post Graduate Communication (PGDPC) Admission 2012


The Delhi School of Communication (DSC) invites applications for its XVIIIth two-year Post Graduate  Programme in Communication (PGDPC). This is a dual qualification program awarding both the PGDPC and MMC (Masters in Mass Communication) from Guru Jambheshwar University (UGC and AICTE approved).


The DSC programme is a broad based course covering Advertising, Public Relations, Marketing, and Event Management. DSC was started by a group of industry leaders and academicians in 1995, who felt a need to better align academics with industry requirements. Work exposure via internships is therefore is an integral part of the programme. DSC students are placed for internships (full day work experience) for upto 4 months and are placed for apprenticeships (half day work experience) between 3 to 6 months. Students earn attractive stipends alongside obtaining valuable work experience. Work experience gained during the program combined with industry faculty ensure placements in leading agencies such as JWT, Edelman, Genesis BM, Perfect Relations & McCann Erikson, Mudra upto 3 months before graduation.

Graduates or those completing graduation in 2012 in any stream may apply for the programme.

For admission to DSC, students have to clear either the MAT/CAT/XAT examination or sit for the DSC internal Admission exam. The DSC Admission test is for 1 ½hrs  testing an individual on basic reasoning, logic and creative writing skills. Basic knowledge on Advertising and Media is also tested. Thereafter they need to sit for a ½ hr Psychological Test, testing a candidates creative writing skills and emotional quotient. Both the Internal Exam and Psychological Test are available online this year. This is followed by a Personality Interview, the third and final step towards obtaining admission to DSC.

IITs UG Admission 2012

The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are once again geared up for admission 2012 into undergraduate programs in engineering, science, technology, management, architecture, design etc. IIT JEE 2012 results are scheduled on May 18, 2012; the big day for IIT JEE 2012 test takers. This article is about how to gain admission in IITs UG program
aka IITs UG Admission 2012 Procedure.

IIT JEE 2012 Counselling and Admissions


The IIT JEE 2012 results are scheduled for May 18, 2012. The AIR of candidates will be declared by IIT JEE 2012 authority which will be a passport for taking admissions into undergraduate engineering, technology, sciences and management degree programs offered by following autonomous institutes of excellence declared by the parliament of India.

IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, IIT Roorkee, IIT-BHU Varnasi, ISM Dhanbad
, IIT Bhubaneswar, IIT Gandinagar, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Indore, IIT Mandi, IIT Patna, IIT Rajasthan & IIT Ropar

The seats in these institutes will be offered on the basis of All India Rank (AIR) in IIT JEE 2012, category rank, and the choices of each qualified student submitted at the time of counseling.

Besides IITs some institutes will also use IIT JEE 2012 AIR for admission into undergraduate engineering and technology degree programs. The IIT JEE 2012 will provide the AIR of interested candidates to these institutions. Interested candidates would require contacting these institutes separately.

Requirements of Physical Fitness Certificate


The candidates qualified in IIT JEE 2012 would require submitting a physical fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner in the prescribed format

Admission Requirements for Mining Courses


For admission into Mining Engineering and Mining Machinery you must be free from any sorts of Color Blindness. Candidates interested into mining programs would need to submit a certificate from a registered medical practitioner during the time of counseling or admission. The standards of visual acuity with or without glasses will be adhered to strictly for candidates seeking admission to Mining Engineering as per DGMS Circular 14 of 1972. Persons with one-eyed vision are not permitted to work underground. Candidates with the above limitations are not allowed to opt for admission to Mining Engineering or Mining Machinery Engineering.

Female Candidates for Mining Courses


Section 46 (1) of the Mines Act, 1952 states that "No woman shall, notwithstanding anything contained in any other law, be employed (a) in any part of a mine which is below ground, (b) in any mine above ground except between 06.00 and 19.00 hrs.". Hence, female candidates are not admitted to Mining Engineering and Mining Machinery Engineering at ISM Dhanbad, whereas the corresponding programmes at IIT Kharagpur and IT-BHU Varanasi have no such restriction.

Aptitude Test for Admission to B. Arch. Program

The candidates qualified in IIT JEE 2012 and interested in joining B.Arch program will require appearing in Architecture Aptitude Test which will be conducted by zonal IITs on June 03, 2012.

This test will be one paper of three hours duration - from 09:00 to 12:00 hrs. Question papers for Aptitude Test for B. Arch. will be in English only.
